Chapter 4 : A Author's Perspective

5 days later.

------------------

Zakai looked down at his weak master, watching as he coughed up purple looking blood into a bucket.

Nothing was displayed in the young boy's eyes, as he slowly sighed and put a new rag on the head of his doomed master.

"My pipe...."

Zakai got the pipe and gave it to him, watching as the smoke of the tobacco fumes filled the cabin.

"Master, are you afraid of death?"

"Who isn't?" Sekel coughed some more, before hastily putting the pipe against his lips.

"Why would you fear it?"

"Losing the ones you love," Sekel responded.

"Then what if you don't have any love ones?"

"The sensations of life." Sekel laid down, putting the pipe on the side.

"You don't have any love ones, master, nor do you live a special life," Zakai muttered, nothing present in his tone. "So, why do you fear death?"

"Many reasons. But I welcome the thought of it as well."

"So you fear it and accept it?" Zakai looked puzzled, before snickering. "That doesn't make sense."

"I once too had a family once, as well." Sekel snorted back. "Went to the magic knight's exam, failed, and then one day I found my family in cold blood in our home." Sekel sighed, before closing his eyes. "2 Brothers, 1 Sister and a Mother and a Father."

"What happened to them?"

"A Magical beast broke into the house and slaughtered them all, my Father and Mother were merely utility mages, and the bear obviously didn't care about cooking magic."

"What did you feel?"

"Sad and angry, they were family, we laughed and shed tears together, and they were reduced to mere corpses in my hands," Sekel muttered. as his face eventually got paler and paler.

"It was nice knowing you master," Zakai muttered to the man, as he laughed.

In an attempt at a laugh, the only thing that came out was a bubbled voice with a mixture of coughing and laughing.

"I wish you well, disciple." Sekel's expression was like a ghost, as Zakai lifted up his shirt and saw the purple poison was getting darker and darker.

Checking his veins, the purple blood replaced the blue veins.

Sighing, Zakai rubbed his temples in stress.

"Do you think I'll be able to achieve the contract?"

"Easily."

"This is a lot of stress for someone young, is it not Master?"

"Go back to the orphanage then."

Zakai snickered.

"Do something for me before I die."

"And that is?"

"Give me my whiskey."

"Master?"

"Yes?"

"Do you fear death?" Zakai looked towards the dying Sekel with nothing present in his eyes.

"Don't we all?"

"Why do you fear it, master?"

"I fear, it but I welcome it as well."

"How come?"

"My family, there is a slim chance I will be able to see them again."

"And if you don't?"

"Nothing will happen."

"Then why are you scared of death?"

"Because I lose the luxuries of life."

"Is that so." Zakai shook his head, before giving his master his pipe.

"I once had a family too, you know. 2 loving sisters and a brother."

"Oh?" Zakai raised his eyebrow. "What happened to them?"

"A beast broke into the house and slew them all. My parents were utility mages, so their magic must have stretched the bear." Sekel took a long deep breath in his pipe, before realsing the fumes into the cabin.

The thick smoke made Zakai's nose burn, but he ignored it and sighed.

"Where was your family's house?"

"On the edge of the wood."

"There is no way that a beast managed to get to your house, it's too close to the village master.

"NO!" Sekel screamed, "I know that it is a beast!"

"Calm down," Zakai muttered, causing the man to regain his composure.

With every second his Master's complexion was getting paler and paler, and Zakai knew these were his last breaths.

"Thank you for teaching me, Master." Zakai got on the floor and bowed to his master, causing a hearty chuckle to come out of his mouth.

"Thank you for being here, my disciple." Sekel took a long puff out of his pipe, and potentially his last.

"Zakai."

"Yes, Master?"

"Jus-st, Promise to n-not lose y-yourself in the raging ti-des of life , o-k?"

Zakai calmy looked towards the man, some would see the blankness as scary, but Zakai calmly nodded.

"I will do my best," Zakai muttered, as Sekel's eyelids started to drop.

Tears fluttered out of Selek's eyes as he muttered.

"M-mother, L-lissandra, i-s that you!"

He took his final breath, and he died with a content look on his face.

The book at Zakai's side suddenly started to grow restless when a green aura flooded out of the body of Sekel.

It was his wind magic.

The green aura suddenly grew thicker, causing an ethereal version of Sekel's Grimoire to appear.

Zakai watched with intrigue as his book went over to Sekel's Grimoire, as the particles near Sekel's Grimoire slowly floated towards the book.

In a couple of seconds, the legacy of Sekel was completely absorbed into the book-, no it was something more than a book.

It glowed with wind energy, as a Zakai managed to muster up the courage to touch it.

He was sent to the Library.

The smell of books, even when there were no more than 1-

no, there were two books.

One was the wind wolf he had read so many times, and the second was a new book.

Early picking it up, Zakai felt a surge of memories in his head.

Memories that weren't his, yet he had free reign over them.

Yes....yes...

He was the author of this story.

---------------------------------

A young boy was overlooking a stream, playing with rocks and throwing them across the stream.

He seemed to enjoy the activity , as he smiled every time a rock went further than the last.

"Yes, a new record!" The boy early said, before suddenly turning around.

"Sekel!" A middle-aged woman shouted down to a young Sekel. "Your father is here, come and say hello!"

"Coming mother!"

The scene suddenly shifted, and what was supposed to be a house full of joy was now a house full of blood puddles, each corresponding to 5 corpses on the floor.

A middle corpse in the room was the appearance of the father, slumped over the bloodied corpse of his mother.

A cut was on his mother's belly, one that looked like it had been stabbed, as the slit of cut was in a match with the blade...

the blade his father was holding.

He looked over to his right, where two mangled corpses were seen.

One belonged to Lissadnra, his younger sister, and his older sister.

They were stabbed more than once, countless blade cuts reduced their bodies to nothing more than animal carcasses.

But these corpses once smiled, made jokes with him...

loved him.

"No... Father would never do such a thing...." Sekel screamed a blood-curdling scream that echoed down to the village below. "It was a wild beast, nothing more than a bear that broke into the house... yes...yes.."

A sound of a book shut was sound, and Zakai was thrown back into the library.

"Never until the mankind making

Bird beast and flower

Fathering and all humbling darkness

Tells with silence the last light breaking

And the still hour

Is come of the sea tumbling in harness"

a voice sounded out in the library, one that sounded like a fork being stretched over a plate.

It sounds reached every corner of the library, the voice coming from every direction.

He was snapped back to reality, as he looked down at the book.

It was surrounded by a green cacoon of energy, at one point getting completely covered, and not being able to be seen.

It came out, but the blank cover of the book was replaced by 5 sets of clovers

3 clovers represent faith, hope and love

4 clovers represent faith, good luck, hope and love.

5 means determination, and something much much darker...
