21. JUSTIN FOUND HER A NEW JOB

The following day, She woke up to the ringing of her phone.

"Hello. Good morning." She said sleepily, stretching on the bed as she picked the call with sleep still in her eyes.

"Hey babe," Ria shouted, making her drop the phone in shock.

Carrying her phone, "Ria seriously." She glared at her phone as if she could see her.

Ria hissed, "I knew you were still sleeping so I have to shout to clear the sleep from your eyes."

"Wicked girl."

"Durh... That's not why I called."

"Okay?"

"There is this new recipe I saw and tried so I was thinking you would like to try it"

"Recipe? Wow, yea."

"I know you would want to."

"You love me like that babe." She laughed.

"Hmmm... Wanna come over?"

"Am still on the bed, girl."

Ria yelled at the top of her voice, "Get up this minute."

Knowing that was going to happen, Yvonne had already removed the phone from her ear. "Okay, Ma'am."

"What of Samz?" She asked in a calm voice so Ria won't suspect anything.

"He went to see Mom." She replied.

"Okay. Later." The call ended.

She knew she won't have the courage to face Samz after what happened the previous day even when he said he never meant it.

She brushed and went downstairs, while walking beside Cammy's room, she opened her door to check her but saw no one. She closed her door and went downstairs

Knowing her sister, she's already jumping and playing energetically downstairs.

Getting down the stairs, she met her Cammy watching cartoons, Her Mom sitting lazily on the couch beside Cammy, and Her stepdad typing on his laptop and checking his phone from time to time.

Her mom heard her footsteps first and glances at her.

"Good morning." She greeted.

"Morning baby." Her Mom responded

Her stepdad nods, "How was your night?" Without looking away from his laptop.

"Good dad." He looked at her and gave her a big smile, she knew it was because she called him, "DAD."

She went over to Cammy, pecked her forehead before going to the kitchen.

She prepared breakfast, packed them to the dining table and they came to eat.

"Mom I would be going to Ria's house later in the day."

"Okay baby." Mary swallowed her food before answering her.

She and Cammy cleared, washed the plates, and also mopped the kitchen. She joined her Mom and stepdad in the sitting room to watch TV for some hours before she went back to her room, bath, and dressed up for her outing.

She babe them bye and left. She took a cab and got there early.

Entering the gate, her eyes went straight to the driveway, checking for Samz's car, and sighed in relief when it wasn't there.

She knocked on the door, "Hello."

Ria opened the door from inside, knowing who the person at the door was, "Hey babe." They hugged.

Yvonne entered, dropped her bag on a sofa, "What is Samz doing at your mom's place?"

"Obviously to avoid you." Ria rolled her eyes.

Yvonne blushed, "W... What... B... Bu...t..." Stammering.

"He told me what happened but he didn't tell you what he wants to say."

"What did he want to say?"

"I can't say it. It's his story to tell not mine."

Yvonne nods, "Okay."

"Have you eaten?" Ria asked.

"Only morning, not afternoon yet." Nodding her at the kitchen, "What did you prepare?"

"Prepare?" She scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"Yes?" Glaring at her.

Ria laughed, "You have hands that are perfectly working fine so why would I prepare food for you?"

Yvonne groans and eyed Ria, "Ah why did you now call me over."

"You haven't told me about your secret boyfriend yet."

"He's not my boyfriend. I have said it before."

"He would soon be." Making Yvonne blush hard. "You are already blushing."

Yvonne shook her head at what her friend said.

"Let's prepare something to eat first then we talk." Ria stood up going to the kitchen.

"You are really wicked." Yvonne went after her.

They prepared a simple meal and made fruit juice to take with it.

"She was disgraced on that day." Ria took the food to the dining while telling her what happened to her boss.

"It would be embarrassing for her."

"It was the first day I saw her with tears in her eyes." Ria laughed. They settled down to eat.

They wash up after eating and bring their fruit juice along to the sitting room to sip while they talk.

"Now back to our discussion. Your secret boyfriend."

"His name is Justin." Sipping from her drink.

"Wow... Okay."

She explained how they met, leaving out what happened on the first day, how she refused to give him her number.

Ria laughs, "How then did he get your number? You guys met again?"

"By coincidence, he came to the restaurant I am working at, for lunch."

"Did you think he was stalking you?"

She shrugged, "I was surprised to see him but that never came to my mind."

"So how did your credentials get to him?" Ria raised her eyebrows in question.

"I gave him. He asked for it the same day you called me, he followed my mom and me home for dinner."

"What do you think he is using it for?"

"I don't know though."

"Has he asked you yet?"

"Asked what?" She looked confused.

"On a date." She folded her arms.

"Oh." Her cheeks turned a deep pink. "Yes, he did."

Ria jumped and squealed loudly, Yvonne blocked her ears with her hands, "Don't burst my eardrum."

"Am happy for you finally. Wow." Ria gave her a high five her.

"Thanks. I don't know what to wear for the date."

"And you couldn't tell me?" She gave her a light but firm knock on her head

Yvonne shouted and eyed her, "My head." She groans in fake pain.

Ria didn't reply, she rushed upstairs leaving Yvonne looking confused. Not too long, she came back dressed in a short pink gown and white heels.

"Where are you going to?"

"We are going shopping." She kept her phone in her bag and looked at Yvonne with "Get up right now girl" eyes.

Knowing she won't win the argument, Yvonne took her bag and walked out with Ria at her back.

They went from shops to shops, from malls to malls in search of clothes till Yvonne settled on a long-sleeved knee-length blue gown with a low black wedge.

She got a message from Justin saying, he was waiting for her in her house.

Yvonne and Ria ended their shopping and took a cab directly from the mall straight to Yvonne's house.

She entered and met Justin and Cammy playing while her mom was watching her favorite program on the TV.

"Hey, mom." She pecked Mary

"Welcome baby."

"Where's Dad?" Noticing he wasn't in the kitchen.

"In his room."

"Okay." She went over to Cammy and Justin.

"Baby." She pecked her forehead while she hugged Justin, "Hey Justin."

He wanted to peck her cheek but met her lips instead, Yvonne's eyes went wide, and gasped.

"Am sorry." She stood up and looked at Cammy, who was distracted by Justin's phone, she sighed in relief.

She avoided his eyes but glanced at him, due to his silence, to see him smiling, "Am not sorry." He winked at her.

"I came here to inform you about something," He looked around, "Privacy?"

"Oh... Let's go to my room." She looked up to see him smirking, "Only talking, nothing else."

"I did not say, anything princess." She blushed deep red.

He followed her up to her room to talk. "I went through your credentials and found a job for you."

"What?"

"A job that you would love and you're starting tomorrow."

She jumped on him and hugged him tightly, she realized what she was doing when he chuckled.

"Sorry." She released from the hug but he didn't take his hands off her waist.

Talking shyly and looking at his eyes, "Your hands."

"What's wrong with them?"

"Huh... Like..." Looking at his chest like it was the most interesting thing in the world.

He left her waist and laughed so hard that he had to bend to laugh more, making her blush hard.

She hit his arm and his chest in annoyance, he held her hand to stop her and hugged her.

"Thanks a lot, Justin." Resting her head on his chest, smiling.

"You are always welcome, Princess."

He stayed till later in the night before she left. She shared the news with her family which they celebrated and thanked Justin for.
