Chapter 5 Looking after a human infant.

The waiter who went by the name Christopher led the demi god to the penthouse apartment he had bought for Ed. The elveator dinged and the trio stepped out and they followed the pathway that led to giagntic doors which Christopher drew open ushering in the man with his baby.

When Ed saw the interior of his residence, he was pleased with the human's choice.It fit his standards quite alot! The place was spacious with floor to ceiling windows standing at the last floor of the Empire hotel building, the place let in enough light and he could get to see the human city from up where he stayed. Ed personally toured himself around the premises as Christopher was busy organising the place according to the man's demands.

When he accepted to work, he didn't know the greek god would be so demanding. Not that he was complaining because he had been paid handsomely but man....this guy's standards over ceded his expectations. Once everything was done, with the little one's bed in the master bedroom and putting her necessities in her personal walk-in closet, Christopher went ahead to look for his boss.

Ed was standing at the terrace with his mate in his hands as his mind drifted off to what he needed to do. Most importantly, he needed to stay away from the humans...they seemed to have grown a crazy fondness of him as his photo was now rounding all over the ' media' as Christopher had told him. He had also told him that human reporters were very curious beings and we're going to dig information on his past. Though he was sure, they wouldn't get much from his past, right now all he needed was a peaceful environment with his mate.

"Sir Edward?" Christopher called out to the still man. This got the man's attention and he looked at Christopher questioningly. "The baby needs to fed, shower and take a change of clothings." He explained avoiding the unusual cold eyes. He had noticed that the longer he looked in those eyes, it felt like he was falling into them...it was a scary feeling.

Not that Ed was to be blamed, his eyes were of that colour for a reason...they compelled whoever looked in the them and if one wasn't strong enough, he'd loose his soul to the vampire without knowing. Though Ed really never needed this but it was in his nature to feed off other creatures. Only the royals had this previllege!

"Oh!" Ed replied and went after Chris who was leading the way to the kitchen which was made of white marble tiles that glittered wih the dim lights in the room. They had been bright lights but since they affected his eyesight, he asked for them to be changed.

Placing his mate in her crib, Ed went and took a seat where he could watch as Chris demonstrated how to prepare the little one's meal. "Since the baby is still in the first stage of her infantry, it is important to ensure extreme caution to the foods she takes. Hygiene is key....if she intakes any impurities, she could fall sick and if worse....." Chris left that part hanging when the temperature in the room drop. "The bottles must be left in hot water after washing them to ensure that they are disinfected........" The lecture concerning the human feeding went on for an hour. The lessons on how to handle the baby while she fed, incase she chocked on her milk and everything. Nothing was held back by Chris. How to operate the different appliances in the kitchen were also taught to Ed. Though Chris thought it was absurd that the man didn't even know the names of the the appliances or what they do, he still taught him and luckily, his boss was a fast learner.

They proceeded to the bedroom where the lecture on how to change the baby's clothes was to take place. The baby needed to be kept clean at all times as they became uncomfortable if their clothes were ruined. Chris demonstrated how to shower the little one but he wasn't allowed to see the female baby naked hence he used a baby maniquine.

Ed's purple eyes followed the whole process keenly..though things were weird, they weren't that hard to handle. The cry of his mate brought him back and Chris assumed she must have ruined her daipers.

Ed unclothed his mate hiding her small body from the human wih his broad frame. Chris thought the man before him was rather peculiar since he had been the one to change her when they went shopping. But he said nothing.

Ed wrapped his mate in a baby towel and strolled to the bathroom. Cuddling her in his left arm, he used his other hand to test the water temperature..he moved her shampoo and shower gel closer, a her baby sponge and everythig needed..then he went ahead to pamper and wash up his mate. Laying her on his lap with her looking up at him, he unclasped her daipers and a strong foul smell assulted his sensitive nostrils. This made him frown and search for the source of the smell. When he found the source, he looked back at his mate incredulously. "Even you do this?!" He couldn't help asking with amusement dancing in his purple eyes. The little one graced him with her toothless smile as if affirming his words.

Not wasting time, Ed went up to wash her being as careful as he could. Since he had taken something to eat, he felt that his strength had returned and was afraid he'd crush her unintentionally so he did his best to prevent that from happening.

His mate was well behaved and took her shower obediently. He wrapped her in her towel and went back to the bedroom where he saw that Chris was still waiting.

"You can leave for your work....I'll carry on from here." He spoke monotonously making rh latter nod and exit the premises without further ado.

After drying his mate and applying on her delicate skin some baby powder to protect her from rashes and rubbing oils on her skin to prevent it from drying, he picked the daiper and examined it trying to understand how it was supposed to be put on. He had been paying attention when it was being demonstrated to him but now it seemed tougher than it actually looked.

After many attempts, he finally managed to dress her up really nicely in bright pink baby suit. She was warm and cozy and it didn't take long for her to start dozing off till she fell asleep. He lay her in her crib and took a book he had acquired. He needed to learn of what had happened over the years in order to know how he'll move on from here on.

This is to let you guys know that this is a fast paced story. It's a new book and I only hope you guys will give it a chance.

I'm planning for it to be as short as 60 chapters bit if you guys show support for it, then we could have ourselves a sweet story time in the future.

I understand I'm just a beginning author even though this is what I've been doing since I was small...writing stories and reading alot of other people's stories....I hope you guys can review my works and help me grow. I don't want to believe I'm good enough when I'm actually not.....I need to get out of my comfort zone and that's going to happen with your help!!!
