Hero's Carnage

Lucas is a homeless teenager who had everything taken away from him— his family, his home, his childhood. Even worse, he was born without any abilities in a world where humans with superpowers dominate. All of that would change when a new dungeon appears before Lucas. Thinking that it was a sign the gods have given him— that he should just give up and end himself, Lucas enters this dungeon without hesitation while expecting death. However, inside the dungeon was not the end like Lucas had expected. Instead, it was the beginning of his life of carnage. Wielding the power of a 'Hero', Lucas begins his journey of vengeance on the world that stole everything from him.

Genius Supporter

"Where do we go to find our support?" Lucas asked Ken.

"I already have someone in mind. We just need to get him to accept." Ken said.

"Follow me."

Ken proceeded to bring Lucas outside, where they got into a car and drove away from the guild headquarter.

After driving for about five minutes, Ken parked the car in front of a tall apartment complex.

"We're here." Ken said as he stepped outside the car and approached the building.

Lucas followed him all the way to the 3rd floor.

Once they were at the end of the hall, Ken knocked on the door and shouted, "Hey, it's me!"

"..."

There was no response.

Ken knocked on the door again, "I know you're in there! Get your fat ass off the couch and open the door!"

Lucas raised his eyebrows at Ken's aggressive behavior. Should he really be acting like this if he's trying to recruit this person as their support?

A few more moments later, Lucas heard the door being unlocked.

Once the door opened, Lucas could see a round figure standing inside.

"What's up, fatso. Get dressed. We're going on a mission." Ken said.

"Mission? I thought the raid wasn't scheduled for another 2 days," said the round man.

"This is another mission."

"How come I haven't received any news about this mission?"

"Because it's not an official mission."

"Huh? Then why the hell would I go with you? What do I get out of it? I'd rather stay home and watch television all day." The man said as he picked his nose.

"If you come with us, I will tell the Team Leader about your good deeds." Ken said with a smile.

He then pointed at Lucas and continued, "This is Lucas, he's a newbie recruited by the Team Leader herself, and we're helping him level. If you also help, the Team Leader might forgive you for touching her butt."

"T-That was an accident!"

"I don't care about that. It doesn't change the fact that you'd touched it and the Team Leader is angry at you for it. Anyways, are you coming or not? It's only an Intermediate-rank dungeon, and we won't stay there for long."

The round man narrowed his eyes at Ken for a moment before responding, "Promise me that you'll let the Team Leader know that I had helped."

"I promise." Ken nodded.

"Aright. When do we go?"

"Right now!"

"..."

The man was speechless, but he didn't refuse.

"Give me a few minutes to prepare."

While the man went to prepare, Ken said to Lucas, "This might come as a surprise, but his name is Cherry despite looking like a watermelon, and he's one of our main supporters. I may mess with him all the time, but I admire his abilities. My life in raids would be a lot harder if it wasn't for his support. As for what he can do… You will understand it once we enter the dungeon."

About ten minutes later, Cherry regrouped with Ken and Lucas outside.

"Are we all ready?" Ken asked them.

But before they could even reply, Ken started the car and drove away from the apartment complex.

Sometime later, they arrived in front of the house that hosted the Intermediate-rank dungeon.

"Ain't this the place the Team Leader recently bought? The dungeon with the Red-Eyed Serpents?" Cherry recognized this place and frowned.

"You scared?" Ken asked him with a mocking smile.

"Why would I be scared? There is nothing in this place that can hurt me."

"Exactly why I brought you along."

They rang the doorbell shortly after, and an old man came out to greet them.

"Welcome, Mister Ken. And welcome back, young man." The old man remembered Lucas.

"Sorry for coming unannounced, but we're going to enter the dungeon." Ken said.

"No worries."

The old man led them to the dungeon entrance before leaving them alone.

"Before we go inside, let's get buffed up." Ken said as he looked at Cherry.

Cherry quickly began mumbling these inaudible words.

"Enforce!" He suddenly shouted while pointing his palms at Lucas and Ken.

The next moment, Lucas could feel a profound aura enveloping his body.

'My body suddenly feels lighter, and I can feel a strange energy developing somewhere inside my body…'

"This is his buffing ability— Stat Enhancement. It basically increases all of our stats by 25 percent for a short period." Ken said.

And he continued, "However, that's not all."

Lucas looked at Cherry, and sure enough, he was still mumbling to himself.

"Enforce!"

Cherry shouted again.

This time, Lucas could feel his body being wrapped by something gentle and warm.

He looked at his hand to see a thin layer of light covering it.

"Cherry is a genius supporter with 2 powerful abilities. His first ability allows him to buff our stats, and his second ability is a defensive one that casts a shield over our body. It functions the same way as my ability, but it's not as powerful. However, it can definitely take a blow without any problem and could even potentially save your life."

"Heh." Cherry held a prideful expression on his face after hearing Ken's praises.

"If he wasn't such a pervert and so round, he would be very popular." Ken ended his sentence brutally.

"If you think I won't leave right now then you are underestimating me…" Cherry narrowed his eyes at Ken.

"I'm just messing with you. Anyways, now that we have an extra layer of protection, let's enter the dungeon." Ken said.

Lucas nodded and followed them into the dungeon a moment later.
