Furious, disturbed and confused

Tristan teleported back to his room and began to pace about before sitting on his bed, the light was disturbing him so he went to switch it off. Why didn't he want Liliana dead? It could not be because of her innocence, there are girls out there that are pure like she was.

He rubbed his hands together being close to his mouth, he recalled her smiley face when she was excited. He should just concede that he didn't want to hurt her.

But saving her from his Dad wasn't impossible. He just couldn't go against his Dad, his dad was stronger and would never give up on anything he wants. So, that means Liliana would eventually die. He sighed... saving her meant going against his father for the first time in his life which was the last thing he would ever do. Or was it? What should he do now? Save her from his father? Or just give his father the audacity to do what pleased him?

Well, he didn't care for his Landlady but his dad, he cared about what his father thought of him, and he cared about the mission they were still working on.

So, the final decision was to let her die, what could she do for him even if she was alive? She was of no use to him. For some reason now after concluding that she was of no use, he felt that feeling of displeasure again. What's wrong with him? He thought Liliana was the one who was going to let her guard down but it turned out to be him who is letting his guard down because of some human girl. No! He didn't care for her, she was just like other random girls out there.

Yes! He didn't care! He didn't care!

Liliana prepared for work at dawn, the next day but when she was out of her house she didn't find Tristan. He wasn't home. Oh well, she needed to get to her car and go to work but before taking a step, she received a call, on checking her cell phone, it was the man from yesterday. Why was he calling?

She answered with a 'hello' expelling from her mouth. They had a good conversation and laughed at his jokes occasionally and eventually accepted to have lunch together at the cafeteria at her workplace.

When Tristan arrived home after a long stroll, he saw his landlady having a conversation on phone, and this time he heard that they would be having lunch together. Suddenly, he felt sick about their meeting again. What would happen to her?

She didn't know what she was getting herself into... She doesn't always know, she let him in without knowing anything about him or knowing that she kept herself in danger by letting him in her house and also when he found out about her human power. He planned to kill her. Urgh! He felt bad for her when he shouldn't.

When he was walking to his house not attempting to look her way, she saw him and in excitement, she called him but he only turned to her with a fake smile. He didn't want to ignore her like he used to but she went to him before he could go inside his house.

"Are you okay? Did you sleep well?" She asked knowing she was late but wanted to have a conversation with him before leaving even if it was a very short one and even though he hadn't apologized yet.

"I'm okay Landlady and I..." He turned around to see her hazel eyes glinting in happiness. He now felt so bad, she was so happy not aware his dad was already planning her funeral. He recalled her question. He didn't sleep. "...Slept well," he finished.

"You didn't ask about me," she told him.

"You are always fine..."

'Not always' she said internally still having that ecstatic look on her face.

"... And you always sleep well, I don't need to ask," he told her. "I heard you talking to someone on phone," he said.

She gave a thoughtful look. "Yes, it's the guy you saw yesterday. The one who dropped me home yesterday, remember?"

Of course, and he knew him more than she does.

Tristan nodded. "We agreed to have lunch together at my workplace. Want to tag along?" She asked.

Tristan shook his head. "No, I have better things to do."

She frowned. 'yeah, I should have known having lunch with me isn't a better thing to him' he heard her but acted like he didn't.

"Okay, have a nice day then dear [arrogant] neighbor," she smiled which wasn't fake and wasn't sincere because she knew what she called him inside her head. 'Arrogant' not knowing that he could hear her.

Tristan nodded with that evil smirk and then she turned around and left for work.

When it was lunchtime, she left her office and went with Raquel to meet Andrew. They spotted him sitting on a table, long enough and was by the window. They approached the man who was busy with his phone.

They had a light conversation while eating and Tristan on the other hand was invisible, watching them. He stared at the man with a mysterious look on his face. After lunch, she went back to work with Raquel by her side.

"He's handsome," Raquel whispered In her friend's ear as they left the cafeteria entrance.

"Okay," Liliana replied.

"I know that your eyes don't work properly."

Liliana turned to her with a glare. "He's handsome, I see that but not Interested in him," she uttered.

"Will he be coming back here tomorrow so I can put on good sweet makeup?" Raquel asked with a sweet grin, a grin that said she was imagining things. Liliana laughed.

"I don't know."

"Do you have his contact?"

Liliana nodded. "Will send it to you if you need it."

"Ohh, I need that number... that man..." She chuckled when she met Liliana's gaze.

"I see," were the only words that came out of Liliana's mouth.

Tristan followed the man to the parking lot and made himself visible behind a car so he wouldn't be captured by the security system around.

"Hey!" He called the man's attention. The man proudly turned about and faced Tristan with an evil grin.

"Hi... How may I..."

"By telling me what you are up to," he replied before he could finish his question.

"Up to going back to work... What else?"

Tristan laughed sarcastically. "I know who you are and stop pretending," he looked strict.

The stupid smile on Andrew's face faded away. "He said you are smart and now I see."

"What do you want with her?" He asked.

"I'm guessing you know."

Tristan breathed in. "The girl is mine," he stated sternly.

Andrew laughed. "Then why haven't you done what you are supposed to do?"

Tristan hushed and stared at the man's dark eyes, just like his. Thank goodness they couldn't read each other's thoughts. "That's my reason," he said.

"You are starting to fail on the mission you've not even started," Andrew laughed. "By liking that girl. Well, she's beautiful and hot. I like her but...just because of what I want from her." He said with wide eyes. "Just wait for her funeral and you'd thank me later. You are welcome in advance," he said before entering his car and then the driver drove out of the parking lot.

Tristan became so furious, disturbed, and confused. He didn't know what to do. He then recalled her happy face this morning. He just couldn't kill her but letting someone else do it might be fine. He left to go meet his father and apologize for not being focused on the mission. The mission was important to him, he needed to impress his father. That was his priority.
