Andrew had informed Liliana earlier on their way to her home that he'd be having dinner with her. Not because he wanted to but because he needed information and wanted to watch how close she was to his demon mate.
Liliana invited him in and just like the first time Tristan entered her house, how he felt like a stain in a pure white shirt, that was exactly how Andrew felt but still, he sat on a settee just like how Tristan did back then.
Liliana went to her room, dropped her bag, took off her shirt, and wore a sleeveless shirt. After dinner and Andrew leaves she'll take a quick shower.
Afterwards, she traveled to the kitchen to get the man she left in her living room something to refresh while she makes dinner.
Truth be told she hated that he ever asked to have dinner with her. Just when Liliana thought she'd return home, eat and have her beauty sleep was when that handsome man asked to have dinner with her. He was a damn big pain to her throat!
With that stupid fake smile. Liliana went back to the living room with some refreshments, she threw him that exasperated smile which was hidden behind her lips, and Andrew could see that but pretended, it was a good thing he came for dinner to exasperate her more and see why she doesn't act the same way to Tristan because they both had evil motives. Then, Liliana turned around. "Please feel at home," she mentioned before leaving for the kitchen.
Just when she left, Tristan appeared in the living on the thought that she'd be the one he'd meet but it turned out to be his demon mate. Wait...what was he doing here?
They both threw themselves that look of despise. Tristan then scoffed and sarcastically wiped his nose. "What are you doing here?"
Andrew smiled that smile that gets on the demon's nerve. "What do you think?"
"Where's Liliana?" Tristan asked, now wasn't the time to fight or argue with this bastard demon before him who was stupidly taking a sip of the cider Liliana offered him earlier. That Liliana, doesn't she know who to treat well and not to treat well? She thinks everyone she sees is good, urgh! That girl would have herself killed one day.
"She's cooking dinner as a wife does for her husband," Andrew replied, speaking against the rim of the cup close to his mouth as he leaned back on the chair with his legs crossed.
Tristan eyed him. "It's not working," Tristan knew that the man was trying to get on his nerves and make him lose his mind by irritating him with his words but with Liliana around, he chose to ignore him and went to the kitchen.
Liliana was adding some ingredients into the pot on the stove as she spun the spoon. "Liliana," he called her quietly and wished she wouldn't glare at him or flare up.
"What do you want?" She asked as if she had expected him to come. "Wanna kill me?" She covered the pot and turned to him.
"No, you are the one killing yourself, I mean why would you let another man inside your house?" He sounded like he was scolding her.
Liliana rubbed her hand on her apron and went to wash the rice in the sink. She was avoiding him and his questions and talks.
Tristan sighed. "You don't know when to stop, do you? Huh? You let a ..."
"Will you keep shut and get out of my kitchen, you are becoming a discomfort and pain. I can't seem to breathe when you are around me. What do you think? That everyone is like you," she asked with her hands massaging and washing the rice.
"That's not the matter here Liliana, you should always know who you spend your time with,"
She threw him that fake smile. "Thanks a lot, a good example of that is telling you to leave my sight," she glared at him with clenched jaws. Who was he to tell her what to do? She did feel that Andrew wasn't good but hearing it coming indirectly from Tristan somehow felt like she was just being kind of insecure. He just wanted her to die in pain. That was why he was bad-mouthing Andrew now.
Tristan sighed. She wouldn't listen to him until he apologizes massively. "If this is because you have grudges and are still upset. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have tried that. I should have come to you and..."
"Sorry, no progress in your apologies," she interrupted him and turned off the tap. "I think it's too late or I just don't want to forgive you. I'm just waiting for the day you'll finally leave my life."
Tristan pursed his lips. "Just be careful and don't fall into wrong hands or you might regret it," that was the last thing he said before teleporting. He vanished from her sight and then Liliana wondered what was wrong with her.
Liliana had dinner with Andrew and studied him all over. The dinner was a quiet one with both of them having thoughts of their own.
Seems they weren't that close, Andrew overheard their conversation earlier and could view how Liliana felt for him. She knew that he was a demon. He never thought Tristan could give out information about himself just to a random girl. But knowing that, he still wasn't convinced that they don't share some bond or relationship. For Liliana to know his true identity, that means they shared one relationship, some kind of relationship. He was sure of that. And now figuring out was part of his mission even though he wasn't told to do that.
'Just be careful' What did he mean by saying that? Maybe Andrew wasn't a good person after all. Her gut and mind and heart told her so, she could feel it but how was she going to push him away? Liliana was swallowed by her never-ending thoughts. Then Tristan came to her mind. She had gone too far, she knew that. Why would she say all that to him?
Truth be told, Liliana didn't like or enjoy how distant they are from each other these past few days. She missed his seductive glances and his teasing attitude. They weren't friends but he was her tenant, her doorstep neighbor. Liliana couldn't go to Tristan and apologize. No, if he comes back and apologizes this one last time, she'd forgive him and patch things up with him, forget he tried to kill her and all the painful things he'd done to her.
Eventually, she escorted her guest out after dinner, and finally, she was able to breathe and even smell. She traveled back to her room, aiming to fall in her bed and sigh and stare at the ceiling and think and then, fall asleep but she'd told herself to take a warm shower before sleeping.
But on getting to her room, she was welcomed with a surprise. There was this big white puffy teddy bear on her bed. Who... How... When...? She looked around but found no trace of anyone in her room. Did Tristan do this?
Liliana closed the door behind her and took the bear from her bed as she settled down. She looked at its tag and it was confirmed that it was from Tristan. She didn't know what to feel and how to feel, Her heart melted the moment she saw his tag and his request. Oh, Tristan...
