Her lips parted, shocked. Leo really was back to his old self and it was very sweet. It was just that Aleya felt like she'd been given a slap on the wrist, a slap of reality that reminded her out of nowhere that she needed to focus on her goals and she needed to remember that Leo was married.
"Oh, stop, Leo. Your words are only suitable for your wife," Aleya snapped, seemingly coldly. He still looked indifferent as if he didn't care about her.
"I've given her sweet words too many times. But that's just to please her. While you... are different. I feel good when I compliment you and I'm happy if you look happy."
"I'm not happy, Leo. We're different now. Know your place."
Leo's eyes darkened. He really didn't like the way Aleya spoke to him like that, it made him remember who he was but he was reluctant to change things.
