[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]
A year has passed, and here we are inside a
the only city in Patch. Sadly I wasn't able to say goodbye to Coco, that wasn't even fair.
On another note, I've been gaining a lot of useful EXP through many minor tasks, and there was no need to waste most of them.
When I realized I could just upgrade the Growth Acceleration Node while the others slowly, but surely upgraded by me doing everything that related to certain nodes, I spent all of my EXP upgrading it.
Oh yeah, I didn't forget. While it is Level 5 now, I couldn't help but notice that it now needs 250,000 EXP to upgrade.
Moving on, I and my family specifically went here in the city to find a piece that might
A minor, yet important piece...
.... A pet.
No, I'm not kidding. I've been nagging dad to buy us a pet in patch, and I knew he has been working hard to earn some cash.
So we were searching for a pet store.
"Are we there yet?" Ruby spoke, beaming forward to Tai, and a small wry smile appeared on his face.
"Just a hundred steps forward until we reach our destination, just keep walking." Was dad's reply, before Yang wanted to ask us something.
"What pet would you prefer? Cats or Dogs?" She asked, and I scratched my hair.
"I prefer dogs. They can be trained better than cats." I answered, and Ruby immediately pouted.
"Hmph! But cats are cute! \(>0<;\)"
"As long as they aren't damaging our furniture...." Tai commented, scratching his head and sighing.
We eventually turned to another path, and were immediately disappointed that the supposed pet shop was closed.
"Oh no.... the shop is closed....." Yang commented, feeling droopy for a moment.
"No way.... where can we find new pets now?" Ruby whined, pulling on Tai's jacket.
It seems like he was disgruntled for a moment, as a sigh of surrender escaped his mouth.
"I'm sorry to say this, but we should come back next time. It seems like we're not able to bring out pet home, sadly." He said, sitting down on a nearby bench to rest.
"How about we buy some ice cream to lighten up the mood?" He finished, trying to bring our attention to the delicious treat of ice cream.
But, my attention was on somewhere different. Somewhere between the pet store and a building beside it.
Is that....? I mean, there's something crying there. Whatever it is, I must investigate it.
"Reid! Come back here!"
Ignoring my father's saying right now, I immediately approached the small figure.
Only for me to see a small puppy lying on the ground, letting out pained whines and obviously he looked horrible right now.
"Hey little buddy, you're going to be fine soon. Just please don't bite me, okay?" I spoke, holding out one of my little hands towards the puppy.
Focusing on him, I began to focus on awakening the animal's aura. And because I couldn't think of any good chants to unlock aura, I just made sure I didn't need anything.
And with a slight push, I unlocked the puppy's aura. The small wounds it already had immediately began to vanish.
My fingers were suddenly licked, by the same puppy.
"Hmm.... a corgi..... oh well, I'll name you Zwei like in the canon. That felt much better to us." I spoke, picking up the corgi and turning towards a surprised father, and sisters.
"Uh.... I found our new pet?"
Mood that had been dropped down were suddenly rising up like a rocket, as both Ruby and Yang immediately walked around me with eyes glittering.
"That's a good find, Reid! I was worried you'd run off too far, and.... I'm glad I wouldn't have to spend more lien right now..... otherwise I'd have to work twice as hard." Tai commented, eager to let Zwei with us.
Ever since then, days.... weeks.... months.... and even years passed.
We shared good moments, sad moments (Raven left for her tribe), happy moments, and I think I am a big spender.
Cause ever since I was at high school, I had been eager to learn and gain EXP for the fun of it because I now gained 200fold of EXP that I normally and naturally gain.
I did max out the Growth Acceleration Node to gain that amount of EXP in the first place, anyways.
I've made blueprints of my 7 weapons, and personally helped in the forging of them, whole I bought 3 more. Yes, I used up 2/3rds of my savings for those, but was it worth it? Of course..... maybe?
They were:
• Gun N'Ro - A twin barreled revolver that needs dust to operate, shoots powerful energy blasts. Actually reminiscent to DMC's Blue Rose
• Rude Buster - A heavy blade the size of an average human. Best for blunt damage with the usage of gravity dust combined with fire, ice, or wind dust.
• Raven - A katana
• Crystal Atelier - Two daggers the size of my arm, and also very lightweight enough for me to cut 10 times in one second (currently).
• Rose Workshop - A lightweight, handmade rifle reminiscing the early 1800s weapon, it almost reached up my shoulder, and is very powerful yet aura consuming.
• Black Workshop - Identical pairs of gauntlets and greaves, said to be made for an infamous criminal from the east. Technically I bought these.
• Rosespanner - A heavy hammer that uses gravity dust, has an insanely raw power but is seriously slow compared to every weapon I have.
• The Tower - A massive tower shield than can consume aura and dust to be fully operated. Way more costly than any other weapon here.
• Thanatos' Rose - A heavy, violet scythe with skull themes and edgy stuff. It made me look like a reaper who would devour your soul, or something like that. I bought this too. Originally it was named a bit too edgily, like "God of Death Devouring the Moon - Endless Soulless Graveyard of Doom." That's a mouthful.
• Thorned Dueler - A rapier I bought. Not that expensive but not that cheap, but was still the cheapest of the weapons I had made somebody build or even bought.
Besides that, I've already applied for Beacon Academy because I've already passed through the normal schools.
Maybe see you later.... I guess?
