Heaven's Tribulation

When the Heaven Spirits descended, all that bore witness thought of it as a blessing. Only those that survived knew that it was a curse, shackles in place to monitor all beings within Heaven's Code, limits imposed to suppress all beings. Sheng Tian, who's talent transcends even that of the Absolute One, desires to break out of the confines of the Heavenly World and establish his own sanctuary. Will he fall facing the Guardians of the world? Will he stay true to his original intentions? Only time will tell. Operation Revision is underway! I will slowly but surely go back to my earlier chapters and revise them, using the experience I gained to patch up the holes. Any chapter that I have revised will be stated at the bottom in author's thoughts. Current progress: Chapters 1-10

Tier 6 Divergent

Mo Nian charged towards Sheng Tian with great speed. It seems that the Asura Demon Transformation greatly increased his combat capabilities.

Sheng Tian's sword descended to cut Mo Nian's karmic threads. Mo Nian sensed danger and dodged towards the right. Several cuts appeared on his left arm though it was quickly covered by red qi.

"Guess I need to work on the Life Rend technique" he smiled wryly.

"Blood Crescent Slash"

Four red slashes in the shape of a crescent moon bore down on him. Sheng Tian could tell that Mo Nian was getting serious as these slashes were several times stronger than before. He decided to retaliate with one of the techniques he picked up back in the sect.

"Cloud Piercing Slash"

Four light blue slashes flew out to meet Mo Nian's strikes. Loud explosions rang out as each strike canceled each other out. Without waiting for the dust to settle, Sheng Tian used his movement art to dash through the smoke and each Mo Nian with his sword pulled back.

"Azurefire Slash"

The Devouring Sword was enveloped in azure colored flames and clashed with Mo Nian's saber. The result of that clash was Mo Nian getting pushed back several meters and crashing through several trees.

As the dust settled it revealed a bruised and battered Mo Nian laying in a pile of fallen trees. Veins appeared on his forehead as he swallowed a pitch black pill. His aura instantly multiplied several times though wrinkles and tuffs of gray hair appeared on him as well.

"Never would I have imagined that there would be someone greater than me. It seems I would have to get rid of you now. Nether Phantom Steps"

Mo Nian shot forward with greater speed, leaving afterimages in his wake. Crimson flames covered his figure as he raised his saber above his head, "Bloodfiend Demon Slash"

A huge twenty meter long saber condensed above Mo Nian. Its red blade pulsated like a beating heart and radiated might that surprised Sheng Tian. The pill Mo Nian consumed must have provided a great boost, as well as a serious price.

"Phantom Sword Curtain"

A myriad of ethereal swords formed a wall that covered Sheng Tian. Mo Nian snorted and his saber descended.

An earth shattering explosion rang out as the red saber collided with the sword curtain.

"AHAHAHA! Did you think you could survive my strongest strik-" his eyes widened as he looked at the faint silhouette that stood within the dust. The dust settled to reveal a thirty meter wide and 1 meter deep crater with Sheng Tian standing in the middle completely unscathed.

"Are you done?" Sheng Tian asked, "if you are then it should be my turn to make a move"

Mo Nian gritted his teeth and took out a talisman. Sheng Tian immediately recognized it to be a spatial talisman and moved his sword with great speed, "Phantom Draw Sword"

Mo Nian watched horrified as his two arms were cut off without a problem. He wasn't fast enough to activate the talisman and could only watch as Sheng Tian slowly stepped forward.

"I thought you would provide more of a challenge. Guess I was wrong. Mountain Splitting Sword Strike"

His raised sword glowed as the qi in the air gathered around him. A large golden sword formed and its pressure alone threatened to crush Mo Nian.

He paled and quickly tried to buy his life "w-wait! I'm the young master of the Sacred Blood Sect! I can give you anything!"

Sheng Tian looked at him in disdain "do you think I lack anything? Everything you have on you would become mine once you die and it's not like you are the only young master of the Sacred Blood Sect"

Not wasting any more time, Sheng Tian brought down his sword.

Mo Nian's eyes reddened "once you kill me the sect will know! They will not stop to hunt you down!"

Not caring about Mo Nian's efforts to deter him, Sheng Tian's sword landed and a deafening explosion resounded from the impact. Before the dust settled, Wu Di left Sheng Tian's sea of consciousness and grabbed a translucent wisp out of the air and crushed it.

"I destroyed his link to his life tablet" Wu Di said "it would be a while before the Sacred Blood Sect discovers that he is dead"

The dust settled to reveal a deep groove that went on for a mile. Everything in its path was destroyed and not a trace was left by Mo Nian except for his hands which carried all his possessions. One of the hands still clutched the spatial talisman which he failed to activate. Sheng Tian took them all and decided to organize later. A top tier genius that would have risen to great heights was killed just like that.

"So" Sheng Tian began "what tier divergent and I?"

Wu Di took a moment to assess the damage caused by Sheng Tian's strike as well as the prowess he showed during his fight "the prowess you showed is beyond what is ever recorded. You should be able to fight ordinary cultivators that are six realms above yours. I would call you a tier six divergent"

"Tier six huh. Isn't that stronger than you?"

"Brat are you looking for a beating?"

Sheng Tian smirked "it's not like you can do anything since you are a spirit"

Wu Di paused for a moment and looked in a certain direction. He smirked back "I don't have to do anything, however. . ."

Activating his All Seeing Eyes, Sheng Tian looked in the direction Wu Di was looking and saw two bright lights coming his way. The energy fluctuations seemed quite familiar. . .

His enhanced eyesight allowed him to see two figures. One in blue and one in red.
