Talon, Claire, and Cotton made their way toward the forest, not far from their camp. Cotton dashed around them, full of energy.
"Cotton, he always seems so excited when he's out here, doesn't he?" Claire observed.
"Yeah, well, this is his home, after all," Talon replied. "Do you plan on taking him with us if we manage to leave the island, Claire?"
Claire paused, considering the question. "I don't know, I haven't really thought about it. Do you think it would be selfish of me to bring him, Talon?"
"Hmm, I think we should let Cotton decide that when the time comes."
Talon found a good spot to build a house for Cotton. Around them, bamboo trees swayed gently, and a large tree stood nearby, offering shade.
The place was cool, with only a little sunlight filtering through.
"Claire, wait here. I'm going to grab some bamboo," Talon said.
Claire nodded, while Cotton ran circles around her and Talon, as if trying to get them to play.
