A scare

A while after Raena finished freshening up, Drakun went to her room and at the same time as she was about to open the door, he knocked on it, then she opened it and looked at him.

"Your food," He said, and she smiled before taking it.

"Thank you, you didn't have to bring it, I would have come down," She replied as he entered the room, then she placed the tray of things on the table by the couch and sat down.

"You are welcome and it's fine, this is my job," He said and she glanced at him.

"Doesn't matter if it's your job or not," She replied and he smiled.

"Got it, I'll tell you next time, relax, I've got things to take care of, don't wander off, you are still new here," He said.

"I won't," She replied, then he left and she ate the food that he made her which tasted even better to her.

Hours after Drakun left and it was already night, Raena got bored and left her room and went down to the living room, where she opened the front door and exited the mansion, but the minute she did that, she heard something growling and swallowed as the air around her became heavy.

[Master, that is the presence of a monstrous creature, it's a demon wolf, which is extremely territorial and protective of its master.]

Raena then turned around, her eyes widening as she saw the huge black wolf with beady red eyes glaring down at her, and as it moved closer, the girl's feet slipped and she fell onto her butt to the ground, just as it was about to attack her.

Akaz appeared before her, his eyes glowing purple, and the wolf sat down and shrank, and Akaz sighed before turning to Raena with a smile.

"Are you okay?" Akaz asked as Drakun grabbed her right arm and helped her up before she peeked at the wolf, which growled at her and she smiled nervously.

"This is Midnight, he is the guardian of this mansion, he doesn't attack people who come with permission, but because you were already here and I didn't get a chance to introduce you two, he considered you a threat, this is my fault and I am sorry," Akaz explained before Midnight ran away and Raena smiled.

"It's fine, this is not your fault, I am still new here and he told me not to wander around, but..." She replied as they went back into the mansion and they sat down on the couch in the living room.

"I apologize," Raena said, and Akaz chuckled as he looked at her.

"Raena, it's fine, now tell me, how was your first visit to the academy?" Akaz asked and she smiled.

"It was fine, I learned a few things about how things work around there, I'll go and learn, thanks to you both," She responded, and he sighed relieved.

"That's good to hear, shall we have dinner and talk?" He asked as Darkun looked at them and they turned to face him.

"There's dinner, follow me," He said as he walked away, and they got up and followed him to the dining hall, where he placed the food on the table and served both of them and after he finished, both Akaz and Drakun noticed her looking at the food and they exchanged glanced as she clenched her fists while remembering her previous life and gnashed her teeth.

"What's the matter, Lady Raena? Did I fail to cook good food as a butler?" He asked as she stood up and grabbed his arm as he stared at her.

" of course not, you didn't fail, just sit down and eat with us, I can help myself to take my own food, you sit back and relax as well," She responded, placing him to sit and Akaz burst out laughing as Drakun looked at him.

"I can't sit and eat with you guys," He said and Raena sighed.

"Is this okay?" She asked and Akaz nodded then the poor butler sighed as she sat back down and began eating her food.

Raena began to feel a variety of emotions while eating, and she realized it was because of the life she had led previously that she could hardly trust anyone.

"Uh... What would you prefer me calling you? Sooner or later the students at the academy will ask questions, especially when they are all looking weird already," Raena said and Akaz glanced at her then a smirk appeared on his face.

"I'd like you to call me father in front of them, tell everyone that I'm your father," He said, her eyes widening as she stared at him.

"Are you certain?" She inquired, and he nodded, after which she sighed and drank her juice.

"All right, they'll be doing tests, I think that might start tomorrow, and you said I have abilities, but they're not something I'm familiar with right about now and I don't want to stand out in any way but; can I have a book or something about basic magic?" She asked.

"I am glad you made a decision this soon, we do not have much time to waste, after all, I will give you something that could help you with that, but don't rush it, within due time and practice, you will get the hang of a lot of things, don't worry," He responded and Drakun glanced at him with his eyes narrowing.

'She is still just a young kid, unfamiliar with a lot of things master, what are you thinking?' Drakun sighed as he looked at Akaz before pouring himself a glass of juice and drinking it.

Raena closed her eyes before stretching off after they finished eating, and they looked at her as she stood up.

"Are you tired?" Drakun asked and she nodded.

"All right, Raena, go get some rest, you have a lot to do tomorrow and you will officially be a part of the academy, like I said, you don't have to do things you don't want to, good night," Akaz said.

"I know and good night to both of you," She replied before heading to her room.
