Head In The Stars

"I'm actually an alien," says the little girl. I have no idea how to take this, Lachlan thinks. His training as a security guard didn't cover it, nor did it cover how to deal with running into a hot guy from a past he's trying to hide from, or avoid alien conspiracies when they come knocking. Wait, what? That last one must be wrong, aliens aren't real. ...Right?

Ch. 31 - Reading Homework

When Aron had first told me how to tackle the problem, I'd thought just looking for names and dates and keywords wouldn't be enough to figure out anything since who's that methodical in their diary, but it turned out I was wrong. Not only did I discover that this was a good way to collect information that didn't lead to me getting sucked into reading, it also showed me that the writer of this diary was incredibly methodical.

I wrote down the last name I'd found into my columns then stretched. I rolled my shoulder then discovered that my lunch had gone cold and my coffee even colder. I picked up a bit of my food with my fingers and popped it into my mouth. I munched a bit and decided that, yes, it was worth saving, so I got up and brought both food and drink to the kitchen for some microwaving.

After eating, I went over all the pages again to double check I hadn't missed anything, then sent the data off to Aron.
