"Final solution?!"  Leo shouted. "Explain Angel."

"Error. Insufficient access level for final solution."  Angel explained. "Only those within the progenitor's army or high enough status are granted access.  Query. Do you wish to join the progenitor army?"

Leo did not think about the gravity of his next words.  The curiosity had him.  "Yes, just tell me what the final solution was."

"Scanning." Angel said.  "Class, Fighter. Level, one. Scanning.  Injury detected, correcting."  The gashes around Leo's body began to burn with intense heat as they closed and healed.  It was a painful experience that caused him to fall to one knee.  "Injury corrected. Scanning.  No abnormalities found. Welcome to the progenitor army, level one fighter, Leo."

"What did you just do."  Leo said as he got back up to his feet.  "That hurt, that hurt a lot."

"Query confirmed."  Angel said.  "Nano bots were injected into your dermis to correct injuries.  All members of the army are injected with Nanobots.  Standard protocol was followed."

"Shit, so I have little robots in me now?"  Leo said with an unsettled expression.  "Also what did you mean by level one?"

"Query confirmed." Angel said.  "Displaying status."  A screen made of light appeared in front of Leo's eyes.  On the screen was his name, his class, his level, and all of his stats.  "As you can see, you are level one.  You may raise your level two ways. Path one, work hard and raise your stats. Path two, kill demons.  Their blood fuels my energy.  I can use that energy to have the Nanobots increase your stats."

"This is…"  Leo paused for a moment. "This is just like a game?!  The fuck is going on?!"

"Query unknown."  Angel said. "Intercourse with spear unadvised. Massive internal damage possible."

"No I don't want to fuck you!" Leo shouted.  "Let's just move on, we have been talking too long and the fire is raging.  We need to find a way to escape."

"Escape protocol confirmed." Angel said as it began to glow in Leo's hands.  "Commencing escape."  Leo felt an odd sensation in his body, as if he was being pulled by an outside force. Suddenly everything went dark.  When Leo opened his eyes, he was in an unfamiliar room.  The walls were lined with monitors of a type he had never seen, as if they were made of crystal.  In the center of the room was a rack of assorted armors.  At first the room was dimly lit but as time progressed the lights brightened.

The monitors flickered to life revealing scenes from around the world.  Demons were rampaging and annihilating everything in their path.  "This is a command center of some sort Angel?"  Leo asked his spear.

"Query confirmed."  Angel said.  "Current location, safe house.  Default escape location."

"How did that even work?"  Leo asked.  "We just teleported didn't we?  Teleportation doesn't even exist!"

"Access Denied."  Angel said.  "Higher level is required for that knowledge.  Playing welcome video now."

All of the screens in the room changed to a single white image and a man in a military style uniform appeared in them.  "Hello, I am sure you have a lot of questions, descendant, but please try to remain calm and listen."  The man on the screen said.  "If you are here seeing this message it means our final solution failed, that the demon race have broken their bonds.  I am so sorry.  This always means you found the last of the angels, and that you had the correct biomarkers to wield it.  I will not say if you were lucky or unlucky.  I will only say that you are the only hope for the entire universe."

Leo fell onto the floor upon hearing those words.  "You can't be serious, I can't be the hero!"  Leo shouted.  "I am just a gamer!"

"I know it must be hard to hear that."  The man continued.  "You have been thrust into a world that you cannot hope to fathom, and at the same time asked to save everything.  I know it isn't fair, but being the one with the last angel, this task falls to you.  Let me explain how everything started, how my race doomed the universe."

Leo crossed his legs and listened intently as this was what he wanted to hear.

"My people spanned the galaxies of the universe eons before your time."  The man explained.  "We were a proud people, a race that thought itself better than everything else  in the universe.  In our folly, we thought ourselves greater than everything in the multiverse as well.  We thought why stop at just one universe when there is an entire multiverse to conquer.  Our top scientists opened a portal to another universe that sat parallel to our own, like a shadow universe.  One that lived in the dark of our light.  It being the closest universe made it an easy first target.  We were wrong.  Dead wrong."

There was a long pause on the screen and Leo became uneasy.  "Angel is there something wrong with the video?"  He asked.

"Scanning."  Angel said.  "Video corruption detected.  Attempting fix."

The screen flashed a few times and then the man continued his tale. "Opening the portal was our single greatest mistake.  We never dreamed of the horrors that lived on the other side.  It did not take long for our entire galactic civilization to fall to such beasts.  The only world left was this one. A small colony out in the middle of nowhere, in a backwater galaxy.  But it was here that we made our last stand, our final solution.  Using our very life force and our technology we were able to trap the demons that were on the planet and set off a shockwave that wiped them from the rest of the universe.  Sadly, it wiped out what survivors we had as well.  We sealed away our technology and lived among the locals.  We only kept one Angel with us, just in case our seal failed.  The fact you are here means that it did."
