Read how he fights off Voldemort in process becoming the leader of new generation of wizards and builds up his new life with his new friends, family and wife. A story of a wizard using his wisdom and power to ascend to the pinnacle of the world, who will do anything to protect his new family. This is a little slow paced and also somewhat slice of life story so keep that in mind, that focuses more on Alaric's relationship. There will be heavy changes to the original plot so be aware and also MC becomes overpowered rather quickly as the story moves forward and he won't hesitate to take some drastic measures if necessary, so he won't have a moral compass. Chapter 207: Professors

In the subsequent Quidditch training sessions, Alaric didn't always stick with Cho Chang.

Though his own tactics were definitely more sophisticated than the Irish team's, he didn't want to meddle with their strategies anymore.

Firstly, the Irish team had the capability to win the championship on their own.

In the original story, they once led the Bulgarian team by a score of 170:160.

Even when Viktor Krum found the Golden Snitch first, he couldn't turn the tide.

With Cho Chang joining the Irish team, their weakness in seeking Seekers had been filled, even turned into an advantage.

Viktor Krum dreaming of catching the Golden Snitch first again would just be a fantasy.

Secondly, Alaric himself found it troublesome. He had many other things to do during this time.

For example, training Hermione in spells.

After gaining the ability to transform into a dragon, Hermione found her spellcasting speed and the power of her spells greatly enhanced.

Additionally, her physical condition improved a lot, making it easier for her to maneuver and dodge spells during duels.

So, she urgently needed Alaric to practice with her, to familiarize herself with her own strength.

Soon, she mastered her increasingly powerful abilities, and Alaric also taught her some high-powered spells.

These were spells he could release in the past, but due to being too forced, he couldn't use them effectively in duels.

But now, things were different.

Hermione, who used to carefully plan her magical reserves in battles, could now become a magical powerhouse, crushing opponents with high-powered spells alone.

However, Hermione's fighting style was not like this.

She excelled in intelligence and had a very broad knowledge.

She preferred to counter opponents' spells with simple spells, using her quick spellcasting to attack in the intervals between counters.

After such a series of attacks, she would finish with a high-powered spell.

Time flew by quickly, and soon, the wizarding world welcomed the International Wizard Duelling Competition.

This year, the competition was held in Paris. Wizards from all over Europe rushed to Paris using Portkeys or Apparition, participating in this event.

Unfortunately, this year's dueling competition clashed with the Quidditch World Cup. After the dueling competition ended, many of them would rush to London again.

On the morning of the competition day, Hermione saw Alaric waiting for her eagerly at her doorstep.

This time, Alaric would personally escort Hermione to the arena.

Furthermore, the professors of Hogwarts would also attend the competition.

In wizarding culture, dueling was indeed a very popular sport, with a history dating back hundreds, if not thousands, of years.

Many professors were enthusiasts of dueling. Professor Flitwick of Ravenclaw had won the Dueling Championship.

Of course, wizard dueling was still a very dangerous sport. In dueling competitions several hundred years ago, there were often injuries that could not be healed, or even deaths.

Modern wizard dueling competitions were much more civilized and safer than before, but accidents still occurred from time to time.

However, even so, wizards remained passionate about it.

Of course, some people considered wizard dueling a rather barbaric sport.

The British Ministry of Magic was even preparing an "International Ban on Duelling Act" and attempting to persuade other countries to sign it.

Despite this, wizards' enthusiasm for dueling remained unstoppable. It could be foreseen that such legislation being signed was still a distant prospect.

Though Hermione loved studying, she was also very interested in sports like wizard dueling.

Now, with her newfound power, she was confident in her ability to win. She really hoped her parents could see her win the championship.

However, according to the "International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy," this was completely impossible, and her Muggle parents would also not support her participation in such a dangerous sport.

Helplessly, she had to go alone with Alaric.

However, after using Apparition and coming with Alaric to Paris, she was pleasantly surprised to find Professors Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Flitwick waiting for them.

"Good morning, Alaric and Miss Granger, you're here really early." Upon seeing them, the three professors greeted them warmly...

"Good morning, professors," Alaric nodded lightly.

Hermione, on the other hand, seemed somewhat flattered, warmly greeting the professors.

"It was Alaric who invited us," Professor Flitwick explained.

"He told us there's a surprise waiting for us at the dueling competition. I thought he was going to participate himself."

"Yes!" Professor McGonagall nodded.

"Though Alaric is my best student, I still think it might be a bit unfair if he participated."

"I'm not interested in dueling with them," Alaric shook his head.

"But, I've brought along a very talented student who will surely do well here."

"Are you referring to Miss Granger?" Professor Flitwick was somewhat surprised.

"I didn't expect you'd been teaching her. Last semester, Miss Granger made significant progress in spellcasting."

"Her proficiency in Transfiguration is also remarkable," Professor McGonagall added.

"Trust me, she will surprise you all. Hermione's dueling skills are as outstanding as her academic performance."

Alaric smiled faintly, speaking mysteriously.

"Oh, Alaric never exaggerates," Dumbledore smiled.

"Miss Granger is also one of the finest students Hogwarts has ever had. I think we can all look forward to it."

"Don't worry, Miss Granger, we'll be rooting for you," the professors encouraged Hermione.

"Thank you, professors." Hermione was very touched. "I will definitely not disappoint your expectations on the field."

Then she looked at Alaric again.

"Thank you, but why did you think of inviting the professors?"

"Silly girl," Alaric said with a smile.

"When I saw how sad you were when you found out your parents couldn't attend, I thought, if there was only me cheering for you at the arena, wouldn't you feel very lonely?

And don't be fooled by the professors' scholarly demeanor now; they were all skilled duelists in their youth."

"Thank... thank you," Hermione said, suddenly kissing him deeply on the corner of his mouth.

Not only did Alaric teach her everything, but he also always cared for her, silently behind her back, which moved her inexplicably.

"Anyway, I won't let you down."
