Store 1

On a large scale of things, King Avatar was the only game that could be dangerous. Its store also had the most insane items.

These items were so exaggerated that he could not imagine how they would be actualized in this world.

But assuming this was a digital world running on code and programming, he was sure there was a way.

If those insane characters from Duty Call met cultivation and some insane weapons from King Avatar, he shuddered at the thought.

He had to block them.

He had already done everything to make farming for EXP difficult, now all he needed was to make leveling up and using auxiliary items difficult.

It was easier to manipulate these aspects and he would put as many hurdles as possible. But before that, he needed to sort out all the equipment and organize the store.

Game currency was quite impractical in real life and he wanted to tie it to real-life resources. That was also a function he needed to add to the store.

First, he had to make the drop rate of items extremely low. Getting drops at the early stages would be easy, but they were all trash.

Only the store would be reliable.

He could not get rid of equipment drops straight up, but he could make the probability of dropping equipment insanely low. Instead, he was going to replace it with materials.

Material drops were better since not many people could forge a good weapon even given good resources.

He also increased the threshold of leveling such occupations.

Things like weapon smithy and alchemy were very hard to learn and even harder to level up. They required insane amounts of resources just to learn and practice. A lot of wealth was required for this and it was better to just sell the materials to the store to buy other equipment from there.

That was also a feature he had to adjust.

The prices would naturally sort themselves out, but he had to establish a standard.

The merger had messed up the price of some things. The most powerful weapon in Duty Call might be more expensive than a legendary weapon from King Avatar or Avalon.

Some items in King Avatar might undermine the items in Avalon. Something like MP and HP potions.

These were the main source of income for the church in Avalon. But King Avatar had similar products, some even had better effects than the potions from the church.

If they could be bought for cheap as they usually were, the whole church would collapse.

While it had little effect on him, he did not know what kind of butterfly effect these seemingly insignificant changes would cause.

He had to adjust these things and make the threshold for using them very unfavorable.

Speaking of the church, it also reminded him of resurrection and respawn points. He would mess with those later.

The store was divided into multiple sections with there being 5 major sections to separate the products from the different games.

The items from High School Harem were the most bizarre. But these same items could give the people in the early levels an insane advantage.

Something like the body refinement potion. This potion was meant to give the character a more perfect physical body. The symmetrical muscles, chisel jaws, immortal face, and all that crap. It could give the character such attributes.

The insane part was that they could be used over and over, making the character as perfect as the game allowed it.

He did not know how the system worked over here, but he was sure that it would have no limit if this feature was left unchecked.

Sam could see people using this potion to max out a level and get extra attributes on the side.

One had to remember that attributes had no leveling cap. A character could add attributes to themselves infinitely.

Unfortunately, this was one of the features he could not change.

And all that was just a body refinement potion. Now imagine the charm potion or the luck potion. If these things were left like that… he shuddered at the thought.

He did not have enough chances to change everything one by one, thus he decided to be ruthless even if he also lost a lot of things.

First, was to level-lock all the loot and equipment.

It meant that all equipment and drops had a level lock feature. If the level requirement was not met, using some items would be harmful. Other items would not even show any effect.

He also made using equipment of a lower level disadvantageous. He had seen many examples of protagonists who somehow managed to use grass as swords and split the universe. He did not understand it and was not in a hurry to figure it out.

Second, he standardized the level of equipment, potions, and such items.

He grouped them from level 1 to level 100. Each level would correspond with the level of characters.

Level 1 equipment could be used by characters from level 1 to level 10. Stronger characters could still use it, but the effectiveness would decrease. A level 20 character could only use 50% power of a level 1 item.

This was not the conventional way, but he had to do it for his safety.

A level 10 character could not use a level 2 item even if he had it. It might even cause a backlash so severe as to cause death.

Third was limiting the number of times a single character could use an item.

He did not want to see characters abuse potions or loot to level up stats or attributes. He might not place a limit on the attributes, but he sure as hell wasn't gonna give them an easy time.

He put a limit on 5 uses. Except for HP and MP potions, all other consumables could only be used five times at most. After five times, they could only be useful for recovering stamina, HP, and MP.
