CHAPTER 10: Vortex Identity

Vortex looked at me ominously as he pulled out a sharp knife on his leather bag.

"Do you know what happens to those who disobey me!?" He uttered ominously.

My heart was racing, I was scared the moment he let the knife's tip touch my skin and I bled a little.

"Ple....please I'll do whatever you want just don't hurt me" I mumbled in fear.

"hah! hurt you? I'm not gonna hurt you! I'm gonna kill you! if you try to escape!" He uttered in an ominous tone.

My eyes got teary, I was shaking, my mind was messed up. I don't know what to do at that time. It feels like my time has finally come. Before I die, I must've said goodbye to those people I love, especially Mat. I wish he was beside me so I am to tell how much I love him.

"ha-ha-ha" he laughed sarcastically

"That's what I want to see, you're mumbling in fear" He uttered.

He let the knife's blade slid gently as it left a cut on my skin while I screamed in pain.

" ahhhhhh!!!! ple...please..." I screamed as tears fell from my eyes.

He enjoys what he's doing while he torture me so much. He's about to cut me again with his knife suddenly I heard a gunshot then I saw the knife fall off to the ground.

"You bastard!" Mat exclaimed furiously

Mat pointed the gun at the guy who was torturing me.

"Let go of Mike! Or I'll shoot you on the head Vortex!" Mat exclaimed furiously then he grit he's teeth with anger.

Vortex raised his hands and put it behind his back as a sign of surrender. But then this guy knows how to play. He slowly pulled out a knife attached on his leather jacket on his back and quickly threw the knife to Mat.

" Mat! looked out!" I exclaimed.

Mat got distracted, then Vortex quickly tackled him and they fell to the ground. But Mat quickly kicked him in the stomach, which caused him to be pushed back.

Vortex grabbed one of the knives on the floor and started slashing it to Mat.

"Mat! be careful!" I exclaimed.

Mat resisted his attacks, he grabbed Vortex's hand and squeezed it with all his strength until he dropped the knife on the floor. Mat started elbowing Vortex face which caused him to stumble on the ground.

"ha-ha-ha is that all you got!" Vortex laughed sarcastically as he spit a drip of blood on the floor.

Mat rushed in to pick up the gun. But Vortex picked up the knife quickly as he pointed it on my neck just enough to cut my skin a bit.

" Ahhhhhh!!! I exclaimed in pain"

"ha-ha just try to shoot or else He'll be dead!? Vortex threatened Mat.

" O...okay ple....please just don't hurt Mike, I'll do whatever you want, please I beg you!" Mat uttered with worries in his eyes.

" Now drop your gun! toss it over!" Vortex furiously uttered.

"Mat don't do it!"

"Shut! up!" Vortex exclaimed furiously

Mat tossed over the gun to Vortex.

"Now kneel!" Vortex demanded.

Mat had no choice but to follow Vortex orders.

"They will be here soon" Vortex uttered while he smirked at Mat ominously.

Vortex threw the knife then, he picked up the gun and pointed it at me. He slowly removed his mask. My heart was racing as he revealed his true identity.As the mask fell off, Mat and I were totally shocked and furious after he revealed his true face.

"Vinz! You are the son of a bi*ch!, I'm gonna kill you!" Mat exclaimed furiously.

" Oh no, how about I'm gonna kill you instead! ha-ha" Vortex laughed sarcastically as he pointed the gun at Mat.

"Vinz! please don't do this, I beg you" I mumbled.

" ha-ha, don't worry I'm not gonna hurt him, I just wanted him to feel how to have a third wheel in your relationship." He uttered while he smirked ominously as he pulled my hair then licked me on my sweaty cheek.

"You psycho bastard! Let us go!" Mat shouted angrily.

We can't do anything because when Mat tries to get closer Vinz wont hesitate to pull the trigger.

"You crazy psycho! I'm gonna kill you!" I exclaimed

" hhh! Kill me ?" he uttered that he looked at me, pulled in my chin with force and whispered;

"How about I'll kill your boyfriend first" He uttered then this crazy psycho laughed sarcastically.

As he's about to pull the trigger to Mat, we heard a gunshot. Vinz dropped the gun because he was shot on his right arm.

"Arghhhhhh!!!" He exclaimed while feeling the pain of the gunshot.

Then a few seconds later, three gunshots followed. One in his head, in his chest and stomach. He was pushed back as he fell off to the ground.

Mat untied me immediately while the guy who shot Vinz came rushing in to help us up.

" Are you guys okay!?" He asked

"Charlie!?" Mat was surprised

" Well! you're one and only uncle Charlie!" He uttered with confidence.

"We gotta get out of here Bradley and his gang will be here soon" I uttered without any hesitation.

"Mike can you stand?" Mat uttered with worries in his eyes.

He wrapped my right arm around his shoulder and helped me to get up. I was weak at that moment because I lost a lot of blood. As we were about to get out, we heard some noises of some approaching vehicles outside.

" They're here!" Mat exclaimed

"Go use the backdoor, my car is waiting outside" Charlie uttered.

"Wait what about you!?" I asked with worries in my eyes.

"hhhh! ha-ha-ha I'm gonna finish these bastards!" He replied, then he smirked at us.

"Charlie! you're an insane uncle! come on let's go!" I exclaimed.

"Mat take Mike Already! and get out of here!" He shouted.

"What about you!?" Mat asked?

"I'll be fine! here take this!" Charlie exclaimed while tossing the car key over to Mat.

"You're a crazy old man!" Mat uttered.

We rushed into Charlie's car while he was left inside the warehouse. Mat started the car's engine while we heard some gunshots inside.

[Inside The Warehouse]

Charlie pulled out two guns on his pocket pistols. and started shooting Bradley's gang as they entered the warehouse entrance. But there's too many of them. Some of them were holding AK-47 and riffles.

Bradley's gang started raining the place with bullets. Charlie still fought as hard as he could while he docked at the metal tables that served him as a cover.

"Mat! I don't like this! We're leaving your uncle after he saved our lives" I uttered.

Mat drove the car at its full speed.

" Mat! what are you doing!?" I exclaimed

He looked at me and smiled with confidence

" We're gonna save my crazy uncle." He uttered

He let the car pass through the warehouse wooden wall.

Bradley's gang was distracted and some got hit by the car's impact. We saw Charlie hiding at the back of the metal tables not far from the car.

" Get In! Crazy Old Man!" Mat shouted teasingly.

Charlie quickly rushed in to get inside the car. Then Mat drove the car at its full speed out from the warehouse.

" After them!" I heard one of the gang leaders shouted.

Charlie smirked as he pulled out something in his pocket.

" What's that?" I asked out of curiosity

" It's a press button of the detonate dynamite bomb I planted at the lamppost that we passed through earlier, now it's time to press it!" He uttered with confidence.

The gang that was after us was riding in a black limo, and four motorcycles were about to pass through to the lamppost where Charlie left the bomb. But then he pressed the button and it exploded, which caused them to lose their balance on the motorcycles. The black limo sprang up into the air and rolled back into the ground.

"Yeah!!! serves you right bastards!" Charlie exclaimed sarcastically.

"So, you planned it all out huh!?" Mat asked

"Of course, sadly I was not able to meet Bradley today, he's not with them it's just his gang" Charlie uttered.

"What!? So you're after Bradley!?" Mat asked

"Yes! did you forget Mat, That bullshit! killed my son!" He exclaimed furiously.

" Chill old man, you'll meet him soon" Mat uttered teasingly.

I was sitting right next to Mat while Charlie was in the backseat. I was shocked by the revelation I have witnessed today, Charlie's son was killed by Bradley. I felt bad for him but there's nothing I do about it.

" Charlie, I'm so beyond grateful that you came to save us. " I uttered while tears fell from my eyes.

" Oh! Don't bother thanking me dear, your dad also saved my life once. I'm just returning him the favor." He replied.

" Wait, he saved you? How? I don't understand?" I asked.

"Didn't your dad tell you about how we managed to escape from a terrorist group before?" He uttered in a serious tone.

"No, please tell me" I replied with curiosity about what happened to them.

"Okay, I'll tell you. Your dad saved me and Mr. Ashir. Three of us were captured by a high profile terrorist group. We're on our way to escape this terrorist but suddenly we're cornered. But your dad sacrificed himself so that Ashir and I can escape. Sadly, he was left behind and he was captured by those groups. Until then, we didn't hear anything about him." He uttered.

"I knew about it" I sadly uttered

"But then years later, He called both of us and told us that he was able to escape at the hands of those terrorist groups. Then he told us that it was all part of Bradley's vicious plan." Charlie saddened.

" He mentioned to me that he was set up by Bradley, but I didn't know both of you were involved." I replied

"I bet you know a little about this." Charlie replied back.

"Damn! why there's so many secrets!" I exclaimed.

" Chill babe, just ask your dad about this when we get home." Mat uttered.

" It all started with that red diamond" Charlie uttered.

" You mean the bloody freakin' diamond!?" I asked

" Yes, It's our last mission in South Africa, to steal the blood diamond from those terrorist groups. But we didn't know that Bradley already planned a scheme about it." Charlie explained.

"So this was all Bradley's fault!" I asked curiously

"Yes! That bastard! He just wanted to own the blood diamond. That bullshit was so obsessed about it!" Charlie replied furiously.

"But I don't understand, why did my dad have the blood diamond?" Mat asked out of curiosity.

" After we escaped, Mr. Ashir already knew that something was wrong on our last mission. So he created a fake blood diamond and gave it to Bradley. That's why, Bradley can't accept the fact that he was outsmarted." Charlie explained.

"So, that's why he's doing all this right now!?" I Asked furiously.

" Yes, But we won't let him. I will not forgive him after the day he took my son's life!" Charlie uttered as tears fell from his eyes.

I was about to approach Charlie but I think it's too much for me to ask about what happened to his son. So I composed myself and changed the topic to brighten the mood.

" Hey! how about you Mat! do you have any secrets to confess!" I exclaimed but I was trying to tease him.

"Babe , what!? ,no!, I don't have any secrets." He replied. He's looking so cute while he's being teased.

" Ha-ha-ha I know a lot about Mat!" Charlie uttered then continued laughing out loud.

"Hey stop there! crazy old guy! you know nothing about me!." Mat exclaimed

" Ha-ha-ha are you sure my dear nephew?, ha-ha-ha" Charlie replied teasingly.

" Ha-ha-ha okay you two stop already!" I replied and continued laughing too.

"Love , I have something to tell you but not now, it's not the right time for that." He uttered.

"Babe it's okay, if you're not ready to tell then I'll understand." I replied calmly and smiled sweetly at him.

" Mehhhh stop that romantic moment already and focus on your driving." Charlie uttered teasingly

[Back At The Warehouse]

Bradley came late with his other bodyguards. He entered the warehouse as he saw his gang lifeless bodies.

"Fck! useless bastards!" He exclaimed furiously.

He walked past the lifeless bodies and he noticed the guy lying down, who was dead, with a black mask near him. He knew it was Vortex. But he was totally shocked as he got closer to seeing his face closely. He was so nervous and his hands were shaking as he touched Vinz's face.

"V....Vinz!" He uttered nervously

"Vinz!!!!!, Son! Who did this to you!?"

He exclaimed as tears fell from his eyes while he mourned about his son's death.

" Sorry to disturb you boss." One of the bodyguards uttered

"Get out!!!!" He shouted furiously as he held his son's body and laid him in his lap.

The bodyguard got intimidated then he went out quickly.

" I cant!!!, Why did you do this son!? Why!??" He mourns

Bradley was in despair as he carried his son's lifeless body.

" Burry him nicely" He uttered while weeping.

" Copy that boss" One of the guards replied

"Show me the video!?" Bradley uttered as he grits his teeth with anger.

He witnessed that Charlie was the one who shot his son four times.

" You bastard! Now we're even" Bradley uttered with an ominous tone.

"I'm going to kill you all! No one will stop me from getting that bloody diamond." He exclaimed bursting out of anger.
