charms club
the next day Alex went to the great hall and eating the breakfast, professor flitwick asked him about joining the charms club, Alex agreed to join the the club since he want to learn from battling others as for the transfiguration club, Alex told McGonagall about flitwick's invitation and politely denied by saying he will definitely join the club next year, although disappointed for a moment after hearing Alex will join next year McGonagall smiled and left.
Alex is now studying the handwritten book by flitwick and noticed the advanced shield charm, it can block even black magic effectively and started to learn it, this charm needs deep understanding of shielding charm as well as a part of patronus like knowledge to activate, the only difference is patronus needs Happy memory where this spell needs desire to protect one self and a strong will.
after 2 hours of practice he mastered the advanced shield charm, it works like an iron shield in all directions with a little magic output higher than normal shielding charm.
Alex also noticed many spells like guiding spell, voice amplification charm, special fire charm that will take a shape, bone mending and also some light healing magic. he is amazed by flitwick's knowledge on spells not only combat spells like needle rush but also healing spells are present in it.
he visited flitwick's office at evening for club activity, the members in the club are all seniors at 6th and 7th years except Percy who is a 5th year. they all thought Alex only arrived to flitwick's office to ask a doubt and are looking at him interestingly, the club members have 2 Griffindor, 2 Ravenclaw, 1 Hufflepuff and 2 Slytherin.
Foley, Thomas who is Slytherin 7th year is looking at Alex with a ridiculous gaze since they think they are superior to him as they are pureblood and he is a half-blood. they are eager to fight him and gave him a torturous treatment if possible.
Alex noticed the gazes of the two Slytherins and flitwick is arrived at this time and announced that Alex is a new member of this club shocking everyone, Ravenclaw seniors are looking at him enviously since it took them 4 years to join this club after always asking flitwick since their 2nd year.
the Slytherin duo on the other hand sneered and said," professor, you're joking right. a 1st year who doesn't even know a spell correctly is joining this club, won't he hinder our growth and drag us down." flitwick caught their gaze and understood what this Slytherin snakes wanted and told them to duel him, if they have doubts of his performance. Alex also agreed since he is also eager to teach them a lesson.
Thomas eyes lit up and he challenged Alex to duel, Alex accepted it and flitwick arranged the stage for both of them and cast a barrier.
they both bowed down and took some steps.
Thomas didn't wait and shot, ' experlliamus' and stupefy spontaneously, but Alex invoked a normal shielding charm and blocked both the spells, the spells also deflected back and are about hit Thomas when he responded by dodging, Alex didn't give him time to breath as conjured 100 flock of birds and used the oppungo jinx to aim them at Thomas, while Thomas is busy dealing with birds that he didn't notice Alex experlliamus spell and went off stage by rolling.
Foley who had a smug look before the battle is now watching it with his eyes popped out and Alex asked him to come to the stage, Foley though don't want to go after Thomas is now on the floor.
Alex also beat him with his strength and joined the club successfully, the group members discussed about spells and Alex went to his room to sleep.
