CHAPTER 16

MAGEDELENE'S POV

Amanda and Magedelene looking at Jay's Party, Magedelene had chatted up Philip, If she could bring Amanda along, he had agreed to it. She knew this party would be good for Amanda, Amanda is the social butterfly.

She sights Philip, who was on his own enjoying the beats moving to the rhythm of the loud music .

As their eyes meet, she could see him, checking himself if he's looks good which makes her smile.

" You look spectacular today".Philip compliments her smiling.

" Oh you don't look bad yourself". She says looking him in the eyes .

He goes on smiling " Thanks for coming tho". He looks around finding Amanda already socializing, he points towards her direction.

" Oh Amanda,she is the social one amongst us". She looks towards Amanda's direction smiling.

"Come, let me introduce you to my friends". He says as he puts out his arms towards her, She accepts it by wrapping her arms into his.

Magedelene looks around, she saw Jay and Maya together, the noise was too loud, all she heard were people saying 'Awwn' as he was professing his love to her.

She smiles, knowing Philip had actually told her the truth, but she questions herself 'Was I jealous?, It can't be, I haven't known him for too long'.

She quickly pushes that thought away as she heard Philip saying to His friend "Sunny meet Magedelene and Magedelene meet Sunny".

Sunny looks up at her smiling " I've heard a lot about you".

She smiles and replies "hope they are all nice thing". He nods and they all laugh.

" I would love to introduce you to Jay and Maya, but as you can see they are on stage doing their thing" Philip looks at their direction, then looks at again finding her smiling

" They look good together, the crowds love them". Feeling embarrassed for thinking Maya and Philip had something together.

"Am happy we cleared the air on that". He says as he places his hand on her, She looks at him akwardly. " Do you mind, getting out of here".

Magedelene looks around, she was enjoying the party, she looks over at Philip, he seems like he needed to get something out of his chest.

"I don't mind, we can stay here yunno". He looks at her calmly

" I am actually enjoying the party , but". She pauses "let's get out of here".

" You're really unpredictable". He mutters very low. " What did You say" She says as she scans for Magedelene amongst the crowd

"Oh nothing, who are you searching for". He lies, scanning the crowd with her.

" It Amanda, never mind, I will text her". She brings out her phone and types into her phone. As she follows Philip who was leading her

"Where are we going this time". She asks as she raises her head from her phone.

" Here". He says looking at the pool. "I don't want to take you too far from Amanda.

She looks around too, Majority of the people at the pool were couples.

" Can you swim, Magedelene". He asks as She gives him a questioning look.

"Chill, Swimming relaxes me". Philip says as he laughs,

He pulls off his shirt and short, leaving only his boxer's on him,

'Damn, he's so fine, she looks at his built body, from top to down'. She hits her self, she didn't want him, see her drooling over him.

She watches as Philip dives into the water, swimming back and forth. "You should join me yunno". Coming towards her direction.

"There's no way am coming in there". She manages to utter.

Philip chuckles "okay atleast come sit down and let your legs feel the water, it refreshing.

"As long, as you won't push me in with you" she says with a warning smile

" I promise " Philip replies, as he dives his head back inside the water.

Magedelene removes her heels as she goes towards the water, puts her legs inside, it's actually refreshing like he says

He dives out again, comes closer to her, their faces touching

"Since my parent issue, have been wanting to ask, Do you ever wonder who your actual parents are?".

The mood changes for Magedelene, "When I was younger, it used to be everyday. But now they come across my mind less". She says as looks at the water.

"Have you tried searching for them". Philip looks at her asking.

She didn't answer immediately, she looks at him this time replying. "You must mean my dad because my biological mom is dead".

Philip quickly chips in, "I am really sorry about that". Letting her continue

"You know my mom, at times I wonder if she was alive , would she have thrashed me away too?".

Magedelene breathes out, that was the first time, she has said those words out loud. The thought usually lingers but it never came out from her.

Philip brings her hands towards his, holds it gently, " what do you tell yourself".he asks as his eyes softens

"If my biological dad could thrashed me, she must want too".

"If you had told me all these the day we went to the Art collection, I wouldn't have understood, but now I really do" Philip looks so sad as he speaks.

"Oh , you know, nobody can get you, unless you actually find someone who's in the same situation as you". She says as he rubs his hands gently.

" How about your dad, do you know if he's alive or not?". Philip asks again

"Yeah, I did try finding him, so I went back to the shelter, I was adopted but the manager in charge said I needed to come with my step mom". Resting her body on the iron by the pool side.

"Did you go with your Stepmom". He inquires

" I never did, Till date I still can't bring myself to ask Steph about it, it will break her, she's done everything for me to be contented". Magedelene looks disoriented.

Philip raises her face up as he speaks "You don't have to go through It alone anymore"

" What do you mean by this". She asks as her eyes locks with Philip's

" My parent just revealed to me, that I was adopted". As he says this, Magedelene gasps she wasn't really expecting that kind of revelation.
