An Encounter

Sitting on my bed in my pajamas I sent Jenelle text to let her know I won't be in school today.

I've had a horrible cough all night long, and the vomiting refuses to cease. So I just accepted my fate. If this continues I won't get to go to our class field trip on Monday.

And since everyone else in my class is going to attend, I'd have no-one to cure my boredom, well no one besides Hannah and what other spirits decide to bother me.

While scrolling through playstore looking for a game that would keep me entertained, I hear my door open without turning to see I immediately know who it is,my brother Issack . "Get out."

"Oh chillax, I just came to tell you I ordered Chinese for me, you and Abbie.", "So?" I ask. "So I want you to pick it up, I paid. I groan. "Whatever, just leave already."

Gosh he's so annoying, always has been since the day I met him and our older brother Mason 9 years ago. Four years before my mom and their dad got married.

After I got ready to leave the house to pick up the order, dredging speaking with my voice sounding so hoarse, I heard soft footsteps running down the stairs and I smiled.

"Good morning Abbie." I say to the 7 year old girl. "Morning Lizzie." Abby says in a soft voice. "Was there something you wanted?" Abbie's smile widens as she shakes her head yes.

"I wanted chocolate, Issack doesn't wanna get it for me." She asked, "Of course I'll be sure to get you some while I'm out." Abbie nods and runs back up the stairs.

A little while after I'm waiting in the restaurant for the people in front of me to either decide what they want to get or pick up their orders.

When I finally get what I came for I exit the restaurant and begin making my way to the nearest grocery store. While waiting to cross the street I glance at a huge spirit staring straight at me.

Nope! Guess I'll just go to another store then. Walking away, the thing is still looking at me and now it's following me.

"Oh crap." I whisper. I begin speed walking away from that thing deciding to scrap going to the grocery all together and just go home. Right before I begin sprinting I bump into someone.

"Oh sorry." I hear a familiar female voice say. Looking up to also apologize I see the girl from before…Arianna.

But now she's not looking at me she's looking in the direction of the spirit that's following me.

"You've never done an exorcism before, right." She says with a smile that doesn't quite seem right.

"Guess not." , "Maybe I should teach you early. She then looks at me. "Try looking at it more closely."

"W-what do you mean more closely?" She smiles at me again and points to her eye. "Try looking at its aura and tell me what colour you see."

I slowly look back at the spirit to do what she tells me and begin squinting my eyes until a red outline shows up seeping from the spirit.

"It- It's red.", "The colour I see is red." Arianna smiles. "Correct when a spirit's aura is red it means they've done many bad things and we have to forcefully evict them from the human world."

Arianna then begins making her way towards the spirit and pulls a rosary from the inside of her shirt and joins her hands.The spirit begins to twitch and squirm until it bursts and disappears entirely.

She then opens her eyes and makes her way towards me smiling. "Well lead the way." She says. "To where?" I ask still trembling.

"To your house, of course silly." She laughs out.

I think I'm scared of her now…

I ring the doorbell to my house with Arianna still behind me. Issack opens the door and let's us in, not before he looks at me with furrowed brows.

"Who's she?" He asked. "A friend from school." I reply. "I've never seen her before. Gosh damn it I forgot we go to the same school now.

"A primary school friend." I place the food on the table as well as the chocolate I managed to get for Abbie and begin making my way to my room with Arianna behind me.

Once in the safety and privacy of my room I lock the door and turn towards her. "So what was the reason for coming all the way to my house?"

"There wasn't really a reason other than making sure you get home without any other encounters like that, evil spirits can be found anywhere after all.

"Oh I almost forgot, here." She says handing me the rosary from earlier.

I look at her with a questioning look. "It's to keep you safe." She says. "You never know when you might need it.", " Oh and also within the next few days your mother is going to get a call from the school about letting you attend their summer classes."

"Of course it's just an excuse to let you join us so we can teach you how to use your gifts and other things."

"Well bye for now Jenesis." Aranna says as she exits my room and eventually leaves the house.

Oh my god they have my mother's number.

OH MY GOD THEY KNOW WHERE I LIVE NOW.
