Tristan and Andrew already communicated telepathically before he left with Liliana. Tristan threatened that he shouldn't harm the girl and he replied by saying. 'Oh, the time is not now'
Tristan could sense that he was telling the truth because he couldn't just take Liliana knowing that he could trail both of them. Well, that was gone, she didn't listen to him and hadn't accepted his apology. He had to think of another way to get her mercy and return to the Liliana she was. Caring and always on the lookout.
Tristan decided to take a stroll through the street to get his mind busy. Just then a small boy probably at the age of eight bumped into him, he was dressed in cheap clothes that had holes. The child was begging for food. Tristan decided to ignore and walk away, he doesn't help. It was out of his theory and his principle but suddenly he asked himself. What would Liliana do? Of course, she would help the little boy as she did to the old man he wanted to kill for fun because he saw that the man was old and was of no use anymore but she spoiled his plan then because of the gift she had.
Tristan turned back and called the little boy back. With the boy returning to him, he asked where his parents were but he got no response and said he was too hungry. The boy was so bad and stinky and Tristan could say that he had been on the streets for so long.
He'd do just what Liliana would do, treat the boy. He took the boy to his house after buying him food and also some clothes to wear. He then told the little boy whose name was Xander to go get a bath before eating. Xander excitingly went to get a bath and changed into his new dress. He blessed the uncle that saved him.
Somehow, the little boy's words warmed his heart, staring at him, the boy hugged the uncle and appreciated him greatly. "You made me happy, I wish you also receive happiness too," he said.
Tristan found himself hugging the child back. It felt so good helping out, it was the first time he had ever helped someone talk less of a child.
After the embrace, they both sat on the ground to eat, Tristan served the boy a lot and gave him cutleries to help himself.
With ecstasy, Xander collected the spoon and began to dig into the rice with meat sauce. The little boy rushed the food, evident that he hadn't eaten for days.
Tristan offered water and when the boy gulped down, Tristan smiled and rumbled his hair. "So what about your parents? Where are they?" He asked.
Sadness clouded Xander's face and he swallowed, "my parents died when I was brought to this world. That's what my uncle told me," he made sure to add that because the little boy suspected that his parent's death wasn't ordinary. "So I moved in to live with my uncle, I was mistreated and was later thrown out because I was accused of theft," he wiped his nose and planted another spoon of rice into his mouth. "Living in the street hasn't been so easy because I had to do everything to survive," the boy was too strong that he could hold back his tears. Tristan thought of Liliana, the girl had such a weak and vulnerable heart, she would have been in tears by now.
Tristan ruffled the boy's hair again and gestured for him to continue.
After lunch, Tristan sat the boy down on one of his couches and asked what he thought of living in the orphanage. The boy was totally fine with it as long as he gets food to eat. Tristan was happy that he loved the idea. He found it weird that he felt this happy to see that he helped someone. Actually, weird wasn't the word, what he was doing to the little boy was something demons don't do. Well, as long as he felt excited about it, it was okay.
Walking out of his house hand in hand. The boy called the uncle's attention and Tristan squatted before him. "What is it?"
"Nothing just wanted to know if you have a wish," Xander uttered.
Tristan went in thoughts and then his thoughts drifted to Liliana, what he wanted now was her forgiveness. Even when he found it awkward telling the little boy what he wanted, he told him anyway.
Xander laughed. "It's easy!" He exclaimed. "I use to watch how my uncle flatters his wife whenever she's upset," he told Tristan.
Tristan then asked the little boy for a piece of advice on how to get his landlady to forgive him.
...
Liliana stared through the window as Andrew's driver drove to her destination. She never wanted him to come along but what could she do? The man insisted. Staring, she could feel his gaze on her. She knew that that gaze wasn't that of attraction. It was the gaze she found so complex.
Liliana knew the gaze of attraction, that look Richard gave to her, the look her high schoolmate gave to her. And the look she sees in men's eyes for Rachel whenever they were outing together. Every woman had that man who admires them a lot but Andrew was different, his gaze was always about something she couldn't pinpoint or understand.
She continued to stare through the window sighting pedestrian and other cars driving by. Though another man was sitting next to her, her mind kept wandering about Tristan. Was he being sincere about his apology this time or was he doing it to just... she doesn't know but just like Andrew here, Tristan was also a mysterious man, a man she kept wondering what he really wanted.
Liliana couldn't even view what he wanted sometimes when she look into his obsidian eyes. Those eyes said a lot of things, things she could feel but doesn't understand. Things she knew were important but fear to figure out. Things she knew were her concern but chose to ignore.
If he wanted her mercy, he had to work hard for it. He planned for her funeral! Thoughts of that make her so mad! That she didn't want to forgive him at all even though she was no longer angry about it but once that thought bounces into her mind. She forgets about her kind side and turned really mad.
The car was parked by the roadside to the cemetery and she climbed out before Andrew could come open the door for her. Honestly, she found that an exaggeration. No, she just didn't like that he do much because she felt inside that there was something behind his exceptional kindness.
