Chapter 2: First date / Do I know you

Really!! He said with a tint of hope in his voice. Yeahhh!!! Totally. I said. Okay then, I'll meet you at the cafe this evening for some coffee so that we can read and you'll teach me!! He said. Soo, you're calling a date???. I asked excitedly. If you call it one. Yes, it's a date. He said. Bye!! I told him. Bye!!! He replied and cut the call.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! I screamed loudly and jumped from my bed falling on the floor. Its gonna be a long night!! I muttered rubbing my hurt elbow. I quickly called my best friend Sasha and told her about the date. She just replied flatly "ok" and I didn't really think much about it. I began to worry about what I was going to wear. After 30 minutes of going through my wardrobe, I finally settled on a crop top and a skirt. I also put on a pair of white sneakers and a beanie.

"Mom, is it okay if I go on a date" I screamed while running down the stairs. "Date with who exactly"? She asked her eyes boring into mine. "Someone, you don't know him" I said trying to change the topic. "Okay, I don't think you're ready to go" She said leaving the kitchen slowly. "Fine, it's Brian" I said rolling my eyes.

"Who's Brian" She said. "See, you don't know him" I said with a wide grin that immediately stopped when I saw the look on my mom's face. "He's a boy from my school and it's not really a date, we wanna study" I said. "Fine, but be back before 8pm" She reluctantly said. "8:30" I pleaded and she finally agreed.

I went out the front door and got my skateboard and started rolling away. I got to the café 20 minutes later and met Brian in front of the building. He opened the door for me and I couldn't help but blush.We ordered coffee and some donuts . And then started studying, I actually learnt a lot of things from him. "X + Y = 6 and X + Y = 12, it's a simultaneous equation so we... I looked up to see him staring at me. "Oh, I'm sorry" he said quickly and we continued studying but I couldn't help but think about him .

We finished studying and paid for our coffee. I insisted we split the bill because, we are not dating and it'll be weird and I didn't want him to think like I'm using him.We went out for a walk and it was pretty chilly outside so Brian gave me his jacket. It felt soo warm and I wished I could wear it forever

We started walking home cause it looked like it was gonna rain . He dropped me off at my house and this funny thing happened. I wanted to give him back his jacket and he said no.I weirdly said "okay bye " and he said "bye pretty". I went inside my house and once I closed the door, I released the breath I've been holding. I ran to my room and closed the door and fell on my bed ." He called me pretty " I muttered crazily and closed my eyes.

The next morning, I got ready for school and got there pretty early. I saw Sasha and went over to her . 'Hey, guess what happened' I said and she asked 'what?'. I then told her what happened and she just replied flatly. "Hey guys" Bianca screamed running up to us, everyone looked at us. We said 'hi' and the bell rang for our first class. I and Bianca had English but Sasha had History. We went to our classes.

I was in front of Brian and Bianca was beside me. He whispered, "thanks for last night" to me and I gave him a thumbs up sign. Bianca and I got pretty close. I guess I spent too much time avoiding her because she was the hottest. I thought she was a bully. We had classes till break and we went to the cafeteria and met Sasha.

Brian joined us with 2 of his friends. One of them was staring at Bianca. Brian glared at him and he stopped. I kinda felt sad. 'So he likes her ' I said inwardly. "Bianca, are we going home together" Brian suddenly said and I choked on my milkshake. "Are you okay" Bianca said handing me my water bottle. 'Yeah, I just thought of something funny' I said smiling sadly.

School was over and I asked Sasha if we could go over to my house so we could hang out. 'I'm busy' she said sharply. I just guessed she was having a bad day and needed some rest. I got my skateboard from my locker and started going home. I got home, freshened up and had my lunch and then had a little nap.

I woke up in the evening and went downstairs and met my 2 little brothers watching TV and it was kinda fun. My mom came back from her work shift, so we had pizza and yoghurt for dinner and literally watched TV till bedtime. My youngest brother was sleeping already so I took them to their room. I told my mom goodnight and went to bed.

The alarm woke me up and I quickly freshened up and went off to school. At school, I met Bianca alone by her locker( yes we're now friends). I went over to her and asked her about Sasha, she said she hasn't seen her. 'Okay, let me go look for her' I replied. Bye, she told me.

I met Sasha with Chloe and Evelyn, some girls at our school. They were laughing very happily. I smiled, seeing my best friend happy made me happy. I went over to them and said "hey" to Sasha. She replied 'um, do I know you' . I had a shocked look on my face.
