Harry Potter: Blood of the Dragon[COMPLETE]

***This is a Harry Potter pre-canon fic.*** [The fic also involves Kingdom Building and real-world muggle geopolitics.] 1969, London Magnus, a 9-year-old boy got lost while watching a parade with his mummy. He looked around for her but only tired himself out, eventually taking a break under a tree in a park. But, that moment changed not just his, but also the destiny of the entire world. Because that tree was not normal, it contained inheritances from an ancient world-renowned wizard and a certain king. The tree had waited centuries for someone worthy and finally, it had found one. But what was so special that made little Magnus worthy? It's not possible that no other 9-year-old child ever slept under the tree in the past centuries. "OH! What a surprise, but a welcome one. At least, now I can rest easy that I made the right choice." The ancient tree thought to itself. ______________________ Tags: No Harem, Kind MC, Strong MC, decently strong to OP MC, Some Kingdom building. More of a slice-of-life story. 192. Crown Prince

"GODS... How can someone be so heavenly beautiful?" James Potter lustfully looked at the photo that just came in the mail.

"Hey... She's my girlfriend, find someone else if you want one." Sirius angrily took the photo away.

With a wide smile and a blush, he looked at the photo. It was so perfect. The girl in it was better than what was described in the letter. She was cute and beautiful.

Her amber eyes, her pale skin, her black hair. She seemed so unreal, too good to be true. But he was unable to think rationally, blinded by the beauty of this "girl".

In fact, Magnus had left enough hints, that if they had used their mind they could've found out it was him. But, they seemed to be too horny for rational thinking.

"Just one more day, mate. Then you can meet her." James cheered his best friend on. It was going to a very fun revelation.

"What should I bring her as a present? I'm sure she must be expecting something from me." Sirius nervously asked.

"Let's go to Diagon Alley, there must be something we could buy," James suggested.

...

Buckingham Palace,

New Years were supposed to be celebrated with family, not with a hundred unknown faces. Well, technically nearly all of the nobles in the country were related, because the old ways were of keeping the bloodline pure. Hell, it's possible that all of the remaining nobles in the whole of Europe are related.

Magnus and Ragnar just sat by a table and ate in peace. Meanwhile, his parents were just talking to people, slowly forming connections. Though Magnus doubted they would ever need to use these connections.

"Your Highness," The Prime Minister greeted him.

Magnus with a mouth full of shrimps turned. The man's name was Edward Richard George "Ted" Heath. Magnus didn't know much about him, and neither did he care about him, because the position of a Prime Minister was not something permanent, if one of them tries anything funny, he can just force them to retire. Controlling the public narrative was the easiest thing for him nowadays, as long as some newspaper or channel didn't have a personal grudge with him, he could feed them money.

He was all-in for the freedom of speech and everything, but that didn't mean he would stop using the media as a tool, because his enemies won't.

"Hello, Mr Heath. You want some shrimp?" Magnus asked.

"Haha, it must be very boring to be the youngest one, when secretly you are the strongest one in the room." He said. As the prime minister, he was aware of the wizarding world and Magnus' status too. There were a few nobles too who were aware.

"I see that as an advantage. I can joke around and people can only laugh." Magnus replied.

*FART NOISE*

The prime minister jumped up from his seat, and thankfully, there was a real balloon-like thing and not magic. With this, he could still save his image.

"See, can you get angry at me now? If you did, everyone else will see you badly." Magnus said.

Ragnar was holding his laughter but still, he made squeaky noises from his nose.

The prime minister laughed, "Haha... you are certainly quick-witted. I heard a lot about you, and I hope you will bring greater prosperity to the "muggle" world too."

Magnus shrugged, "You are the lawmaker, I'm just a weak little prince, the days of the royal glory are gone. But you can find me if you get stuck up somewhere."

The Prime Minister seemed relaxed, "For now, I can see a bright future for the economy. From tomorrow, Britain will become a part of the EEC. Our trade relations with the rest of Europe will become better."

"That's good and all but you can say goodbye to the development if your MPs commit corruption at the level of the Channel Tunnel or are found to be pedos," Magnus replied, making the Prime Minister choke on the wine.

"Perhaps this is enough lecturing for the prime minister," All of a sudden another voice came.

Magnus looked, it was an old man in a nice suit. He was Lord Mountbatten. Magnus was interested in this man because of his life's experiences. Because during the Second World War, he was Supreme Allied Commander, South East Asia Command. He was the last Viceroy of India and the first governor-general of independent India. He had many more... actually too many titles to count. The man was as successful as one can be.

Although Magnus knew that his noble background must have given him a headstart, but a headstart does not grant one brain. And to achieve all this, you need a good brain.

Seeing Lord Mountbatten, the Prime Minister left. So Magnus invited him to sit beside him. This was a man worth investing in a little. A little because he was already 72 years old.

Magnus had a shortcut to create a bond. This old man was supposed to be the 2nd cousin of the queen. This meant he was a grandpa too.

So he patted on the seat and called him, "Come, Grandpa. Sit with me."

Lord Montbatten chuckled seeing his shenanigans, he felt a funny tickle in his stomach after being called grandpa by probably who was going to be the most powerful king to have ever existed. But before sitting, he checked the seat.

"Haha, don't worry, I won't prank you," Magnus assured him.

With a sigh of relief, he sat down, "Good, I don't think my old bones can handle pranks anymore. So, how are you, your highness."

"Ah, just call me Magnus, and I am fine. By the way, can I ask you something?" Magnus started.

Ragnar was too focused on stuffing food and only heard him talk. But he was also interested in what Magnus wanted to ask.

"Sure, Magnus. Anything you want." Lord Mountbatten nodded.

"You were the last Viceroy of India. You met Gandhi, what kind of person was he?" Magnus asked while eating.

Lord Mountbatten thought for a while, "Hmm... he was certainly a very calm person, too calm actually. To be honest, if he had called for a violent uprising against the British, we would've been massacred and India would have gotten independent much earlier."

"Then why didn't he?" Magnus asked.

"Religious divide. A violent revolution rarely results in a peaceful democracy. If they had chosen the violent path, then after getting independence, we would have seen religious wars going on in the country." Lord Mountbatten explained.

"Well, we did promote the division, that's how the empire used to rule, divide and rule, that was the law of that era. But, revolution does end up great sometimes. Look at the United States." Magnus argued.

Lord Mountbatten chuckled. "Well, I said peaceful democracies, are they peaceful? Sure, in their home they might be, but for god's sake, they are addicted to wars and spreading their concept of freedom."

"That they are. Grandpa, do wizards also fight in these wars?" Magnus inquired.

"No, not that I know of. They don't consider fighting human wars worthy of their magic. Still, sometimes you would find one or two wizards, for this the government talks to the ministry and they solve the matter. I remember a few Japanese wizards caused us a lot of trouble in Burma during the second world war." Lord Mountbatten explained.

~So if I want to keep peace around the world, I need to unite the magical world first.~ Magnus realised.

"You want shrimp?" Magnus passed on the plate to the old man.

"Sure," Lord Mountbatten also started chomping on them tasty shrimps.

"Oh, there is going to be a family meeting, later on, so don't run away after the party. I think the queen will be addressing who the next heir will be."

"Really? I'm interested now." Magnus muttered.

...

The party lasted till 10 in the night. Most of the nobles were old folks, they didn't care about New Year. They just wanted to go home and sleep calmly.

After that, the immediate family of the queen gathered. Her husband, her children and grandchildren, which were just Magnus and Ragnar at the moment.

"I want to discuss who the crown prince will be. After the new act is passed, I will be able to choose one of my immediate family members. Charles, do you want to be the king?" The queen asked.

Charles yawned, "No, mother. I don't want it."

"I don't want it either." Adam also voiced immediately. To him, it was good riddance.

Then, the next came Magnus, according to the hierarchical order. "What about you, dear Magnus?"

Magnus smirked, this was a ploy of the queen to stop any dissidents in the family. "Yes, Granny, I will become the king. I think I have a very good name for that."

"Huh, you don't become the king with a good name. You need a good mind, achievements, to become one." the now 3rd child of the queen, Princess Anne scoffed.

Magnus, with a smile, turned to her, "I recommend you do a background check on me and see all my achievements. If you still have any doubts about my competency then I am ready to debate with you."

*CLAP CLAP*

"Don't fight now. There is nothing to talk about, by the normal hierarchical order, Prince Magnus will become the crown prince after the act is passed. No more questions, good night and happy new year." The queen shushed everyone and left.

Magnus saw Prince Philip, the queen's husband looking at him with a frown as he left. ~Hmm, is he still salty with me?~

But, he paid no heed to it as it was a joyous day. He will become the crown prince in a few months, and with that, he will be just 1 step away from kingship.

"Mummy, let's go to Camelot and celebrate the new year with Abe, George, Martha, Duck and everyone else," Magnus suggested in the car.

"Hmm, that's a great idea, sweetie. Old Martha must get lonely in that castle. She also doesn't mingle with the people there." Grace was worried about the old humanoid cat.

"Then let's surprise her," Ragnar added.

"Let's GOOO..." Adam pushed the accelerator and went faster on the empty road.

"ADAM! Don't drive so rashly, we are not in your sports car." Grace soon scolded him, making him go on at normal speed. Nobody could win with their wife, it seemed.
