True to Dracaryx's words, he hadn't forced Valerie to do anything else. He only took him out on outings and generally doted on him. Although Valerie was disgusted by him and his actions, he had to play nice.

But time was running out, He had overhead several disgruntled conversations from the other vampires who thought Dracaryx had abandoned the plan for revenge.

Some of them showed their hostility to him without pretense. Valerie knew it was time for him to escape but how would he do that.

Even though he was a vampire, he was still new to all this and he couldn't fight an entire army of vampires by himself.

And what if Dracaryx was the one, he was to fight. The blood offspring and sire bond was becoming harder for Valerie to fight every day. He needed to leave before he was no longer able to resist it.
