The next morning, Atlas wakes up from his sleep. His entire body feels incredibly loose and flexible while his arms feel incredibly sore.
"It turns out I'm not able to do things like that yet I suppose."
He sighs as he sits up and starts eating from the breakfast tray on the black marble nightstand beside his bed. His breakfast consists of ten lengths of kipperfiber (a very fibrous fruit cut into strips that tastes similar to cranberries), a bowl of haeredge (a soup that contains haered which is similar to carrots), and a glass of kipper juice.
He quickly scoffs down his meal and jumps out of bed, running straight to his desk. He climbs into his chair and grabs a leather book from the drawer. Inside the book are various dates, like a ledger. He flips to today and sees written 'Magic lessons with mommy!'
His face brightens up as he reads this and he runs out of the room. He runs down the lavish hallways on the plush green carpet, passing by multiple servants who all give him a warm smile and a bow. After a few seconds, he stops in front of a big darkwood door. He straightens himself up and knocks on the door four times.
"Come in Atlas!"
A sweet feminine voice calls out from the other side.
Atlas opens the big door with a bit of struggle and closes it behind him. As he turns around he sees a cozy room colored very red with hints of dark brown everywhere. In the center of the room near a window is a big wooden desk, with Atlas' mom working on several papers. Atlas stands up straight and says,
"I'm here for my lesson Mrs. Mom!"
Atlas' mom gets a warm smile on her face when she hears that. She stands up and looks at him before saying,
"That's Lady Mom to you, young man!"
Her smile disappears as she looks at him.
"Atlas, why are you still in pajamas?!"
Atlas' face turns red as he forgot the get dressed before running for his lesson.
"I did it on purpose!"
He sweats a little as he tries to justify it.
His mom gives him a little grin as she walks over and picks him up.
"I know you're interested in magic but you still need to get dressed!"
She puts on a playful scolding tone as she takes him back to his room and dresses him up.
After arriving back to the study, Atlas and his mom sit on two red chairs facing each other near a fireplace.
"Alright Atlas, give me your hands."
Atlas complies.
"So I know you've used basic magic before, but it's still good to learn from the start anyways. Now, do you feel a warmth going up your arm?"
As she asks this, a slight sting happens on Atlas' palm which is instantly followed by a slight warm feeling. As if whiskey was going down his throat. He feels the warmth traveling up his arm, down his legs, into his head, and into his chest. Almost instinctively, Atlas starts to pull all of that warmth to certain spots in his body. To a triangular spot in his head, a circular part in his chest near his heart, two circles in both his hands on his palms, and two squares in his legs near his knees.
Atlas unknowingly starts absorbing the mana from his moms body. Karina opens her eyes in shock and hurriedly yanks her hand back. She pants for a bit as Atlas keeps his eyes closed. Slight wind starts to form in the room and flows towards him. Papers off the desk start flying, the fire from the fireplace starts licking towards him, and the door starts to rattle a bit. After about a minute and a half, the wind dies down. A large green glowing circle appears on Atlas' forehead. It glows so brightly that the entire room is illuminated; then suddenly, it disappears.
Atlas opens his eyes to find his mom looking at him with shock and awe. Atlas starts to feel upset about this, and is about to start crying until,
"My baby is truly gifted."
Karina's shocked face turns into a warm smile as she gets up and hugs her baby.
