Oh so peaceful conversation

Daffany gulped as she stared into his dangerous gray eyes. Fear like no other surged into her body. One part of her head told her to give up and the other kept telling her to wait and see if he actually knew something but she also wasn't ready to lose her life. Who knew where the stupid guards were at this moment?

"I'm....sorry. I won't...harm...her...again" she said desperately and he finally released her. She took deep breaths trying to stabilize her breathing and when she finally felt energized again, she looked up only to see a murderous gaze on her. Looked like the man came here for business.

"So what do you want?" she asked as she strode to a chair at the farthest end from the bed.

Ivan watched her keenly as she walked to the couch. He had learnt throughout the years never to trust anyone and besides this was her room. She could have some weapons in secret places no matter how much he searched. At that thought, his eyes turned red and shifted in a split second as if it was never there. Or was it?

"Now you are talking business. Since you've decided to let us have this oh so peaceful conversation instead, what do you think I would want?" he asked throwing her question back at her.

" Something related to me asking for forgiveness from that princess or giving that princess an opportunity to humiliate me, what else?" she asked with a relaxed look on her face even though she felt the opposite inside. One movement from this man makes her jump in fright.

She thought back to Lora. She had met the girl by the roadside begging and it might not seem true but she actually felt pity for the girl. She had asked her about why she was begging and she said her mother was sick. She brought her to Brine and the girl started working as a maid for her. She thought of Lora when she wanted to harm that princess. The girl needed to pay back the favor she did for her and when she saw that the girl hesitated at one point, she just threatened her with her mother and everything was solved. Well, except for the fact that that princess was alive and this deadly prince seems to be after her neck now.

"That princess is my wife. I expect you to acknowledge that fact" his voice boomed with authority. He would have ended this woman's life right now if not for the fact that she needed something from her. There was something he needed to figure out and unfortunately, he needed this woman's power in her country to do the job.

Daffany eyes glinted as a maniacal look appeared in her eyes. She laughed amusedly "You expect me to acknowledge that princess as your wife? Do you think after more than 7 years of chasing you that I would suddenly let you go? I have not wasted 7 years of my life to give you up to some random woman. You are mine, Ivan. Take note of that and I would eradicate the existence of anyone who wants to take you away from me even if it is that woman you call your wife. And more thing, I can give you my body but that woman can't so what's so special and different about her? I don't get it". she was the one who stayed by his side for so long. He would have loved her if that woman didn't come into the picture.

Ivan smiled sarcastically "You want to know what's so special and different about her? She's every good and wondrous thing you are not". he crossed his legs over the other as he finished his short yet powerful sentence.

"You really think so? What's not good about me? I am beautiful, smart, intelligent and what not?" Daffany asked or more like showered herself with self praises. A lot of men wanted her and she was sure Ivan would soon be hers. Patience. She just had to have patience.

"Chasing a married man is good? Trying to kill someone is a beautiful thing? Pressuring people into doing bad things for you is a good thing? Well if they are you sure have a lot of good personalities then" he said mockingly.

"You're not married. I said you're not married so you are not okay?" she screamed frantically as if her screaming would make her words come to reality.

Ivan ignored her delusional rants "So let's get down to business. I need you to follow me to your library in Brine and this is not a request, it's an order" he said as a matter of factly.

"What do you want to do there?" she asked curiously

Ivan stood up from the bed as he leisurely strode to the door "Lead the way or do I need to force you to?" he commanded.

Daffany hurriedly shook her head "No..no. Let's go" she said as she walked towards the door leading the way to the library. She wondered what he wanted to do there though. She knew Ivan. He wouldn't go anywhere without any reason.

As they reached the door to the library, Daffany wanted to step inside alondside Ivan but he stopped her before she take a step "Do not follow me. Wait outside" he ordered silencing every objection before she could make a sound.

Ivan stepped into the library, locking it from behind as a precaution. He didn't want anyone knowing about what he was doing here. He walked around the library and surprisingly, he found the same book used to open the secret door just like Medrian. But this one was different. The fairy on it this time was a dark type. He looked as if he was supported by a dark force because there was a kind of dark smoke surrounding the fairy.

Ivan pulled the book and expectedly a door opened. He walked into it and looked round before he came across an orb. But this time it was different. The orb was swirling with darkness and not like the one with silver lights in Medrian. The orb right in front of him made him feel an air of evil, darkness and trouble.
