Chapter 168

When the distance between Amelia and Bellatrix were just a few centimetres, she felt herself coming back to life, and the grin on her face became even wider, but the next moment bewilderment flashed in Amelia's gaze, followed by panic.

She saw how a fiery palm began to materialise in front of Bellatrix, as if in slow motion…

"What a bad girl…" she heard as she felt an incomparable heat, from which in a split second her throat went dry, and blisters began to form on her skin one after another, "... turning your back on someone, this is great disrespect, and especially to your enemy…" but she did not hear these words, because the consciousness of the witch was swallowed by a terrible pain, when the fiery palm closed on her face, she did not even have time to scream, not to mention feel the full extent of this pain and lost consciousness, falling on the stone path.

The others, having seen what happened to their leader and colleague who used the ice element, simply lost all their ardour, giving way to fear that completely consumed their consciousness.

Although they were unconditionally loyal to their organisation, they really did not want to die, especially in the same way, and therefore, they were left with only one choice... to run!

Run without looking back, because if they could report the existence of such a monster, they would definitely not be punished and would be allowed to live, even abandoning their commander, whose fare was unknown, if she was alive at all.

And with such thoughts, exchanging glances, both of them suddenly turned into ashes and flew in opposite directions from each other, hoping that this old man would follow the other, but…

"What kind of youth have we got…" a tired, old voice sounded, from which goosebumps ran down both of their spines, "... only recently I punished your leader for this, but you are stepping on the same rake again…" hearing his words, they accelerated even more until they reached the barrier and again took human form.

One of them took out a simple silver dagger and tried to stick it into the fire barrier, but to his shock, as soon as the blade touched him, it immediately began to melt.

"H-how is this possible...?" the man whispered, not believing his eyes, slowly being consumed by despair.

"With such actions, you are only insulting me, did you really think that with such a lousy thing you could overcome my barrier?" the old man standing behind him asked him in a calm voice.

At that moment, the wizard could have sworn, even without seeing his face, that this monster was smiling.

This was a real devil, to whom he simply could not do anything and this thought was the last one before the member of the "Queen" lost consciousness…

At the same time, the "old man", who caught the falling body by the scruff of the neck, only chuckled indifferently, looking at the dagger lying on the ground.

"One more," in addition to what he took from the second "fugitive", the woman, there was also a fake, a complete copy of the original, but much better, "Because of this incident, I even stopped thinking rationally, because who in their right mind would trust someone with an artefact of the rank of "Archmage" ... Nellie, take them and chain them in the basement, I will deal with them later."

"Yes, Master!" the house-elf answered with undisguised hostility, appearing opposite him and looking at the two bodies, because of who Tobbi was badly hurt.

Ignoring this, he threw the second body onto the first and the elf disappeared with them, and then, "Amon", looked towards the barrier engulfed in flames and, smiling slightly, also disappeared...

A few blocks away from the dome, on the roof of one of the buildings, a man with green hair, whose eyes glowed with an unnatural, red hue, simply could not hide his shock and it was not that they were noticed, but in the strength of this old man, it simply exceeded all his expectations.

"If that day he came with Snape..." this thought alone made Vitold tremble, "Could it be that the leader knew about him and therefore decided to make him captain of one of the squads right away...?" but he shook his head,  "No, he couldn't have known, then he wouldn't have given the go-ahead for the forceful method, the leader is too cautious at such moments..."

"Brother, are we leaving?" Charles asked him, noticing that the radiance had faded from the commander's eyes.

"Yes, there's nothing more to do here," he answered gloomily, "We need to quickly report everything to the leader..."

---

Somewhere else, a group of Aurors, led by Moody, who just happened to be on duty that day and by "coincidence" right in the very area where the "bullying" of the "kids" had just recently taken place, stood right in front of the barrier, but because of the commander's order, they did not even try to attack him, but only looked at the gloomy Alastor's face with bewilderment.

"Damn! Why does all this crap happen again during my duty?!"

"Captain…"

"Petersen, you remain in charge when the barrier falls, don't touch the Blacks," and without saying anything else, he waved his wand and disappeared, leaving only his subordinates to look at each other in surprise.

At the same time, from the roof of a low building, not far from the group of fighters with dark wizards, a white sparrow flew out, flying in the opposite direction from the dome...

---

"Amon" appeared in front of the Blacks' house, making all its inhabitants shudder.

However, the old man did not pay much attention to them, but approached the body of the witch, whom he still did not kill, but there was no trace left of her former beauty.

"W-we thank you for helping us," Walburga timidly said, finding the strength in herself with difficulty, not daring to look this "monster" in the eyes, "... if our family can somehow repay you for saving us, we will do our best..."

"Girl, do you think that you might have something that might interest me?" he measured her with a mocking look, pointing his palm at Amelia's body, which was sucked into the palm right before the aristocrat's eyes, and then he looked at the shuddering Bellatrix and nodded approvingly, "Not bad, not bad, I approve," stroking his beard, he nodded businesslike "He really is like me in this matter."

Bella, who realised what he meant, blushed slightly, while inside, the witch felt warmth, but with it an unpleasant bitterness, already knowing that it was "Severus" who asked to help them, although understanding that it was because of him that all this happened, while he did not even come, but sat somewhere on the side.

This sight truly shocked the head of the family's wife, who did not understand what was happening, because no one had told her about Snape's teacher, she only thought that he was just lucky, considering him an upstart or even someone's puppet. "He took after his teacher..." the lady repeated these words to herself, "A student... a student... Bellatrix knows him and by her reaction she is very close to him..." the next moment it dawned on her, and at the same second the aristocrat turned sharply pale, because she knew only one person who fit this description, "It can't be..."

"Don't blame him," the old man muttered tiredly, sighing wearily, slightly surprising her, "That idiot was also eager to help, after he had been working on one potion for the last three days without sleep, so I had to slightly smooth his head," smiling, with a more good-natured expression on his face, he added, which again slightly embarrassed the woman.

" I... understood…"

"And you…" he looked at the pale Walburga, who was already beginning to say goodbye to life, remembering how she had previously insulted the Prince and even expressed herself a couple of times not very well about who was behind him, "... I will recommend moving to another place, when the information where your house is located is in the public domain, even the fidelius will not save you."

"Y-yes! That's what we will do!" realising that he was not going to take revenge, she felt incredible relief, and she had already thought about moving earlier, but this incident became decisive.

"Then I have to take my leave," snapped his fingers and in the same second, the fiery dome disappeared.

"Um... can you examine Uncle?" trying to pull herself together, unnaturally timidly, Bella asked.

"He's fine, simple shock, he'll wake up in a couple of hours," the old man answered calmly, looking at the lying Orion, and then simply disappeared, leaving the two ladies to exchange surprised glances.

"Bellatrix, answer me, he's not his student...right?" Walburga looked at her with hope, but seeing a crooked smile on her niece's face, the witch, with a pale face, slowly sank to the ground next to her husband.

Bella herself did not share the same panic as her aunt, but on the contrary, she tightly clenched her fists and defiantly looked somewhere into the distance.

This day became a real shock for her, because the young woman always considered herself a strong witch, and in the ranks of the Death Eaters, she was definitely in the top ten, but this incident opened her eyes to the truth and made her look at the much wider world, which was not limited only to Magical Britain, because the she hated losing more than anything in her life, especially so shamefully.

Previously, the aristocrat considered Voldemort the most powerful wizard and had more than once conducted training fights with him, but now she could say for sure that he would have lost to that woman, maybe not completely, but he would have lost.

At that moment, another thread in Bella's mind that had connected her with Tom for a long time broke, and in the witch's head there appeared an image of an old man who had replaced the master and next to him a young man with dark hair, who would one day, under his leadership, definitely reach the same strength and surpass the elderly wizard, it was only a matter of time.

Remembering his defiant smile, she clenched her fists tightly and narrowed her eyes in displeasure.

"I must become even stronger! I will not allow that impudent man to surpass me!" although Black suspected that perhaps he was already stronger than her, especially remembering that day in the park, but she was not going to give up so easily, but at the same time, she was well aware that he had long since settled deep in her heart, but the pride and arrogant nature of the aristocrat simply did not allow her to admit it, trying to push these feelings away, into the darkest corners of her consciousness ...
