Later that evening, Mi-Young got ready to go to the club. It was her turn to DJ tonight at Club Double Trouble. She felt much better after her talk with Jimin and Hobi. She was lucky to have them in her life and hopefully they would be able to talk her brother out of this arrangement. She looked herself over in the mirror and was happy with her outfit. She grabbed her equipment and headed out of her room.
She went downstairs, grabbed her keys and walked towards the door. She wondered where Vinny was as she needed him to come with her tonight. As much as she hated to have him around her all the time, she did feel much safer with him at the club. Especially if Esme was not with her, then at least she was not alone all night.
"If you're looking for Vinny, he's waiting outside for you," Nam-joon said.
"Okay," she said and turned to leave.
"Mimmi, please talk to me. I know you hate me right now but please don't shut me out," Joonie pleaded.
Mi-Young blatantly ignored her brother and walked out the door. Nam-joon stood in the hallway like a statue. The last thing he wanted was to create a rift between him and his sister. He had to somehow fix this. He took his cell phone out and made a call.
(Club Double Trouble)
Jackson was chilling at the bar waiting for Jinyoung to arrive. He was having a beer and looking around the club, hoping to catch a glimpse of Mi-Young. She was partially the reason he came to the club tonight. He hoped he could run into her again and hopefully they can start over.
His phone buzzed in his pocket. It was a text from Jinyoung:
"Hey buddy, so sorry to do this to you. I won't be able to make it tonight. I have an urgent meeting to attend to. Will make it up to you."
Jackson shrugged his shoulders and responded to Jinyoung.
"No problem"
Jackson ordered another drink and headed towards Jinyoung's VIP booth. Luckily for him, Jinyoung had given him access to his booth so he could chill whenever he attended the club without him. He wanted to be away from the crowd and he had hopes of spotting Mi-Young from the booth.
After about thirty minutes, he gave up looking for her and decided to leave the club. As he was approaching the stairs, he spotted her in the DJ booth across the club.
"Well, well, well. Miss Fierce is a DJ as well," Jackson muttered to himself.
This prompted him to stay a little longer. He wanted to see if she was any good and how she connected with the crowd.
"DJ Mimmi in the house", a female voice announced in the speakers followed by a sick beat of dance music. The crowd went crazy, clearly indicating that she was loved by the regular crowd. There were flames with every beat and every song she played. Jackson found himself bopping his head to some of her music, enjoying her set.
The dance floor was full of people dancing and some were battling each other. She connected really well with the crowd, keeping the momentum going. Mi-Young aimed to bring the house down and poured her heart and soul into her set. She continued for an hour and half before her set ended. The club's residential DJ took over and she made her way to the bar to get a drink. She was pleased with herself and she couldn't stop smiling.
"Hey Ling-Ling, get me two shots please," she ordered from the bartender.
"Coming right up," she responded.
Mi-Young's spirits were up and she was feeling very happy for a change.
"Nice set," she heard a familiar voice say.
She knew who that voice belonged to. Her happiness was short-lived as she knew this was going to end badly. She turned to face the person speaking to her and just as she thought, it was none other than Jackson Wang.
"Oh man, you again," she moaned, "It's official, you're definitely stalking me."
"Why are you so sure that I'm stalking you?" he asked, "And besides, I just complimented you. A thank you would be nice."
Mi-Young looked at the man in front of her, not sure of what to say next. She shrugged her shoulders and tilted her head to the side. She observed him, trying to determine if he had a shady side at all.
"Thank you," she said, before turning her back to him. She downed both her shots before heading back to the booth to get her equipment.
"Wait," Jackson said and caught her by her arm, "Can I at least buy you a drink?"
"I believe we had this conversation before, and my answer is still no," Mimmi said clearly annoyed.
"Please, just one drink. Take it as an apology for what happened earlier," he pleaded.
Remembering their confrontation earlier, Mi-Young had sworn to kill the man if she ever ran into him again. Now he was offering to buy her a drink as an apology. She couldn't figure out his motive but if he thought she was easy, then he thought wrong.
"Please, I would like for us to start off with a clean slate," Jackson said with a pleading look.
"Okay, only one drink. A strawberry daiquiri," she said in defeat.
Jackson smiled and placed the order. He asked the waiter to get it sent to booth number six. He finally had a chance to get to know Mi-Young and he wanted to make the most of it.
