"How does it feel?" I asked the lioness. "The bittersweet taste of revenge?" She did not answer, so I continued. "Just like with me, all that's left is an emptiness." I sighed. "Now that it's done, what will you do? Now that you've got what you dreamed of, where will you go? And what will you do now?"
"I don't know..." She spoke lifelessly. "This was all that I could think about..."
"It's alright," I said to her, "We've got time before we are forced out." I slowly embraced her, "Like you were there for me, I'm here for you."
"...home..." The lioness whimpered softly. "I... I want to go home." She sobbed.
.
Slowly, she started to cry. Her heart aching for a parent's touch. Sadly, we both knew the truth.
.
"We can't." The harsh and honest truth, that's what I said. "You no longer have a place to call home, and mine was taken from me long ago."
"Then hold me," she whispered, "and please don't let go."
"I'm here," I told her, "I'm here for you, Moe."
.
As the world started to swirl, we were forcibly pushed out of Moe's home world. I never let go as per her request and held on tight as we were sent spiraling through the cosmos.
.
As we were forced out, the world around us changed. The war-torn wastelands we were in swirled and transformed into a land of blocks and cubes. We were back in the world of Mincraftia.
I opened my grimoire and prepared a teleportation matrix for the two of us. This wasn't our first time in this world, so we had a house set up for us to use. And with a snap of my fingers, we were back at the house.
This was the world we were cursed to live in. For the rest of our immortal lives. While we could visit other worlds from time to time, we can never leave this one. That is our curse.
.
"Moe," I called softly, "We're back."
.
I received no answer, but I knew she cried herself to sleep. Sighing, I gently picked her up and walked to our house. A blocky cottage with a warehouse not too far away. Once I was at the door, my grimoire hovered out and registered the wards protecting the cottage, allowing the door to swing open. Revealing the interior.
I smiled as there wasn't a spec of dust on anything inside. I was glad to see my enchantments were still functioning even after all the time we were gone. I walked over to our shared bed and gently set Moe down. Her grip on me was stronger than usual, so I levitated a chair over and sat down. Patently waiting for her to wake.
Three hours, I patently waited three hours for Moe to wake. During these hours, I spent my time going over my grimoire. Creating spells, restructuring existing ones, and removing ones that were no longer usable.
As soon as I felt Moe stir, I stopped what I was doing. Her emerald eyes flew open as they darted around, quickly examining the surroundings. Her tense body relaxed after seeing the familiar interior and me.
.
"You're awake," I said with a gentle smile. "I brought us back to the cottage."
"Thanks," Moe spoke with a lack of motivation, her hair shadowing her face.
"You hungry?" I asked with a soft tone, seeing how she was. "I can always whip up a feast just for you, you know I will."
"No, thanks." Her voice, once filled with motivation, was empty. "I'm not that hungry."
.
I wasn't worried. I knew she would bounce back. Just like I did.
.
"It's okay," I told her, knowing exactly what she needed. "I'm here for you, for whatever you need."
"Home..." She whispered to me. "Give me a home, please."
"We are home," I told Moe. "In the house, we built together."
"Are you sure?" She asked in a hushed voice as she leaned in close to me.
"I'm sure," I assured her. "To be honest, I fell in love with you ages ago"
.
Moe leaned in closer as did I. It was a sweet, chaste kiss at first. Then it evolved into something more. Something pure.
.
...
.
I awoke to a wonderful feeling around my crotch and arms around my naked chest. Looking down, I was greeted with a messy mane of blonde hair and emerald eyes. I smiled lightly and leaned forward. I was expecting a kiss but I got a headbutt instead.
.
"Ow," I muttered as I felt Moe get up off the bed. "I take it you didn't like it?"
"No, I loved every minute of it," Moe told me as I watched her get dressed with magic, summoning her clothes to her. "I'm just not used to being treated as a woman."
"I know," I said sitting up. "You're used to being treated as a knight."
"But I'm a knight no more." She solemnly said.
"You are one," I told her as I also summoned my clothes. "You're my knight. My queenly knight."
.
She giggled at that. As she turned towards me, I could see her smiling. A kind and gentle smile. She strode over to me and kissed me deeply. After a long while, we broke the kiss.
.
"I'm hungry!" Moe excitedly told me with a cheeky smile.
"That's the Moe I know. "I spoke as I got dressed.
.
...
.
"So, what now?" She asked as she had just finished stuffing herself with several steaks and potatoes.
"How about adventuring the multiverse?" I asked as I finished eating. "We always come back to this world after a set amount of time anyway. We make our home our base and explore the myriad of worlds."
"Sounds like a plan to me." Moe agreed with the idea. "But what will we call this place?"
"The name of this world is called 'Minecraftia', so the Minecraft Cottage?" I guessed and felt the mana within the air vibrate and hum.
"Minecraft Cottage?" Moe scrunched her nose, cute. "Well, it's better than my idea of Evergate Castle."
"The world already accepted the name," I sighed and then began to explain it to Moe who was lost. "When the world accepts a name of a place, the world itself puts protection on the said place."
"What type of protection?" She asked curiously.
"It varies from place to place," I explained. "From what I can tell from the mana in the air, the wards protecting this place are now permanent."
"Permanent protection wards?" Moe spoke after some thought. "At least we don't have to worry about them wearing off now."
"True," I said, but then a thought came to my mind. "But we have an issue. We still don't know much about this world. All we know are the basics of magic and metallurgy."
"What do you suggest?" Moe asked. "We start from the beginning?"
"That would be the best and safest bet," I said as I stood up, snapping my finger to take away the dirty dishes. "I say we take some years since all we've got is time, and study the world and uncover its secrets."
"I understand where you're coming from." Moe sighed as she too stood up, waving her hand at the dishes and making them clean. "But we need a starting point. Without one, we're just headless chickens running around."
"That, my dear Mordred, is something you'll enjoy," I told her while smiling. "We start by exploring, conquering, subjugation, and experimentation."
"So, back to the basics?" She asked as she eyed me.
"Yep."
"Fun."
.
...
.
We took five years to study this world to its end. From there, we discovered countless things about the world. First, there were several types of magic we took our time to understand. Second, there were Dungeons and Dragons scattered throughout the world. Third, there is intelligent life in the world. Fourth, there are artifacts that have random origins. And five, there were other realms to this word
During those five years, we didn't just go exploring. We dug and expanded the warehouse we had built before to include a mine and a workshop. From there, Moe and I have learned all that we could about this world. From the simplest magics to the toughest of alloys. As for the realms that are attached to this world, we've come to the conclusion that this world is made up of three main realms. The Overworld, where we reside. The Nether, which is basically hell. And the Enderlands (The End). These three realms were what kept this world turning.
While these three realms were keeping the world stable, Moe and I did our best to understand it all. We each kept several notebooks of the things we've discovered. For me, they were mainly about the magic of this world with an odd entry here and there. For Mordred, it was about where, when, and how to find treasure and fight dragons. Though there were a few cookbooks written by her as well. I found them cute.
.
"So, when shall we go?" Mordred asked one night.
"Soon," I replied as we both ate dinner which was dragon steak. "I'll have to check tonight to see if there is enough starlight mana to open the portal."
"I see, so where do you think this portal will take us?" She asked a bit eager, "An another magic world? Or a world where magic is only a fable?"
"I don't know," I admitted, "I'm excited to find out myself. I'm hoping for a fairly advanced world. I'm curious as to what magic and science can do for one another."
"You're just like always." Moe sighed but a smile touched her lips. "If I recall correctly, tonight's a new moon. So the ritual should be powered by midnight."
"You would be correct." I smiled at her as I cleaned my plate. "But I still have to make sure there is enough power for the both of us. I rather not get separated from you mid-travel."
"Aww, is someone going to miss me if I'm not by his side?" Moe teased.
"Of course, I would miss my lovely queen," I told her truthfully. "Just as I know you'll miss me if I'm not by your side."
"You're no fun." Mordred sighed as she finished off her fourth plate.
"Our bedroom activities say otherwise." I ribbed her, causing her to blush madly.
"Shut up," She mumbled.
