"I might look drunk, Your Highness," she gulped. "But I'm not. This is my first and last warning to you. If you don't stay away from me, I will surely destroy you and your people." "Are you sure?" His gray eye interlocked into hers. Hazel rolled her eyes and held the hem of her dress so that she wouldn't trip. She could barely see now, especially with the aid of that terrible headache raking her skull. However, just a slight error and she wobbled all over him. His grip was held tightly to her waist but she pushed him away from her as she said, "Husband, you mistake lust for love. This is a warning, you will regret this." "Wife, there is a lot you need to learn from me. Like knowing how to tell a lie. Nevertheless, I shall give you another two weeks to take an act of revenge on me, if you don't succeed, I won't hesitate to make you mine even against your wish. If you do succeed, I am happy to die in your hands." He continued, whispering along her earlobe since he knew she would be unaware of what they had discussed the next morning, "It is like killing two birds with a stone, I will be able to fulfill my promise about keeping you away from evils. You would be able to protect yourself against me." As he said those words, he clenched his jaw. "It's funny how I am the evil you need to hide from, the one who has and will hurt you the most." *** HAZEL COLESHILL, a 22-year-old vampiress who had a very terrifying past with a werewolf, pledged to protect her clan by sacrificing herself to the werewolves as part of a truce. The war between the werewolves and vampires seems to be neverending, will these two people end the war between the two creatures, or create a tougher war? EXCERPT 2 "How does it happen?" "Possessing your shadow in the walls is really helpful. Shadows are meant to be the most vigorous reflections. They attack your enemy if you can control them and then hide back in the walls. They break walls and are extremely powerful." Hazel sighed softly before she said, "Let's go back to the last one. Possessing beings just by staring at them in the eyes." "Have you heard about the rule majorly known among humans?" "What rule?" "The rule about," she raised her two index fingers up and then curled them, signaling a quote. "The rule about not looking into a vampire's eyes?" Hazel shook her head. "The rule about vampires possessing humans when the humans stare at them is as old as the mountains, however, it can also be said to be a superstition but it is not a superstition for some special ones among us." Fannie looked at Hazel intently before saying, "Someone like you, Lady Coleshill. You have the ability to possess beings just by staring at them Warning: Mature Content, Sexual Content and Heavy Fantasy.
Hazel's eyes widened as she saw the guard leave quietly while leaving her alone with this deadly-looking man.
Whatever his name was, she cared less and all that she wanted to do was to scream for help even though he had not done anything.
Hazel looked around, a thought dumping on each other but those thoughts were meaningless. She could not escape, even though she escaped she knew what she would have to face for surrendering just in a day.
Even though she tried attempting, she could already see her failure glaring at her with hopeless teeth, waiting for the right time to gnash on her skin.
She shook her head as she let herself know that running away was not the right choice. It shouldn't even be in her choices as she was chained and could barely stand, let alone, run from this werewolf who could just catch her in a blink of an eye.
The man came to her slowly and all that she had to do was to walk backward, he looked like he could pierce her eyes off, so she immediately lowered her gaze. Doing all in her might not be too close to him.
Why did she have to meet someone like this?
"Open those eyes of yours, woman," he said and she only lifted her eyes.
The last thing she would do was to let this man know that she was tired and broken and that they had easily broken her when it was just a day. She did her best not to show her weakness.
"My eyes are open," she said, her voice a bit softer than her former words but fortunately, she did not break her words this time when he looked at her with his piercing eyes.
His eyes were becoming scary as they stayed longer on her face. She had no idea what he was thinking but then, she could feel that he knew all that she was thinking.
She was useless, if it were any other vampire, she could have heard his thoughts when she was this close to him, especially when her eyes were fixed on his.
Tired of the staring competition, she blinked and walked back a little but he kept attacking her as he came forward.
This kept bothering her and she immediately took a long drag to the back, only to be unexpectedly hit by the wall, "Let me go!"
He only smirked when he spot the fright in her. "I haven't even touched you," he said, with an underlying wicked tone. He looked at her as if he was basically going through the pain of controlling himself from strangling her.
His fingers walked up to her naked collarbone slowly, which made her tremble a little, and then his hand went to her back and cupped her long red hair in his arm, which fell on his hand and his arm like he was wrapped in furs. "No difference, but still, you have grown so much, angel."
Hazel's eyes locked on his. She was wondering what he meant by whatever he had just uttered. Those words did not make any sense even the more she thought about it. Who was this bleeding man and then what right did he have to touch her as if he owned her?
Wasn't he just a beta?
She glanced at her both handcuffed hands and immediately pushed away his hand on her neck with them. A small, sharp edge of the cuff tore his skin with that process but it healed almost immediately, a little slower than she had seen vampires heal.
"Don't even touch me with your stinky and bloody hand."
The exact time she uttered those words, he grabbed her hair, pushing her head forward so that her lips were almost touching his skin but then, he pushed her head back with force and her head ended up hitting the wall again. A loud groan erupted from her.
She was forced to rub that part off with her palm but unfortunately, she was cuffed and this man didn't even give her enough space to do whatsoever she wanted to do.
"Who do you think you are to be strong-headed when with me, huh?"
She looked at him, a random headache appeared on her forehead after vanishing from the back of her head. But then she was speechless. She just didn't know what to say. She knew that it was best she stopped talking and acting, or else she might not even survive this night if the full moon appears. She would even be dead already if it happens just exactly when they were still here.
He grabbed her arm ruthlessly and breathed, "You this sly needed to be taught a lesson by me."
She was forced to ask if this man knew her or if she was a reincarnation of someone he hated just like in the book she had read, titled Stuck With The Devil. There had been a lot of rumour that the book was a true life story and it happened in Venesia, the place she resides now.
She jotted that idea off her memory and focused on the cruel beta.
Why did he have to be mean to her when she had done nothing to harm him?
Oh no... she couldn't believe she was told that tearing his skin was the reason he had developed a sudden hatred towards her. Her mind was surely joking with her.
That was wrong because, before that, he had already been this harsh to her.
He had told them to burn her alive to test her immortality.
That was the most stupid thing she had ever heard before but she was amazed by the fact that the whole pack members still supported him despite all this.
Before she knew it, she was dragged to another corridor, her body was weak as they walked across the corridor but then, he didn't mind, he walked fast making her whole body tremble.
She was already hungry. She had only eaten early this morning but then nothing till this time. Even the nourishing drink that she was used to having every morning, afternoon, and night was deprived of her but then she became so quiet when she recalled that she had been drinking the human blood she had sworn never to drink again.
She felt reckless.
Insane.
Emotionless.
Stupid and cruel.
But little did she realise that she was nothing close to all that she had described now and the man pulling her was just the exact copy.
The man then pulled her out of her reverie by his cold and incoherent words, "If you want to be alive till whenever, pretend you have never seen anyone here before, okay?"
