Chapter 5: The Monologue, part 2

Chamber #3: A small room with a bowl in the corner. "After the Voritgaunt from the last chamber had started chasing our scientists throughout the building, we were able to portal it into this room and lock it inside. We found that it always seemed to want our crystals, which seemed to also be native to Xen. For some reason, it always seemed like its behavior was being modified by someone else. Perhaps the vortessence that these creatures utilize makes them act like a hivemind."

Chamber #5: A similar room to chamber #2. "After we ran some experiments with the Vortigaunt in Chamber #4, we decided to send it back to Xen, as it was always hostile and was going to use up our crystals. The scientist in charge of setting the parameters for the Anti-Mass Spectrometer had transposed some of the values, causing a creature to teleport in rather than teleport the Vortigaunt out. After a brief but intense battle, the mystery creature won; thankfully, we had a lock-down protocol for this room and were able to contain the creature for further investigation.

Chamber #6: A room with a chain-link fence inside it.

"Oh, I know these blokes. Gordon, this is Anthony and the Fritz Brothers. They are a small, underground band, but they should be playing their jams rather than GlaDOS's stuffy, nonsensical opera songs. Hey guys, why don't you play one of your hits for my friend here."

"Ok boys, let's go with #3. One, two, three…"

(This song is sung to the beat of the chorus of "We Built this City" by Starship. As with the original, the chorus is sung several times in a row.)

"Cave built Aperture.

Cave built Aperture on greed and fraud."

"Good stuff, ehh? Well, keep playing guys, someone other than me will find your music to be spectacular and take you guys on a company tour."

Chamber #7: A room with an Anti-Mass Spectrometer. "We filled Chamber #5 with sleeping gas to see how the creature from the planet we are calling "X" would respond. After it turned out that it made the creature sleep, we transferred it to this chamber and teleported it back to X. Let's just say that, from our experience, that if another company found a large crystal and used a AMS on it, then heaven help them.
