Chapter 13: Mr. Genius

"Hak. We need to talk."

"Yeah, sure. What time?"

He said calmly like he didn't lie to her! Big time!

"After we finish work."

Erica said seriously and he seems to sense it.

"What's wrong?" He said, worried. It just made her more angry to him.

She ended the call without saying anything.

"Miss Lopez." A husky yet hot voice called her. Her brows furrowed, does this guy don't know how to knock?

"Yeah?" She said without looking up and in her peripheral vision she saw him step closer.

"Are you that busy?"

"What do you need?" She said annoyed and look at him. She was stunned, well this is the first time that this genius guy came in her office!

"Oww.. it's you." She said while checking him out, not hiding it. As usual he is wearing his hoodie but underneath that jacket is his suit! He also wear his famous mask.

"Staring is rude." He said mockingly.

"So? What do you need?" Ignoring what he said.

"I want the case of Mr. Salazar and the case that you've been rejecting." Erica understand that he want that case but why does he want the case of Mr. Salazar?

"Why?"

"I have nothing to lose." She frowned. There's no person in this world that don't have anything to lose. Deep inside in our hearts there will be always this one person or thing that we treasured with all our hearts.

But she know what he mean, she have so many people that she treasures. Both cases is very dangerous and it's not simple as we think.. but what's the point of staying here for if she gave up easily?

"Look, I don't get it why every time I have dangerous cases you always pop anywhere even in the court and try to steal them? Are you suicidal?"

"I don't think we are close enough to disclose such a private matter." He said aloof and indifferent. What a jerk!

"Well, I deserve to know about that private matter because it's my cases that you always try to steal it from me!"

That's right. One of the reason why our officemate thinks that we are competing to each other! He always try to steal my dangerous cases, which made me think that he have some prejudice to girls being an attorney!

Well, it's not just me that he always pester to steal cases. Some of our colleague told me that every time they would give up their cases, he would tell them that he would do it. Even though he knew that I was the first one to claim those cases! She snorted. Shamless guy!

"It's fun and thrilling." He said with a monotone voice and cold face.

That's it?! He would to this kind of things because it's fun and thrilling? He's a freak, weird, cute, handsome animal!

"I won't give up Mr. Salazar's case, if you really want to solve this case so much then you can help us."

She have thought about it. Since, he is really eager to get this case he should just help us, because both of us want to solve this case so it much better to just help each other. And she really want to know if he really is good, after all she want him to solve that case.

"Help you?" Ziv snorted. After all, all he wants is to prevent her from danger! But now..help her? It's not a bad idea but still her life would still be in danger.

"Yeah? You don't want to? It's fine." Erica said, like it's really ok but she really want him to agree!

"I'm in." Ziv agreed. He doesn't have a choice it's much better to join her than let her wife and the mother of her kids put her life in danger.

Yes. Wife. Ziv take advantages of the drunk Erica five years ago. He have always have that marriage certificate to him since that day happened. And when he saw the opportunity he grab it, even though he knew Erica would hate him more.

Ziv stayed besides Erica all this years, but she didn't know. She only knew that Ziv came back five years ago and left again. But the truth is Ziv never left. They fooled her. Everyone fooled her.

Yes. Ziv is really a painter but it's only a sideline, even being a lawyer is a sideline.

Erica is so clueless what Ziv have done to her for the past few years, because anger consumed her heart that made her very inconsiderate towards Ziv. She turned blind eye and deaf. Her hatred towards him is deep that even her or Ziv can heal it. No one can heal Erica's heart.

Ziv went out. After their discussion.

Erica receive a call after he went out.

"Mom! Can we visit you?" Said from the one who called. She felt happy because Yelena forgive them.

"Yes, of course baby!" She said happily and sweetly.

"Mom? I want to eat strawberry cheesecake in your office, with Mirk!"

"Ok, ok, I'll tell your Aunt Snow to buy one. What else my baby want? Ahm?"

"Pizza!"

"Chocolate!"

"Ahm..me mommy, gummies."

"How about drinks? And choose some healthy foods too."

"Carrots.."

"Chapsoy and iced tea, Mom!"

They are bubbly today and energetic! After some talk they end the call and prepared to come here.

Mom is with them, today. Drey is quite busy this past few days because Seg agreed. We are actually preparing for it, we just need to wait for the welcome back party for Ziv, we'll take advantage of it and do the plan.

Drey is doing his part and my part..not yet. I need to talk to Ziv, bit how am I going to talk to him?! Every time we talk we end up fighting! Well, it's particularly my fault, but oh well.. she thought

"Here are the foods."

Snow said and sat down.

"I saw Mr. Genius a while ago. So? Does he want to steal your case again?" She curiously asked.

"Yeah, but I refused so I came up with the idea that we should work together." She said like it was nothing.

"So?"

"He agreed."

"Doesn't he looks and sounds familiar to you?!" He is indeed looked familiar to her. But that person can't be there. Mr. Genius and her came at the company at the same time.

"Yes. He does, but it's impossible Snow."

"I know.. but what if he never really left?" She asked, trying to not to trigger anything. But she failed.

"Do you know something, Snow? Are you lying to me too?" She avoided her gaze guilty.

"No.. let's not talk about it."

Now that she's mention it, Erica can't stop her self not to over think. There are too many what if's in her mind that it caused her an headache.
