Silence descended on the call. The only sound heard was Kairav's deep breath which pissed Sydney off.
"I demand an answer. Where is she? Is she alive?" Sydney questioned, her voice booming with her rage.
"Skai's alive."
Sydney raked her fingers through her hair, releasing a deep breath.
'Kill me somebody!'
"We couldn't accomplish the mission," Kairav's low voice pulled her back.
"Excuse me?" She dropped her hand and moved towards the window, checking the vicinity. "You had one simple task. Kill Skai Jayden." Her voice came off low, not wanting to drag too much attention her way.
"Simple?" Kairav tsked. "You call having Jared intervene and defend Skai simple? Maybe you shouldn't have failed to mention that aspect first."
