Jasmine sat in her home studio composing a song. She wore a black comfortable sweat pant and a strapless top that fit her petite frame like a second skin. Her cap was turned backwards holding her hair in place.
She was deep in thoughts as she rearranged the lyrics one more time. She read through the notes but her heart was not contented with the finished product. The lyric was good but it lacked something. What it lacked , she had no idea.
As she tried playing on the piano, it sounded plain to her ears. She needed to spice things up. As she stared on the paper, she could feel her mind turning into it self. She needed a break.
She stood up from her stool as her 5'9 frame stretched. She was alone in the mansion since her family members all went to work. Putting on her mask. She changed into a sport bra and a black jumper as she jogged out of the house. Their mansion was located in one of the high end regions of town.
The estates were private and so was the forest in the region. There were restaurants, parks and resting places in the area. Jasmine jogged around until she felt tired. She moved towards the bench that was in on the way.
As she sat down, she could feel her sweat covered back cool from the shade of the trees . She looked around the place in search of a shop. As she stood up to walk towards the shop she didn't notice the bicycle that was moving towards her at a very high speed. The man riding the bicycle was on the phone and didn't notice jasmine.
The collision happened as the bicycle hit the girl from the side. Its wheel moved on her left foot making her screech in pain. Levi fell from the bicycle his heart pounding in his chest. Jasmine on the other hand cried in pain as she held onto her ankle. Her right elbow was bleeding and her left foot was strained.
Unknown to her, the silver mask she always wore had fallen from her face revealing her exquisite features to the man. Levi looked towards the direction of the girl and for a minute sat on the ground frozen. His eyes were glued to the face that looked like it was from a painting.
Her features were wild but exotic. Her eyes resembles the verdant hills that shone like emeralds against the clear blue sky. Unfortunately, her eyes were shinning with unshed tears of pain. She was extremely disoriented such that her exposed face hadn't alerted her yet.
Levi's lips wanted to ask if she was alright but instead he ended up saying, " You are breathtaking." The pain in her eyes was replaced by panic as she looked around for her mask. Her eyes fell on it and she struggled to reach for it. Seeing her frantic action, the man stood up and took the mask that laid beside him handing it over to her.
She took it and wore it over her face, finally hiding her face from the world. It was then that Levi went back to his senses. He walked towards her and held out his hand intending to help her up. Jasmine looked at his hands and glared at him in anger.
"what were you thinking about cycling while you were on the phone? Do you think you own the road," she scolded feeling the sharp pain in her ankle. Levi looked at his hands that was hanging in the air. He took back his hand and scratched the back of his head.
"I am sorry, that was not intentional. I was being careless. Let me help you up at least! I feel guilty for hurting you. " She watched the man apologize but her guard was not down yet. Her experience with Lorenzo was enough lesson to last a life time. As she sat in the middle of the walking trail, a light bulb flicked in her head.
She finally understood what the lyrics she had wrote lacked. It lacked drama and fury. The lyric was meant to show aggrievances. The pain was there, but it was only that. Pain. Now as she repeated her words in her head, she had an epiphany. This accident was not all bad after all. It had some sort of benefits for her.
The smoldering look in her eyes lessened as she stood up still in pain. She didn't like being touched by strangers. She stood up in pain and felt for her phone in her jumper. Looking at the screen that was still intact she let out a sigh of relief as she limped back towards the chair. She had wanted to buy some water initially but now, she just wanted to go back to her studio and finish her master piece.
She ignored the man's presence and made a call. She needed someone to help her get back home. Beau was the first on her call list but he didn't pick up. It was enough to make her deduce that the man was busy somewhere. She attempted to call her brothers one by one but no one picked . The last person she called was Max. She had almost given up when he picked his phone.
" Princess, what's up? Do you need something.? He asked. Jasmine cleared her throat and spoke into the phone. " Umm, am alright. Just had a little accident and need help to get back home. Are you free ? Did I interrupt an important work? " she asked unsure of herself.
Levi who had been long forgotten stood there watching the girl. Why would such a beautiful girl wear a mask to hide her face? Is she in danger or something? Who is she hiding from? He felt curiosity bubble up within him. It was rare , for any woman to ignore his looks. If he could say so himself, he was one of the most handsome men in the country. His face was not the main portrait for the men's fashion magazine for nothing.
Yet the girl didn't look affected by him. In fact her behavior was cold and guarded. He walked towards the girl and waited for her to finish her call. His gaze fell on her swollen ankle which made his guilt increase. This was his fault. His eyes moved up slowly and carefully trying to look for any other injuries on her body.
The girl was facing away from him hence he could see clearly the blood stain on her elbow. This was weird but he could almost feel the pain she was trying to cover. As she spoke on the phone, her voice was soft and loving. Levi watched feeling jealous at how she could easily talk to the other person. She had literally scolded him and glared at him. He pouted feeling wronged.
Jasmine placed back her phone and looked around. She was thirsty and in pain. Irritation was evident in her eyes as her gaze fell on the man who stood silently watching her. " Is there anything I can help you with? You are making me uncomfortable. " Levi didn't want to leave without getting the girl's information. Even if it would be just her name.
" I feel guilty for causing your injuries hence would like to take you to the hospital or pay for the bills at least." The man held out a business card . Jasmine decided to take the card so that the man can disappear. Levi left with his bicycle after noticing the irritation in the girl's eyes . I hope to hear from you and get to see you soon, he thought walking away from him.
