When he walked in on them, Skai failed to notice his presence, keeping her attention on the handsome stranger.
Jared, on the other hand, sensed an intruder walking towards them but did not flinch. No one mattered compared to Skai, the woman who had his heart in her hands.
"No one should feel sorry for their existence. Just because others cannot bear it doesn't mean you should feel bad," Jared explained to Skai.
"I…" she lowered her gaze. How was she going to explain it to make him understand? "It isn't that they cannot bear…"
"I looked all over for you," the chilly, deep voice interjected. "I didn't know that while I busied myself for the company's benefit, you were out here, flirting, Skai."
Damien hinted so much at the last word, leaving Skai confused at his accusation.
It was one thing for her useless scum to assume the worst of her and she tried to ignore it given that she first loved him.
