At dawn, Micah "Woke up" alongside the other two. Ever since he became the Concept Of Faith and found out that he doesn't need food or sleep, he rarely slept. He could, but it would take hours of complete silence to do so. So, he usually stayed up practising using his powers until the mornings. He made sure to wake up in time with them and act at least a little sleepy, he didn't want people to worry about him not sleeping. Were Sorana and Richard even gonna believe he could stay up forever if he wanted to? Questions he rather not know the answers to, for now. First, he needed to figure out everything about his powers, then he could try and explain them to others. And on the topic of that, he found out that even though Blue said she would be more informative, she still only explained parts of his perks when he found them. Most of what he knew now was through trial and error.
"Good morning, Micah. A most wonderful morning we have today." Richard said and waltzed right past him into the kitchen.
"M-Morning to you too! And, to you as well, Sorana. How was your sleep?" He looked at the girl only wearing parts of her outfit as she struggled her way down the stairs. 'A heavy sleeper perhaps?' Even more surprising then her current behaviour, which was unusual for her, he could, because of her laziness see a lot of skin on her and he wasn't aroused in the slightest. Not even curious.
'I am still a teenage boy, right?' He patted himself down quickly and the answer was still yes. Very much so.
"Why are you looking so distressed?" She asked and looked him in the eyes with a tilted head. He was slightly taller than her, so despite him being able to see the majority of her cleavage, there was still no reaction.
'Blue, what the hell is going on!?' Micah panicked on the inside but smiled and chuckled nervously as he just said. "Nothing at all, I think Richard is looking for food in the kitchen. Why don't you go and join him, I will be there in just a second." He motioned her to move along, which she did slowly and with unsteady steps. A true heavy sleeper. Awake but not at the same time.
'Master, I see you discovered the side effects of losing mortality. Concepts don't feel carnal desires. Well, we feel very little.' She sounded oddly smug about it.
'Wait, wait, I can't do... That, to anyone?'
'Of course, you can, Master. You are still biologically male, you can always change that later if you would like.'
'Very little? What do we feel?' As a former human, he felt as if this should be one of the moments where panic would set in. But, nothing came of it, he felt just fine, maybe just curious of what Blue meant by desire.
'Things like greed, material desire is lost on you. The most prevalent desire all {Faith} hosts share is intimacy with a chosen partner.'
'Do you mean love?'
'Precisely, Master. {Faith} is supposed to be pure, innocent and completely free of corruption. Not any of your predecessors have had a harem of partners. {Faith} hosts are fated to bond with only one person and that bond will stay for eternity.' There was a pause in the middle of her sentence, and Micah felt his stomach turn in anticipation of what she was gonna say next. 'Being my host is both a blessing and a curse. You will find your chosen one in time if you haven't found them already.'
'Then I don't believe it's Sorana. I don't have siblings, but I imagine what I feel towards her is what a brother would feel for his sister. There is no attraction for her, I just want to protect her.'
"Micah! Food is on the table! Come if you want some, or S-Sorana might eat it all." Richard's voice came from the kitchen. "HEY, Save some for the rest of us, Sorana! You better come now, She is literally devouring the food!"
'Let's discuss this at another time.' Micah said to Blue who responded with a chuckle.
Making his way into the kitchen he saw Sorana literally devouring food. It was disappearing faster than they could trace with their eyes. Richard had started doing the same, just trying to get anything in, but he lacked speed in comparison to Sorana.
"You have much to learn, Richard," Micah said with a chuckle as he sat down to admire the competition. They hadn't even noticed that he wasn't eating anything. They were too busy trying to out-eat each other.
****Hours Later****
They had left the village a few good hours ago and with Richard's help, they were on the actual right track to Magnolia. Micah noticed how Richard's knowledge of the world was quite large in comparison to Sorana, which was understandable given his position in his former guild. He knew most big names in Fairy Tail and could talk about their magic like he had seen it up close.
Sorana reverted to her much more passive attitude after getting some food in her stomach. Also when the sleepiness wore off she changed into the Sorana they knew. The one with pretty much no expression, but she would still smile from time to time when either of the guys did something silly.
Another hour passed as they walked with a casual pace and they reached Magnolia. It was a magnificent city there was no gloominess hanging over it like his old village. The question was if Fairy Tail was responsible for how lively this city felt. And, if other guilds had similar effects on their respective cities.
"Are you still sure we should do this? We could still walk away and continue your plan on our own." Richard didn't mind which way they took on this path, he merely wanted Micah to make the best possible decision for himself.
"I'm sure." Micah looked at the various shops lining up along the white cobble-streets. While doing some window-shopping he saw clothes that were entirely foreign to him. Most in the village wore very cheap clothing, mostly rags of different qualities. This here was proper clothing, and it got him remembering that they were flat broke. Ones again, a whisp of anxiety washed over him, but like some emotionless killer, it went away rather quickly.
"I agree with you on this one, Boss. Fairy Tail is known not only for their powerful members but also for their extensive knowledge of magic. They are among the oldest guilds in Fiore from what I remember." Sorana wore a teasing smile as she laid out the new nickname. Immediately his humble nature kicked in and Micah grew completely red and his face heated up.
"B-Boss? Come on, no need for that. Blue already calls me Master and that's weird enough. I don't want my friends jumping on that train too." Too late, of course.
"You're the boss of the future strongest independent mage group. You better get used to it." Richard said as a matter of facts.
"Damn you two. My revenge will be coming. It will be swift and deadly, like a-"
"Do NOT say what I think you are about to say!" Sorana grabbed him by the arm and squeezed tightly. "I warn you. I will suffocate you in your sleep!"
"Fine, I got it. I wasn't gonna say anything bad," Micah defended but he knew Sorana could tell. He was a horrible lier. He scratched his neck, he looked in every direction, the tell-tale signs of lying were unbelievably obvious on him. That was one of the reasons Sorana liked him. Honesty was new to her, and to Richard, they appreciated that he would never lie to them, and even if he tried, they would know. It provided them with an odd sense of security.
"Yes, you were, Boss," Richard said, solidifying the nickname.
"If this continues I will give up on my dreams and become a hermit instead. Living in solitude where I don't need to meet people." Micah looked away from his friends for a second and walked up to a stranger and coughed to get his attention. "Excuse me, Sir. We are looking for Fairy Tail, you don't happen to know where that is, do you?"
"Fairy Tail? Well, of course, why wouldn't I. I'm one of its most prominent mages." The man said with a smile. He turned to face Micah and pulled out an obviously exaggerated prideful voice. "I am Macao, a powerful mage of Fairy Tail."
"I highly doubt that. I barely sense an ounce of magic power on you." Sorana said in a very familiar condescending tone.
"Hey, it's true. There might be some who are stronger than me, but not by a lot!" He refuted angrily.
Micah held up his hand to stop Sorana's response. "Not important. Could you point us in the right direction?"
"Sure, it's that way! Just keep following the canal running through the city and you'll arrive there eventually." He was glancing in annoyance at Sorana, but the slight hint of red over his cheeks made her cross her arms over her chest.
Micah felt the stale awkwardness in the air and said. "Right, well, we will just be on our way then. Thanks, Macao, and I guess we'll see you later." Micah went for a handshake which he gladly acknowledged.
After leaving the semi-pervert behind, they continued up the canal in this pristine white city and in doing so they reached the Fairy Tail building. It was large and impressive, and most of all it lacked that horrible smell and depressing air that the Oracion Seis base possessed. "Impressive," Micah said calmly as he rested his gaze on the enormous green double-doors.
"I think I might like it here," Richard said. "Rich environment, cultured people, and tons of potential for profit. I'll definitely like it here." He smiled twisted into a grin which it always did when money was the prominent topic of conversation.
"Well, let's not stand here like fools, people are looking."
"Right, Sorana you wanna have the honour of opening the doors?" Micah took the moment as something to remember, but she did not. With a simple wave of her hand, she declared his question as nonsense.
"Suit yourself, I'll do it myself." Micah was followed closely by his friends when he reached the doors and pushed with all his might. Because they were so big he expected a lot of physical resistance, but they were very light, at least for him and they swung open with such force that they cracked a little.
"THIS IS FOR LEVY!!" A pink-haired boy flew straight at Micah as soon as the doors flew open. Micah with some mastery over his powers experienced speed and time to an extent different than others. For a few milliseconds, the boy stood almost still in the air thanks to Micah's mind being able to comprehend incredible speeds. So, when the boy arrived Micah could pretty easily side-step him.
"HEY! What the hell are you doing attacking my Boss for!?" Richard's eyes glowed bright-yellow and the ground started to change.
"Richard, stop it!"
"Hey, I'm not an enemy!" Micha dodged another punch but this one came in a lot harder and faster than the last. "Idiot, stop attacking your guests!" He finally had enough and punched back and sent the boy flying when he side-stepped and delivered a punch to his face.
"People of Fairy Tail, I come in peace!" He said loudly hoping to overpower everyone that was screaming here. The looks they got was hostile, to say the least, and he had no idea why. He saw everyone stop when he hit Natsu and declared peace. A small man, a dwarf even, walked up to him with his gaze locked on him. Everything had happened so quick, first, the boy had jumped at him with ferocious anger which he could feel inside the boy and now this old man was walking towards him.
Micah took a short step back. 'This guy is no joke, what the hell is this presence?!' Micah's senses had obviously increased exponentially when he started to really master his powers, and this old man made his danger-sense go through the roof. He was stronger than Brain, Micah was sure of that.
"My name is Makarov! I am the master of Fairy Tail, I am gonna have to ask you to identify yourselves. Something has happened to a few my kids and everyone is on high alert." His tone wasn't pleasant, it was filled with rage.
"I-I can feel that. I can sense your rage, and I apologize for barging in. I lost control of my strength there for a second, you see. I didn't mean to frighten anyone." Micah gestured to Sorana and Richard. "My name is Micah, and this is Sorana and Richard. We were hoping to join the guild." His tone was currently submissive by nature thanks to the life he has lived. With experience, this would change, but now it helped with the believability of his greeting.
"Micah?" Makarov looked him up and down. "That is an odd name, and definitely one I would remember. And you fit the description. You don't happen to know Levy, do you?" He asked calmly.
"Levy? Yes, yes I do! We met some weeks ago!" His tone blew up in excitement as her name was mentioned. He hadn't even registered the pink-haired boy yelling that same name before attacking him or else their fight might have gone differently.
"So you are the one. She came back after having met you rather excited about your meeting." Makarov dropped his anger as if he could control his emotions by will alone. "I apologize for the rude welcoming. How was your trip?"
"G-Good, there were some hiccups, but otherwise quite splendid. Anyway, where is Levy, I would like to say hi to her." He noticed the mention of her name triggered rage in all the members around them. He could feel the incredible combined rage they all shared. This worried him greatly and he started feeling sick, they would not feel like this if she was okay.
"About that. Levy, Droy and Jett were attacked last night. They are resting in the back. I know you two bonded, but I can't let you see them, I don't know you yet and I can't take risks with the safety of my kids."
Micah felt the pain inside Makarov and nodded in understanding. "No worries. I completely understand. She will be okay, right? I am just average, but I do have some skill in the art of healing." This was something Richard and Sorana reacted to. They knew exactly how precious that was, but that set off warning bells inside their head. Who would go around and announce that you can use healing magic? Well, Micah, of course. He had no knowledge of what rare magic meant in the world, or what magic was considered rare or forgotten.
"You know healing magic?" Makarovs eyes shot open, understandably
"Well, it's not magic, per se. But, yeah, something like that." He smiled as he tried to ignore the intense stares he got from the people around him. Now even Richard and Sorana stared at him like he was a complete stranger.
"That's mighty impressive, boy. They're fine, they should wake up soon I was told. In the meantime, let us take care of your invites, shall we. Levy has already spoken highly of you, but I don't know the two behind you. They are new, no?"
"Yes, we became friends when they kidnapped me." Micah blurted out. 'Oh no... That was a royal mistake.' He tried to take it back instantly. "I mean, they saved me from exhaustion. I overused my powers and they saved me from starvation." He managed to deter some of them, the others were just looking at the three with some very confused gazes.
"What's with these weirdos?" They heard from some table behind them. A shirtless boy regarded the new-arrived trio with a gaze mixed with arrogance and excitement. Sorana wanted to retaliate but managed to keep it together. "The girl's cute though."
"Show some decency!" And a slap was heard. The shirtless boy had been smacked in the head by a very lovely-looking blonde woman. Looked to be the same age as Sorana.
"ignore these kids of mine, they have always been rather loud and aggressive." Makarov walked with them to the bar.
"Why do you call them kids? If you don't mind my asking."
"Well, Micah. They're my kids, everyone in Fairy Tail is. This is our family, it's not a lot but we have carved out our own little piece of the world and we protect it together."
"That's very admirable. I've heard things about this guild and I have to say, I am truly unprepared. I wasn't expecting this level of chaos." Micah said. Makarov seemed to flinch a little at that. He felt both pride and annoyance.
"They cause heavy damage and endless trouble with the council, but in the end, screw everyone else. This family here is what matters to me most. I would die to protect it!" His tone was filled with suppressed anger. Many might not notice it, but Micah could feel it clearly. His mind was too fine-tuned to not notice such a prominent emotion.
"Master, I have the stamp here." A beautiful woman with long white hair stood by the bar with a magical stamp in hand. She looked like the definition of a hostess, very beautiful and respectful. "Who wishes to go first?" She looked at the group of newly joined mages.
"Wait, we're in? Just like that?" Micah asked utterly confused. Makarov just said he doesn't trust them and he was more than willing to wait a few days and have a couple of interviews.
"Just like that!" Makarov jumped up on the bar and on queue, the woman handed him a cup of alcohol. "On top of Levy's own recommendation, Fairy Tail doesn't shy away from strangers. Here we are all equal and everyone is welcome as long as you follow the rules of the guild." He smiled, perfectly hiding his true emotions.
"Which is?"
"Do not kill fellow members. Do not reveal secrets about the guild regardless of you being an active member or not. And lastly, drink at least one cup of alcohol a day!"
He immediately received a pinch on the arm. "That is not right, Master. I apologize for his behaviour. My name is Mirajane and that last rule was a lie. Drinking is entirely up to the individual."
"Are you sure that you're not the real guild Master here?" Micah said in an attempt to joke but instead managed to rile up the actual master.
"Are we drinking?" An almost top-less woman walked up and threw her arm around Sorana. "The name is Cana, can I introduce you to some beer?" She glanced sideways at Sorana's face with interest. "You look boring, come let's make you fun!" She didn't even look at Micah or Richard, she just dragged Sorana away with her.
Micah saw Sorana mouthing the words 'Help me!' but he consciously chose to ignore that and let her live a little. She needed to open up more to strangers. She was fine when it was just them but she hadn't said a word since they got here, she had only been glaring at the men giving her weird looks.
"I guess we'll get to that later." Mirajane smiled and looked at Micah first. "Where do you want yours?" She held up her stamp.
"Right here!" He lifted up his shirt and exposed his right pectoral muscle. She firmly placed it against his chest while also silently admiring the boy's amazing physique. This now signified his membership in Fairy Tail, and would forever be part of the family of weirdos.
"Welcome, my boy! Now, onto the next one." Makarov drank a toast and then pointed at Richard.
"I bet Levy will be relieved that I'm fine," Micah said quietly and that reminded Makarov on the previous statement made by the boy. He gestured for Micah to come closer and sit on one of the stools.
"So, do you want to tell me their history now, or later?" His question made Micah sweat immediately. He knew this was coming even without his colossal failure a few minutes ago.
"Eh, I-I don't know what you may be referring to..." He looked sideways, then at the roof then glanced at Richard. 'Shit, I'm becoming even more incapable of lying. Is this another trait of Faith?'
'Yes, Master. A Master of Light must never deviate from the path of honesty.' Blue answered. He almost always forgets that even his mundane and casual thoughts were heard by her. She was ever-present inside his mind.
"Hahahahaha! Boy, come one, even you must know that you are horrible at lying. look at your posture. It's awful." Makarov felt some genuine happiness looking at the goofy display of Micah's horrible acting. He glanced at Richard who was looking at Micah, seeming a little uncomfortable. "I can sense lingering darkness on them. You only get that specific air about you in one way." He didn't need to say more, Micah knew most of what the two's history had involved.
"You're right, we knew we wouldn't be able to hide it for long. Can we go somewhere private?" This Makarov agreed to easily.
They made their way into the back where Levy and the boys were resting. They weren't in the same room as them, but the one next door. It was a small one with a desk, a couple of chairs and a sofa. The walls were painted dark-red, and the dimly-lit magical lamps on the wall served only to enhance the comfy feeling. Micah, Richard and a very drunk Sorana sat down on the sofa. Makarov sat on the desk like he had something against chairs and Mirajane together with a red-head draped in armour stood beside him.
"No one will hear anything we say in here. And, if what you are about to reveal isn't in any way a danger to the kids, it will always stay between us until you are ready to reveal it yourself."
"I appreciate that. Before that though, I feel uncomfortable not introducing myself." Micah looked at the newcomer and walked up for a handshake. "Micah, nice to meet you!" He felt so awkward being in the room talking about this without knowing everyone's names.
"Erza Scarlet, nice to meet you, Micah." She smiled back confidently. Her handshake was firmer than most men he had shaken hands with.
He sat back down and gave his friends a look that said to trust him. He was sure that he could keep them from being expelled. They had genuinely changed, and who better to confirm that than Faith himself.
Deciding not to beat around the bush, he said. "Right. As you know, this is Sorana and Richard. Formerly known as Angel and Hoteye from the dark guild of Oracion Seis." His words caused a great wave of shock to spread through the Fairy Mages. Erza unconsciously summoned a sword to her hands and Mirajane moved slightly closer to Makarov.
"That is quite the past. So when you blurted out that you were kidnapped, you weren't kidding, were you?" Erza asked. She had been the one to stop Natsu from continuing his assault and she was one of the few that could sense how powerful Micah was. He didn't look intimidating at all, but there was real strength in him.
"No, I was not. But it's not as it sounds, well, yeah, it is, but not really!" Micah started to panic and Sorana just facepalmed and spoke up in fear that Micah would complicate it further.
"Our former guild master had us out on a mission when we stumbled upon Micah. He got intrigued by the power Micah displayed and we took him to our base. Don't bother asking about it, he would have already abandoned it for another base." She said that because she could see Erza wanting to ask for it. She was straight-forward just like Micah, which translated into, easy to read.
Richard spoke up next. "We kept him in a cell for seven weeks. He was fed, but we were also ordered to torture him mentally, to break him down so our boss could recruit him. Like he did with us many years ago now. As you see before you, it did not work, and you will soon find out why."
Now Makarov raised his hand, and the dangerous feeling coming off him was evident. "Explain to me why I should let you two stay in the guild." He stopped speaking and sat there silently, waiting for a good response. He despised everything the dark guilds stood for, especially the three big ones, which their former guild was one of.
"Because I can vouch for them!"
"Influence from what they must have gone through at the hands of this Brain character can't be easily extinguished. This may all be an act to get inside Fairy Tail. You can't expect us to believe you."
"WE'RE GOOD DAMN IT!" Sorana blurted out suddenly, the alcohol was entirely to blame for this. She stood up and she was glaring at Mirajane who had spoken, all while slightly tilting to the left, but never falling down.
"We have Micah to thank for saving us! His powers are magical, even more so than magic itself. You three are powerful mages, much so more than me, so you can feel it, you can feel how genuine and honest he is. We were exposed to that for weeks, we started to hate what we were, started feeling guilty for what we did to him. ISN'T THAT ENOUGH!?" She took a deep breath and fell down on the sofa with eyes closed and a slight drunken smile.
"Makarov was taken aback, likewise with the other two. There were no lies in that little speech. It came straight from the heart and even the greatest actor couldn't fake genuinity like that.
"I believed you from the beginning. I just wanted to assure myself about your convictions. It takes time and courage to change, I doubted if you had that. I doubt you no longer. Welcome to Fairy Tail." Makarov was all smiling.
"You're really weird, you know that?" Micah said. Even he felt uncomfortable with how easily Makarov seemed to accept them. They used to be dark mages, even if they had changed, would a little caution be too much to ask for?
"I know a good soul when I see it. Levy believes in you, and so do I. If you vouch for them, then that is enough for me." Makarov stopped Micah from responding and said. "But, we do need to hear about your powers, as you call them. I keep hearing you say that, I assume it is not magic you are referring to." Makarov said with curiosity.
"That's where things get complicated. Promise me first to not look or treat me differently than before. And also, promise me you will never reveal what my powers are without my permission!" For the first time, Micah looked intimidating, and it wasn't a good look on him. He looked intimidating, but uncomfortable in doing so.
"I promise in the name of Fairy Tail, your secret is safe with me, safe with us. We will take it to our grave if we must." Makarov meant every word. As did Erza and Mirajane. There wasn't anything Makarov wouldn't do to protect the kids of his guild. His dedication to them was border lining insanity.
"Good. So, you all know about faith, right? The ability for beings to believe in something. It can be a higher power, or your friends and family."
"Of course. Belief is one of the cornerstones to what makes up a family. I believe in all the brats in this guild." The guild master said with clear confidence and pride.
"Then you will have a much easier time swallowing this. I am Faith."
Erza just stumbled forward and said without thinking, "what?"
"I inherited, for reasons I can't divulge, the power of faith. The ability for everyone to believe in something. I am that. I am the concept of Faith. And, in turn for taking on that role, I control light." Micah turned his arm into blue light and it was just a blue outline of a human arm. The sheer power radiating off his now glowing arm made Mirajane swallow in pure nervousness.
"Wow, how does that work? That's not magic. We can all feel that it is powered by your magic, I think. But it's not magic." Mirajane said after a while. Makarov and Erza were simply staring at Micah in disbelief, ironically enough.
"Faith. I thought it was an idea and not an actual entity." Erza said.
"To not make this super complicated for you. The reason why you can believe in the people of this guild is because of the Concept Of Faith. Without it, no one could believe in anything and life would seem pointless in a sense. You wouldn't be able to believe in your own success even." Micah was looking at Makarov waiting for him to say anything. He finally did, and he said it with a teasing smile.
"I am afraid we might not be able to just treat you the same as before. If I understand this correctly, you are essentially a God, no?" He said. Micah instantly grew red. He hated that comparison. Richard had said the same thing on their way to Magnolia.
Before he could respond, Richard took the opportunity for more teasing. "False! He is actually above Gods. Gods have to obey the concepts as well. Without Faith, Gods wouldn't have power. They get their powers through the Faith Concept." He smiled as he used Micah's knowledge against him.
"Stop it! I am not a god, and-"
"Right, you're the Supreme God!" Sorana interrupted with a grin. "Look at you, so high and mighty, please let us mortals bask in your glory!"
"Sorana, tomorrow I will be sure to bury you in your own embarrassment!" Micah hissed dangerously.
"Sure, sure, whatever, it's not like you can do that. You're too nice," She walked up and hugged him from the side. "And that's why I like you." She said quietly.
"Okay, you brats! Enough of this. Micah, I promised and I do like to keep my promises. I will not treat you differently because you are who you are. Plus you said you inherited that power which means there have been others I presume. Well, anyway, welcome to Fairy Tail, and as long as you are here and follow the rules, you can be damn sure I would fight the world for your safety." Makarov said as he looked warmly at Richard and Sorana.
""Thank you, Master!"" They said in unison.

End
I have been trying to exorcize Lord Cliff, I hope the results are showing. I think I ended this pretty nicely.
Have A Wonderful Day!
