Chapter 9

After Jadster finished eating his course. We trudge outside the restaurant, waiting for a cab. Adrin is talking to his phone nearby. If he would suggest going ride up with him again, I will strictly say no.

"Lana, let's just get a ride on his car," he suggests and I raised an eyebrow.

"No! We'll go back there by cab. I don't want to owe his kindness in the future," I remark and he brushes his hair in annoyance.

I don't care if he will get mad me. I just don't want him to ride in his car again. Besides, I don't even know him. He is a cryptic and I hate it.

A few minutes later we saw a cab running towards us. Before I could step onto it. I was confused that he has gone. Where the hell is he? I roamed my eyes to the whole place and my eyes enlarge in surprise when I saw my cousin in his car.

"Lana, come here!" He shouts and waves his hand.

I roll my eyes and get inside the cab who stopped in front of me just a while ago. I might no longer lose in this small town because I know the way anyway.

I instruct the man to where we should go. Later on, we stop in front of tita Felsie's house. It was painted with white caramel mixed with peach. It was cool actually.

I give my fare and walk inside the house. As I stepped the door I saw a woman sitting from a distance. She's facing the opposite direction from mine. But I recognized her Brazilian brown hair already.

"Mom?" I say and she turns her head to face me.

"Lana." She stands up and walked over me.

I step backward when she was near me. But however, she strides fast that's why I have no choice but remained in my position. Without any seconds I felt her hands at my back.

"Thank god, you're okay," she says and I roll my eyes.

Where the hell she gets those lines? Oh, well I have been seen her watching movies. So, maybe that's the root where she gets those lines she throws to me.

"Why are you here?" I ask and she loosened her hands.

"What?" she asks in surprise.

I know it was bad to argue with your mother but in my situation, I don't think was it really bad at all. Knowing my mother was kind of hell to me. She always mocks, scowls, and yells at me. We were like roasters, cockfighting to not beat our egos.

"Why are you here?" I ask.

Her brow creased. "How dare you asking me that way."

"I'm just asking mom. You know what, look, you don't have to go here. I'm okay and besides this wasn't the first time. So what's the big deal?" I sneer.

She raised her hand in the air in an attempt to slap me. Well, I don't care if she slaps me because there was no more than the pain I was ordeal before.

"Go ahead, mom. I'm waiting. Show them your true color," I say aloud.

She rubs her temples. "I don't know where am I missing you to treat me this way. I raised you to be a better person not to be a bra—"

"Mom, I'm here..." his voice lowers down in the end.

"I'm sorry, I don't know there's a guest here," he apologizes and gets outside.

She shoots me a glare and grabs her bag and walks into the door. But before she steps outside the door. She leaves a hilarious remark.

"From now on. Feed on your own." She storms out.

I rub my temples in displeasure where the only root is my bitch mother. I am not threatened just for she knows. I can stand on my own and I'll prove it that to her.
