I stare at Violet for several seconds, my mouth hung open unattractively. I've pictured Violet many times in my head but she's even more beautiful in reality.
"I'm Jake's girlfriend," I respond slowly, breaking the tense silence between us. Violet looks at me in bewilderment before she begins laughing, clutching at her stomach. I stand up straighter, my eyebrow raised at her response. Multiple seconds pass before Violet realises I'm not amused. Her laughter slowly dies down —
"Oh damn. You're not joking are you. . . "
Her eyes roam over my body again and I stiffen up, immediately taking a disliking to her and her attitude.
"No, I'm not joking. What are you doing here?" I respond bluntly, letting my manners fly straight out of the window. My respect for this girl instantly vanished the moment she opened her mouth. I hear footsteps behind me and I sigh, closing my eyes —
This is not going to go down well.
