Darven was handed a letter by the butler, he grimaced as he straightened up in his bed. His body bore purple whip marks, a punishment from his wife for harming their daughter.
But his heart held no blame for her beating, he felt he was the cause of her actions. He felt jealous of his daughter, and thoughts of killing her always flashed through the deepest part of his heart.
Though he tried so hard to ignore it by doting and showering her with love, deep in his heart, he blamed her presence for making his wife estranged from him.
He had a loving relationship with Matilda before she was pregnant with the twins; ever since then, she changed overnight, always concerned about their children, and he seems to have faded into the background.
