Special Day

April 23, 2013

I was holding and looking at the hairclip.

This was my favorite hairclip before.

I put it on my bedside table then I checked my phone for any messages.

Nothing. Nada. Zero.

I was putting it back on my table when suddenly,

*ding*

*ding*

'Good morning, Chloe!'

'Happy Birthday! 😊'

It was from Ivan.

'Hey! Thanks! So, you coming over later?'

I replied.

*ding*

'I wouldn't miss it.'

I smiled.

What is happening to me being so happy talking to Ivan? I mean, it doesn't really matter now, because, me and Matthew are no longer together. Oh well, Ivan and me are just friends anyway.

I cleaned my bookshelves. I love to read books from any genre, but romance is still my favorite. Charlotte also loves to read just like me. We share books and thoughts about them after reading them. Cassy doesn't like to read that much but she is getting there. After cleaning the shelves, I went downstairs.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAAAAYYY!!!!"

Charlotte and Cassy were at the end of the stairs.

"Thank you, guys." I hugged them both.

"How was your sleep? Feeling okay now? Ellie told me you went home early. Me and Cassy didn't bother you so you can rest. Come on, I need to finish the pasta." We walked to the kitchen so Charlotte can continue cooking. "Wow Char, is that Chicken Alfredo?" I could smell it. It is my favorite. I leaned on the counter so I could take a good look at it.

"You're favorite. Of course."

Charlotte looked and smiled at me

"You haven't eaten anything yet. Since yesterday." Cassy said while sitting at the dining table.

"I'm okay. I'm feeling great actually." I told them both.

"By the way guys, I invited Ivan today. I told him to come later at 4pm."

"Really?" Cassy was smiling.

"As in Ivan? Ivan Ivan?" Charlotte asked

"Yes. Why?" I asked her

"Nothing. Didn't know that he lives here again. That was like what? 10 years ago? When they left?"

"9 years."

They both looked at me, smiling.

"Not that I'm keeping track, you know!" I rolled my eyes at them. "He's my classmate. Last year he transferred I just didn't reconnect with him because of Matthew."

"Oh, okay. So, you just texted him?" Charlotte was trying not to laugh

"He likes her still," Cassy said to Charlotte giggling.

"What? No! We're just friends. He was trying to reach out to me because of what happened before. We had the chance to talk yesterday on the bus, so I invited him. Just that."

Charlotte and Cassy looked at each other then laughed.

"You guys are crazy!" I laughed with them

"Okay, the pasta is ready. Let's eat!"

And so, we said our graces and then we eat.
