ARIANNE POV
The sky was a heavy blanket of gray, thick clouds looming ominously overhead, casting a shadow over the somber gathering. Soft trees rustled through the trees, their branched swaying against the impending storm. It was almost as if nature could even sense our loss and was one with it.
As we stood outside the cemetery, the sky seemed to mirror the exact emotions we were feeling in our hearts. The atmosphere was heavy with a sense of foreboding. The whole thing still felt like a dream, like it wasn't real. The light was muted, the colors of the world dulled by the blanket of clouds that stretched as far as the eye could see. We all huddled closer together, each of us lost with our grief and finding comfort amongst ourselves.
I still found it hard to believe Ravenna was gone, leaving only her son who didn't seem to be quiet. The baby cried all night almost as if he was sharing our grief, as if he knew he had lost someone important in his life.
