A Little Spar.

Slowly, the curtain was drawn for one's perspective. At first, the view of the beautiful night sky was a bit blurry but then, after a few blinks, the night's view became clear.

The cool breeze blew past him and the view gets shut in order to fully savour the feeling of refreshment.

The view suddenly changed as the viewer seems to be looking for someone. The view goes past the trees from the left then to the right and before him was the sight of Brianna training with her warhammer.

The sight, although unexpectedly, looked beautiful and captivating as well.

The swings aligned with the flow of the mana trail being left behind by the warhammer made her moves look magical.

Liam slowly stood up and walked towards Brianna but as soon as he came to a distance, not far but close enough to speak out to her hearing, he couldn't go further, as if there was a barrier placed and indeed, there was.

Liam wasn't bothered but rather had his eyes locked on her performance. He was so lost that Brianna took him by surprise as she points the hammer's tip at him.

Liam on the other hand was surprised not just about how the hammer was suddenly pointed at her but rather, on how she is able to point the hammer on him while holding on it with only her left hand.

"A spar?" Brianna offered.

"Would love to." Liam took on the offer and suddenly summoned his own weapon.

The two took their stance, Liam casually swinging the chains while Brianna holding onto her warhammer on its handle, close to the head.

The two at first were casually staring at each other and managed to match their breathing and immediately they breathed out for the third time in harmony, they charged against each other.

Liam's first move was to swing his chain over the hammer's languet and pulled on it in order to aid himself to jump higher, thereby causing Brianna to pause for a moment and stay in defence as she waits on Liam to get back on the same geographical level with her.

As for Liam, while in air, he channels his sickle to go after Brianna with its trajectory being her head.

As he was doing that, he holds onto his right sickle and engaged himself in a free fall.

Brianna on the other hand, dodges the oncoming sickle and held onto its chain and pulled on it, thereby, dragging Liam down.

As Liam was about to get to the ground, he sends forth his other sickle at her before falling to the ground completely safe.

Not expecting the sudden attack from Liam, she managed to make a free fall backwards, completely evading Liam's attack.

Liam gained his balance and withdrew his sickles, thereby, preparing for another attack.

As soon as Liam closed the distance between him and Brianna, it was found out that she was actually waiting on him and suddenly kicked upwards against Liam, who suddenly blocked with his arms out of reflex.

Liam's take in blocking gave Brianna a chance to roll backwards on the ground while simultaneously picking up her hammer and standing up.

Not hesitating for a single second, she charged in on Liam who is just recovering from the surprise.

The first swing from Brianna against Liam with her hammer came with a whistling sound. Not just does the attack looks like it will really hurt but the whistling sound aids in making the attack seem terrifying.

Liam on the other hand manages to duck downwards and in an instant, Brianna sets her foot forward and stomps on the ground to gain control of the hammer's momentum and forces the hammer to go downwards on Liam.

Her action was so quick that even though Liam was able to dodge in time, as the hammer hits the ground, it was inches away from Liam's groin.

"Damn girl!! Are you for real !!?" Liam exclaims as he rolls back on the ground and get up but once again, before him is Brianna's serious face.

Another swing came at Liam but this time around, he did not attempt to dodge but instead, transform his sickles back to a scythe and blocked with it.

Surprisingly, Brianna was so flexible and strong that she quickly picked up the hammer in an instant as if it was actually a sword at hand and went in for another swing.

This time around, she bent low to go for Liam's legs but Liam was quick enough to set his scythe's tip into the ground while using it to aid him in having himself lifted.

Legs high up, his two hands on the scythe's snath and as soon as the hammer succeeded in hitting off Liam's scythe, he was able to spin round while keeping the scythe's toe's trajectory against Brianna's head, there by, countering Brianna's failed attack.

"Sike!!" Brianna exclaimed as she rolls off, abandoning her hammer and rabbit kicked Liam's right ribs, sending him off to the other side.

"I got a hit in!" Brianna announced excitedly.

"Hahaha, that's underhanded." Liam protested.

"Don't care, there's no wrong or right in a battlefield against an enemy."

"Yeah, you do have a point." Liam says as he takes a sitting position on the ground.

Brianna takes the chance and opened up a portal, dips in her hand and brings out another beer bottle.

She took the chance to have a look at Liam out of curiosity only to be met with a facial expression that speaks out the word, "disappointed".

"Come on, don't give me that look." She suggests.

With that statement, Liam stared harder at her there by causing her to be a bit uncomfortable.

"Alright then but at least, get up we still have a destination to reach." She ordered and Liam happily got up and went to gather up his properties.

As they began their journey once again, at first it was peaceful as Liam have already terminated any possible threat that could obstruct their way.

Then again, he hunted pelx and not all different kinds of monsters. Amongst animals, if a boundary which is normally being protected by a particular predator looses it's protector, the other animals will of course, slowly tread on the land with the attempt to acquire more territory or relocate.

In this case, it was so for Liam and Brianna who are constantly crossing paths with different beasts.

This caused the two to be on a constant murderous rampage until they actually appeared in front of a city's gate and unfortunately for them, they couldn't find any river nor stream in order to clean up the blood splattered over them.

The two walked towards the city walls which is being guarded by the city guards.

Although there was a rise in sudden suspicion against the two, after various identity verification and questioning, the two were allowed to move on into the city.

The two couldn't afford to waste anymore time as that very day was the last day for registration as they sun is already up and it is deep into noon.

After making enquiries, which of course was a bit difficult as the people they met up with were scared at first before regaining themselves back.

The enquiring took a ton out of them and they had to make another two hours journey to the academy and upon arrival, the academy's gate was almost closed.

The duo had to fought for entrance and after minutes of fighting, begging, scolding and finally, drama, the two were then allowed to enter.

"So, you're saying that the names are Liam Falls and Brianna Ranford?" the registrar asked.

"Absolutely!" Liam and Brianna replied in harmony as they show off their teeth while their faces are covered in blood.

"Uhm… okay? So, the registration costs fifty bronze coins." The registrar who was actually concerned of the view in front of her before deciding to just ignore it, goes on with charging them for registration.

Brianna creates a portal once more, sticks in her left hand and brings out a pouch and from it, a silver coin was brought out and placed on the table in front of the registrar.

"I will be paying for us both." Says Brianna as she puts back her pouch into the portal and closes up the portal.

"Good, here's your participating card." The registrar says as she hands a card each to the both.

"Now, have a good time in your admission tests." Once again, the registrar says with a smile and snaps her finger and the two disappeared in thin air.

The duo then appeared amongst a crowd which obviously looked like other people who came to take the entrance examinations.

It was a bit mesmerising to see that the applicants for the examination was over hundreds, enough to achieve half a thousand.

Brianna paid no mind as she opens up her little portal once again and this time around, Liam did not let her slide as he grabs onto her left wrist which was inches away to get into the portal.

"Huh!?" Brianna gave a daring facial expression while in response, Liam stared daggers into her eyes as of the duo were testing each other's patience.

While they two were in an arguing form, the blood over their faces obviously attracted attention towards them.

All eyes fell on them and the murmuring became louder, there by causing the two to land in an uncomfortable situation.

"Welcome Participants!!" a voice echoed loud enough in the hall, enough to attract everyone's attention.

"Welcome to the Everglade Academy!!"
