Second Novel

After figuring out my next moves, I spent the rest of my day just watching tv and laying on the couch until everyone got home. It was easy getting the numbers and reaching out to them. After discussing everything with them, they all agreed since they also recognised that it wasn't a random decision to call them particularly but because they had been there in the hard times and I wanted to take them along on our road to success. For the rest of the month, I left the redecoration and buying of the necessary machines to my sister's best friend with the only requirement being that they had to be the best on the market. My only task was being the wallet and I didn't fear being taken advantage of because she had proven to a truthworthy person. The same applied to the aunties in charge of my mom's shop. I even got apartments close to the shops for everyone which cost me close to a million dollars due to how expensive houses close to the villa area was. Besides i would move the family when the 10 months rent was up so to make everything less stressful, I already started setting things up for the eventual relocation. To make things less suspicious and to reduce any indebtedness they might feel if they found out just how expensive the houses were, I left the properties to Monica's company and specifically tasked her to be in charge of the rent they thought was the standard price. Of course, the money they were paying was only enough for the commission to the company and the property taxes. So they were closer to the shops and our future home. All this was done in secret and as the days went by, things were looking up. Right in the first week of November, everything was set up and all that was left was to tell them the good news but all that I had done could not be explained with the money had so I had to wait until December for it to be a little reasonable. The family was still kept in the dark and the only thing that changed was when my sister said one evening that her best friend had spent some time off work moving to a new place but she wouldn't let her come to help her move. It was a whole discussion at dinner that night but it was quickly forgotten and life went on. At this time, to further make things more explicable, I started writing a new novel and this one was on how people tend to forget their roots and people that helped them when they make it big.

"The main characters were two friends who started a business together and had the opportunity of selling the business at bigger price than were worth at the time. One friend immediately wanted to sell it off and live an extravagant life whiles the other wanted to keep it and gradually improve it into a bigger enterprise. After the impatient person made a big fuss about it which even involved their families, it was later agreed that the business would be sold. As soon as the money came, the impatient guy left everyone in the town to head to the city to live a fast life whiles they who had supported him all his life were left to fend for themselves. If the calm friend didn't intercede, things would've gotten bad. He started investing all the money he had in the local businesses to make them more stable and profitable which also helped him in the end. Although this wasn't a very profitable way of making money, everyone was benefitting of this and gradually, the whole town was becoming successful. He was even made major and things really took off when he came to power because he was always doing things that helped the town. The town gradually moved in a super successful direction and they were even become a wealthy district compared to the surrounding towns. Meanwhile, the impatient friend came to the city and was spending recklessly on cars, girls and parties. At first, his family and friends who loved him called him to come back home. Thinking they were saying these things because they needed help, he always told them to grow their own work and stop leeching off others and hung up on them. After a while, they all stopped any forms of communication since they realised that he had now shown them who he really was upon making it and not needing them anymore. He now had people who were blowing up his already inflated ego and girls were flocking to him so he felt on top of the world. Until his money dried up. Oh how fast everyone run from him. It took just a day for news to fly that the latest sheep was sucked dry and moved on to the next. That was when reality set in as he saw the next guy living the exact life he had just lived and being exalted the same way. This guy had been at the top of the food chain and had now fallen to the bottom. The ridicule and shame chased him out of the city and he sold the little assets he had left. He came to the city with pride and left with shame. Upon reaching the town, he was shocked as the place couldn't just be described as a town anymore but a wealthy district. He hide his face with fear of being recognised until he got to his house. He didn't know that the very moment he got to town, everyone who knew him were notified and the closest people were waiting at his parents house. He saw all these people he grew up with looking at him in silence with his parents in the very centre. He dropped on his knees and crawled to their feet to seek forgiveness. After a long period of silence, a strong hand lifted him up and he looked up to see his father with tears his eyes saying a man should not kneel. The mom shouted that her son is home and everyone started cheering. Even his best friend who was now a major was present and he realised that no matter how far you get in life, your home will always be your home and embrace you."
