Chapter 71
Morgan stopped. He was bewildered by the light that shone brightly around him. He tried to reorient himself. He realized he was no longer in the forest, but standing in the living room of Robert’s house. Just inside the door that led to the carver’s shop was a tall, handsome, dark-haired man, a short woman in an official looking pant suit, and two police officers. On the other side of the room stood a much younger Robert and two women. The women had their arms wrapped around three small children. All three of the children were crying.
Morgan recognized them at once from the pictures he’d seen in the album that day after returning to Agawa. The women were his mother and grandmother; the children were Megan, James and himself.
