Morning came quicker than Skai had thought the night would stay.
She took a few minutes pondering on what to do. It was clear her stay at her current apartment had been jeopardised.
'Shane, your gift came at the perfect time. I guess I need to move out now.'
Knowing she could be more protected security-wise before Damein or Jared could come to her aid gave her heart a certain calmness.
"I should give Jared a call." Skai reached into her back pocket when she recalled Damien had sneaked away last night, taking her phone with her.
"That dick," she gritted. She scanned around, her eyes falling on a telephone by the table. Skai's smile spread out as she immediately picked it up.
"Good thing I memorised their numbers."
Tap! Tap! Tap!
Ring! Ring!
Skai bit the inside of her lips, waiting for Jared to pick up. His shallow breath came up before he gave his calm response. "Hello?"
