Chapter 2

Five years had passed, and I had managed to be the top assassin in the organization.

"Heureu! Where are you going?" Cavin hissed through his earphones.

"Look, I still have an event later. I got less than an hour, so I'll have to kill him now!" I answered while fixing my gun before hopping to my motorcycle and kicking on its engine.

"Come on! That is not the plan!" Cavin yelled from the other line.

"I know! Take care of the cleaning later! Bye!" I smirked and turned off my earphones.

"Now let's kill some useless people!" I hissed before racing after a black car.

I swayed from car to car as I passed through the traffic at full speed.

Minutes later, as we entered the tunnel, I went out alone.

"Hey! Go clean it up! My job is done!" I spoke to Cavin through my earphones before speeding up to the hospital where I work.

Riding a motorcycle always makes me feel so free, like I am flying.

The sun was about to set, and the street lights started to light up one by one.

I smiled as a cold breeze touched my face as I lifted my helmet.

It didn't take me long to finally reach the hospital.

I ran to the bathroom and changed into a red dress.

I simply put up my hair and wore light lipstick.

"I thought you wouldn't make it!" William said to me as he approached me.

He looked handsome as always. I couldn't help but smile.

"I wouldn't miss it for the world. As long as you ask for me, I'll be there!" I said before walking behind him.

I saw his tensed look at me. "I want you to behave. Just tonight! All the medical personnel are present for tonight's event, so I ask that you won't be a problem tonight!"

William said before pulling my hand and ushering me to sit on a bench.

"Wait!" I told him, but he had already removed my boots and replaced them with two-inch silver heels.

"Better!" he said before standing up and walking ahead.

I smiled bitterly as I followed him.

As we entered the event hall, I could see the people I am most allergic to. Fake, high-mighty looking people boasting off their wealth with their clothes and accessories.

"Oh gosh, William! I missed you!" Ferine said before pulling William out of my sight.

I sighed.

"Ferine! As always!" I mumbled in irritation.

I finished my studies as a nurse and eventually landed a job here at one of the biggest hospitals in the world.

"Welcome everyone!" I heard the emcee announce.

I heaved and walked to a vacant seat to waste my time.

I only came here for William and nothing more.

But as expected, Ferine had already taken him away, and I had lost my chance to be with him just for tonight.

Gladly, I fell asleep and woke up to noises as Ferine danced in front with a dumb, weak-looking man. She looked so uncomfortable.

While William watched from afar, his eyes were only on Ferine.

This was more than torture. I felt like killing someone tonight!

But tonight, the guy Ferine was dancing with gave off something unusual—tingles in my chest.

"Oh gosh! I hate him!" I heard Ferine say while walking past my table.

"Yeah, right?" her friend said.

"Could you please call William for me?" Ferine said, which made me scoff bitterly.

I am a killer, but she made me feel like a less terrible person!

I sighed, stood up, and walked towards the man Ferine had a dance with just a moment ago.

I scanned the man while I approached him. He was not bad. He just looked genuinely stupid!

"Wait! What do you need?" the man asked fearfully.

I smiled.

"Kiss me," I said when I stopped in front of the man.

"What? Are you going crazy?" He said in astonishment.

I took the man's hand and hooked it around my waist, placing his other hand on my left cheek. "Well, guess what? Surprisingly, we all have craziness hidden inside us." I grinned.

"You don't know me!"

"So what? You like Ferine, don't you? You want her to be yours?" I asked him directly.

The man's mouth fell open. "How did you know?"

"When you danced a while ago, every look and every move you made screamed your desperation.

"Wow, do you have the power to judge me so harshly even though we just met?"

"Seeing desperation doesn't need any power. I only see myself in you. I also want someone, but I can't get him to be mine. Do you want to make Ferine yours?"

"Y…Yes,"

"Then kiss me. Kiss me hard!"

The man stared at me in awe and disbelief and said, "OK. I'm Nick, just in case after tonight, our paths cross again."

I saw him smile before taking my lips for a kiss.

My heart was racing.

I never felt this much emotion; even William hadn't made my heart flutter this much.

Everyone was stunned. An intense silence enveloped the entire hall. All eyes turned to the two of us.

"More," I whispered between our kisses.

"What? Isn't it okay?" Nick asked while panting.

"Use your tongue!"

I felt him twitching, and his ears almost turned red at what he heard. He let go of the kiss for a moment and looked at me, then sighed, "Stick your tongue out!"

I blushed before I opened my mouth and stuck my tongue out a little.

He smiled before devouring my mouth.

It was so intense that my body felt burning!

Every turn, every breath—he's taking every bit of my soul.

And we no longer cared about others. We were both drowning in our kisses.

I opened my eyes and saw Nick kissing me with his eyes closed. Haw naive!

Then, not far from us, William, Ferine, and four other men were approaching us.

I let go of the kiss. "They're getting closer, and I'm thinking of running away; do you want to come with me?" I offered Nick while smiling ecstatically.

He took my hand and nodded, "Let's get lost tonight!"

We ran hand in hand out of the event hall and got into the elevator.

"Quick! They might catch up on us!" I panted as we clicked on the elevator to close.

Nick got my hand again when we reached the first floor and ran outside the building before getting a taxi.

"Where to?" asked the driver.

We looked at each other and were surprised as our stomachs churned at the same time.

"At the convenience store!" we both said together and laughed.

"Hurry, Mr. Driver!" I shouted as I saw William and the other men come running outside. "Faster! Faster!"

The trip took just over an hour.

"We're here," said the driver.

"Ah, I don't have any money," Nick said shyly.

"Tsk! What kind of rich man are you anyway?" I snapped at him before paying the driver.

After paying, I got off the taxi, followed by Nick.

Without looking around, I walked into the convenience store.I went straight to the meat bun section.

"Wait for me, please!" Nick called to me, but my attention was focused on a woman who was also quickly approaching the meat bun section.

I sped up and quickly picked up the last meat bun.

But the woman was able to get hold of the meat bun first.

"Let go!" I pleaded calmly but firmly.

I noticed that this woman was very pregnant.

"But I got it first," insisted the woman.

"That's what you think."

"Can you give it to me? I'm very hungry."

"And do you think I'm not hungry?" I said, trying to smile, obviously running out of patience.

"But I'm pregnant,"

"I'm pregnant too!" I insisted, still trying to fight my meat bun.

I saw Nick in shock at my behavior, but what do I care? I could kill for a meat bun.

"What? How can you say that you are pregnant?" the woman asked in surprise as she scanned me from head to toe.

"How can you say you are pregnant?" I answered her question, which freaked her out.

"You're crazy!"

"I know! I get that a lot!"

"Argh! Whatever! Eat it all you want!" screamed the woman, who finally gave up.

I grinned and walked towards the ice cream section.

"Why did you do that to the pregnant woman?" Nick whispered behind my back.

"I only worry about her. Based on the size of her belly, she's seven to eight months. And she's fat. One more month when she lets herself out of control with foods, she'll probably be caesarian," I explained, and took five ice creams. "What do you want?"

"Wow, did angels get horns when they fell on Earth?" Nick tried to be funny.

"They died! At the height they fell from, it is unlikely that they will survive," I answered seriously.

Nick scratched his head in disbelief.

After paying, we went out onto the store's terrace deck to eat.

But we were just about to take our seats when a black car stopped in front of us and William stepped out.

"Oh no, aren't we going to run?" Nick asked in panic.

"Ah no! I am going to eat! They are probably just after you, so good bye? Wanna take home an ice cream? My treat!" I said to Nick before taking a seat.

"You are crazy!" Nick smiled before the men took him into the car.

But I gasped as I saw him grin before showing off my meat bun as the door of the car slowly closed in front of me and they drove away fast.

"I WILL KILL YOU!"
