Harry Potter: Becoming a Study God

Wade: I only have seven years to study at Hogwarts. If you exclude holidays, that's just 266 weeks! Even if I could thoroughly understand one book a week, that's only 266 books! How many magical books are there in the Hogwarts library? Thousands upon thousands! Time is fleeting, how could I not seize every moment to study?! I won’t allow anyone to disrupt my study environment—not even the Dark Lord! No, no, no, it’s not just a simple love for knowledge. I’m simply greedy. ************** This is not my story and is written by a Chinese author. I am Just translating it.... This is a Machine translation. Chapter 71: Rules and Packages

Wade raised an eyebrow and turned to see Barnabas the Barmy from the tapestry.

Every time he entered or exited the Room of Requirement, he would first see this tapestry.

Sometimes, he saw Barnabas forcing trolls to wear tutus and dance ballet; other times, the trolls were using large clubs to whack Barnabas on the head. The two were always entangled within the tapestry, never speaking, never going anywhere else.

He originally thought this was because tapestries were different from portraits…

At this moment, the trolls in the tapestry were lying nearby, asleep, while the wizard sat cross-legged on the ground, clearly watching him with a serious expression.

"Barna—uh, Mr. Barnabas?"

"It's fine, just call me Barnabas the Barmy; everyone else does," Barnabas said casually before asking, "I'm guessing you took something out of the Room of Requirement?"

"Yes," Wade admitted straightforwardly. "But it doesn't belong to the Room of Requirement—it was placed there by someone else, just like the broom I took before."

"It doesn't matter if it was placed inside by someone else, child," Barnabas said slowly.

"In this castle, all abandoned items will eventually end up in this room. Once they're forgotten by their owners, they become part of the Room of Requirement.

You can take what you need, like that broom, but you shouldn't take what you don't need or use the Room of Requirement to satisfy personal desires."

"Personal desires?" Wade questioned. "Like what?"

"Like selling items from inside for profit," Barnabas paused and added, "If you really need money, you could rummage through the piles—you might find some Galleons that could cover your daily needs."

"So—what if I do take things I don't need?" Wade asked further.

Barnabas responded sternly, "One day, the items you took will return to Hogwarts in a way you'll least want to see. And because you violated the purpose of entering the Room of Requirement, you will ultimately suffer the consequences of the magical contract."

His tone was grave and sympathetic, as if he could already foresee Wade's tragic fate of dying miserably or being tormented for refusing his advice.

Next to him, one of the trolls grunted in its sleep, scratched its butt, and rolled over to continue sleeping. Its smelly foot ended up right in front of Barnabas, forcing him to pinch his nose and move to another spot.

After adjusting his mood, he continued to stare at Wade with a heavy gaze.

Wade couldn't help but chuckle and asked:

"So, if I found a dangerous Dark magic item in the Room of Requirement and took it away to prevent it from harming other students, would that also count as violating the contract?"

"Oh—oh—is that so—"

Barnabas's train of thought was interrupted. He pondered for a long moment before stammering, "Well—this would probably count as doing a good deed—the castle, the castle would be grateful to you—of course, it wouldn't count as violating the contract—"

"Anyway, thanks for your advice, Barnabas. Once I've dealt with the Dark magic on it, I'll bring it back."

Wade waved and turned to leave.

After walking some distance, Wade couldn't hold back a soft sigh.

When he had finally located the Room of Requirement with the help of house-elves, he had once wondered if he needed a room filled with Galleons or Time-Turners—could the Room of Requirement provide that?

Or, if he took all the books and alchemy tools from the room while studying, would it be empty the next time he came back, or would everything he needed reappear?

After thinking it over, Wade ultimately suppressed his restless thoughts and didn't test whether the Room of Requirement had such a loophole.

He wasn't the first to discover the Room of Requirement. Before him, countless students and professors had likely uncovered its magical functions. Even Voldemort had hidden his Horcrux there, and the room wasn't a secret among the castle's house-elves.

If items in the Room of Requirement could really be taken freely, wouldn't previous students have discovered this loophole? It's unlikely that everyone would be as high-minded as Harry Potter, who never considered exploiting the Room of Requirement for profit.

At the very least, young Tom Riddle was someone who could fully exploit any resource. The only explanation for why he didn't empty the Room of Requirement was that he couldn't, not that he didn't want to.

It seems likely that Tom Riddle, too, received a warning from Barnabas back then.

With his personality, he wouldn't easily believe what a tapestry told him. After all, he was a master of Dark magic and a descendant of Slytherin—he probably even tried various ways to test it and eventually found that the tapestry was right…

Room of Requirement—it exists to help those who are truly in need.

Wade had long suspected that entering the room involved some sort of invisible contract, which is why he hadn't tried anything reckless. But when his suspicions were finally confirmed, he still couldn't help but feel disappointed.

Who wouldn't love getting something for nothing?

Wade patted his face, reminding himself that he had already received a lot of help from the Room of Requirement. Greed knows no bounds—don't let desire drive you to forget what you truly want.

The next morning, the sky finally cleared.

After enduring heavy snow and endless rain, the students were thrilled by the sunny weather. Many of them woke up early, strolling in groups, chatting, and playing around on the grassy grounds surrounding the castle.

During breakfast, countless owls flew into the Great Hall, dropping packages in front of students.

Despite the advent of Book of Friends, these wizarding world couriers hadn't been replaced or retired; they still carried packages of all sizes, flying across the skies of Great Britain.

Eva, Wade's owl, landed beside him, bringing new candies and sweets made by his mother Fiona. She pecked at Wade's arm in annoyance, seemingly upset that he had left her at home.

Wade tore off some beef for her. Only after swallowing it did Eva seem satisfied, cooing a couple of times before spreading her wings and flying away.

Wade shared some of the candies and sweets from the package with his classmates before turning to say, "Michael—"

"Yeah?" Michael responded while complimenting, "Mrs. Grey's peanut candy is delicious!"

"I'll leave some in the Umbrella room later. Take as much as you like," Wade said. "Could you help me take some photos in a bit?"

"Sure!" Michael agreed easily and asked, "Did you get a camera?"

"It's a Christmas gift from my father," Wade replied.

"Take a few of me too—I haven't thought about taking any photos since arriving at school!"

"Of course."

Just as the two were about to finish breakfast quickly, two more owls flew toward Wade—one dropped a letter, and the other left a large package.

Michael was surprised. "Did your family send you all this stuff?"

"No," Wade said, looking at the name on the envelope. "This isn't from my parents."
