"I have a proposal you can't refuse," Talon stated confidently.
Barton, teetering on the brink of defeat, hardened his expression but began to consider listening. The middle-aged man nodded at Talon, giving him the floor.
Barton should have continued recording all interactions, confident that Talon would slip up, providing him with ammunition to further smear Talon in the media.
However, the tables had turned.
Now, Barton was forced to negotiate, albeit reluctantly.
"Hurry up, spill it out," Barton grumbled.

In his mind, Talon weighed his options. He knew Barton was too proud to bow down easily, meaning his pride was at stake.
Certainly, Barton would not admit his wrongdoing publicly since he had already spread slander about Talon. That option would only infuriate Barton more.
Yet, Talon believed that Barton might still accept something 'negotiable.'
