["I'm sorry for joking about it, Hel. I know it's hard for you."]
I tensed up, breaking eye contact with Oliver, suddenly consumed by a throat-tightening sadness. "Hey, what is it?" Oliver asked, sounding concerned.
"Nothing," but I avoided meeting his eyes. "Thanks for the help. And you really shouldn't kneel like that, vampire. People can see it and take it as a weakness." Then I got up. "Believe me when I tell you, you shouldn't show your weakness to anyone, because they will make sure to go and rip that apart from you, just to show that they are in power."
But he held my forearm when I tried to turn around, making me halt again and look at him, "What is it? You got suddenly strange."
I scoffed bitterly, "I am strange. You don't know me."
"I'm trying to change that," he countered.
Clenching my jaw I avoided his eyes and turned around, "I need to get Jack's blood. Or he might go around killing and drying the blood of all the pets in the campus. No one will like that."
"You gold cold again," he complained coming to my side as I strode towards the communal dining room after sending my gym shoes to my ring. "Is it because we are from different races, Hel? Because you should know that I couldn't give two shites about that bloody difference."
I gulped, feeling sick, still not looking at him, "Yes," I lied. "That's one of the reasons. If you knew what I am, you would never forsake your possible descendants to being related to my kind, vampire."
He growled annoyed, "I don't believe you."
["And he's right, since you're lying!"]
I need to. "That's on you," I shrugged, and ignored him altogether as I entered the place that was fully packed with students already, and I recognized all the faces I saw yesterday, except for Felix who's probably hiding. And it was when I let my eyes run through them that I saw it.
A girl and boy sitting together on a table on the easternmost side of the room, he was with a dark skinned girl that look extremely gorgeous and an awful lot like Noah whom I met yesterday, and the girl was with a slander boy with pouty ears and long black hair looking like a model of Chanel. And by how the girl and the boy look infuriatingly similar to Philippa, I knew who they were right away.
The similarity with their mother, who helped murder mine, threw me off my ground and I would have fallen if I wasn't being so stone still, jaw and fists clenched, fury on my eyes. And as my dearest half-siblings' eyes met mine across the room, I noticed that Agost's had the same baby blue eyes I had when I was a child, which matches mom's description of my… our father's eyes, while Nicolette's are molten gold, like her damned mother.
I think Oliver said something behind me, but my mind shut out and I couldn't hear shite. And as I assumed a condescending look with a smug on, I found myself going straight to where the two dragons were.
"What's your name?" I asked them, with a smug, pretending not to know. "You look an awful lot like someone I was unfortunate to know!"
They both stood up, and when I realized they were both taller than me, I got annoyed and acted pettily enough to use my telekinesis to make me float at Agost's height, a bit taller than Nicolette, not caring if they think I'm acting like a child or not. Damned Philippa and her 1.77m of height, added with my father supposed being near 1.90m, there was no way of them being short.
It's still humiliating though. Especially because mom was 1.75m, I have absolutely no idea where I got my shorter height from. And though I never cared about that before, I'm Goddess-damn bloody pissed at it now. Was it because I only had 10 years to grow, and I used my time magic to slow time? Did it fuck my growth?
"So?" I arched my eyebrows demandingly.
After sharing a weird look, Agost turned to me again, "I'm Agost Balthazar Bloom, and this is my younger sister, Nicolette Louisa Bloom. It's nice to finally formally meet you, Wilhelmina!"
Is he messing with me? "Hel," I corrected him, not caring if I'm or not sounding arrogant. "And I can't say I share the same feelings than you, Dragon Prince," then I turned to Nicolette who was pressing her lips tight together. "Can't you speak?"
"I-I... I'm Nicolette Louisa Bloom, but you can call me Louisa!"
Scoff, "Did you just stuttered?" Seems like grandma dearest was only tough with me, which makes me even more pissed. "You look like Philippa, Nicolette."
And she had the audacity of blushing, "Thank you, Hel!"
I glared at her with disgust, "It was not a compliment."
"You don't need to be so fucking rude to her," the long haired boy exclaimed annoyed, and when I glared at him, he gulped. Is he what? Her boyfriend? He's hot and all, but weak. At least, weaker than me.
["He's an elf!"]
No shit? I can see his ear. "I don't think this conversation evolved the likes of you, American elf," and by how his eyes twitched, he got very offended. As intended. Well, his blue eyes are very beautiful. In fact, it's weird that there's so many people with blue eyes in here, bloody fucking weird.
"My name is Melvin Ambrose, not American elf."
Oh, Crone, they are so easily annoyed, "Did I ask?" I flashed my fangs viciously, and turned to the dark skinned girl. "What's your name?"
She blinked, shocked for a second, "Kalisha."
"Wolf shifter," I clicked my tongue. "Are you related to Noah?"
A nod, "Twin siblings."
This time I smiled genuinely, "I have to say, I've looked at many faces since I've arrived in here, but you are definitely the most beautiful female in here. Really gorgeous, your beauty sign must work well," I said after noting that she also had what Oliver called dimples. "Mine is broken."
And when she laughed, she got even prettier, "What?"
"The vampire behind me told me that those small cheek holes, he called dimples, are a beauty sign. Mine is broken, but yours, like his, seem to work really well. You are really gorgeous," I used my telekinesis to take me to her, who's also tall, around 1.79m. "You chocolate skin is outstanding and your silver eyes remind me of diamonds. You're definitely the most good-looking sibling."
Eyes widened, she blushed, "T-t-thank you, Hel!"
"What? You don't need to thank me. I didn't do anything," I arched my eyebrows in confusion. "You date Agost?"
A nod, "Y-yes."
"Hm," I glared at him, analyzing my little brother from head to toe, "He does have good looks. He's lucky that he doesn't resemble his mother much," I mocked, turning to her. "But you're more gorgeous than he is."
Out of nowhere, Oliver faded to her side, glaring from her to me, "Are you hitting on her?" He questioned me annoyed.
I frowned, "Hitting? I'm not being aggressive right now!" They all seemed to find my statement funny for some weird reason, which annoyed me even more. "Are you mocking me now? I'm not harming the girl, you arsehole, what's so funny?"
He licked his lips in that way that makes me feel very unholy, "I'm saying it in the sense of harming her, babe. It's in the sense of flirting."
Glaring at him, I made my telekinesis take me a little higher, as he is definitely the tallest bastard in here. "I told you not to calm that, vampire."
"Tsk, you told me not to call you beautiful, babe. You said nothing about this," then, being a petty bloody wanker, he used his telekinesis to get taller than me again, and I did the same.
"Stop!" I yelled annoyed.
"What am I doing?" He played, trying to sound innocent, but not fooling anybody with that mischievous grin of his.
"You are being childish, vampire!" I clenched my jaw.
"How so, babe?" He did it again.
"Are you wanting to fight again?" I summoned one dagger in each of my hands. "Because if not, you better stop."
He tilted his head in amusement, "What? I'm just mimicking you."
"Then don't!" I hissed pointing my daggers at his throat.
"Another death threat? Are you flirting with me, beautiful?"
"Fuck you," how can he be so bloody infuriating?
"I would prefer if you did it," he flashed his fangs sensually again.
Cursing, I gave him my back and flew to where the kitchen witches are, daggers now gone into my tattoos, then I stopped in front of the brown haired witch with peridot eyes from yesterday. "Morning," I said calmer.
"Morning, trouble girl," she grinned, "blood for the Wolpertinger again?" She looked at Jack who was now near my shoulder.
A nod, "Yeah. Headmaster Mia told me to give him three bottles," I clicked my tongue, "can I take it?"
"Of course," then she handed them to me.
"What's your name?" I asked as I took the bottles with my magic.
She seemed surprised, "Bernadetta Bassini." Also Italian.
"Thank you, Miss Bassini," I greeted her and when I turned around the bastard was there again. "Ugh. What do you want now, Strauss-Khan?"
"I love how rude you are to me, you know," he came closer.
"You should say that for someone who gives a shite!" I hissed, and the kitchen witches chuckled behind me, making my skin blush. I turned to Jack, pushing the bottles to him, "Here, your bloody blood."
Fading again, Oliver came behind me, "You should eat."
"I've already had breakfast with Felix," I ignored him.
"What?" He gasped annoyed. "How?"
How what? "I made for us, obviously."
"You already got the key for the kitchen?" Not yet.
I rolled my eyes, "Felix has small kitchen in his lair, I used, why? Jealous? He woke up the second he felt the scent of the food. So, yes, I've eaten already. Twelve pancakes with whipped cream and blueberries for me and twelve identical for him, plus a jar of passion fruit juice. It's pretty delicious."
"Yes!"
"Yes what?" I frowned at him.
"I'm jealous. I don't like you with him."
And? "That's your problem. Felix is my cousin," ish. "Don't be an arsehole to think anything could happen between us. Besides, he's already in love with somebody else, though the person doesn't know because he's scared of deception."
"That's not the point, Hel. I don't like the idea of you sleeping with another male. Cousin or not. Compromised or not. I feel sick," he growled as we left the communal room. "I can't help it. It makes me want to kill the person. Even when you were hitting on Kalisha I felt angry. It's not a thing I can control it in such a initial stage," of the mating bond.
He didn't say it, but he didn't needed to. "You better deal with it, because I'll keep sleeping in Felix's lair for a while. My roommates despise me and I don't feel comfortable sleeping there yet. Besides, it's not like me and Felix sleep cuddling or together, Oliver."
"And still, I feel like killing him for being so close to you."
"Then hold it, because I won't let anyone touch a string of his hair. You've already mistreated him for long enough, I will not tolerate any of that shite anymore," then I glared at him. "From anyone. The kid's been through enough shite here and with that bitch. I'm not letting anyone harm me, not even you. It'll be the same as harming me, and I do not take that lightly."
Avoiding my eyes, he glared at nothing, angry, "I wouldn't touch him even if I desperately want to, Hel. I'm already aware that you are all protective of him. My baby brother told me."
"River?" Of course, he did.
"I don't have another brother, do I?"
