"I Do Not Have Any Food."

[Tuesday: October 4, 2022; 6:30 am]

My class only starts exactly at 8:00 in the morning. Despite having a dorm inside the university, I choose to wander outside.

Since yesterday, I have been brainstorming on how to capture that man. I am very smart (not) and naturally know where to begin. That is knowing the person itself. Then, I thought how will I be able to achieve that: that is naturally through watching.

Knowing how he reacted yesterday, I figured he did not like someone hitting on him. My genius self thought of something: to advance slowly, carefully, and especially coincidentally.

That is the reason why I am here, in front of the place. This early in the morning, it is already open, which is much in favor for me and without wasting any more time, I entered.

"Good morning, Gran! I'm here to eat breakfast." I announced energetically with a clear voice, maybe possibly reaching his ear.

"Oh, it's you and your...only you?" The owner of this place is an old man, in his late sixties. Everyone who knows him by the name: Gran. It was often used that no one will know his name anymore if nobody asks.

"They have their breakfast. I, on the other hand, do not have any food. Troubling Gran for feeding this pitiable self." What friends? They all did not want to join except Louise but she was still dragged away. It was a pity, but naturally good enough for me. The less the people are, the more romantic it is.

"What pitiable self?" He scoff softly and stood in front of the display to scoop up my usual order.

Inadvertently, my gaze travels toward the door to the back. There stood the man the reason I was here for. It seems his face slightly wrinkled when I saw him, but it disappear as soon as it appeared. He did not even glance at me and turn around and go back to where he came from.

I sigh, comforting my heart: It's fine. This is only the beginning. Be patient, Les.

Gran: Pitiable self huh? Who are you trying to fool.

Les: My husband.
