SAVE WHEN YOU HAVE A HIGHER CHANCE

It was easy to identify the dead children as the other injured children had distanced themselves from them.

Flint just imagined, since she could not access the window any longer now that they were being chased by something.

From the first pause to the loud explosion and now the Mussel Mobile was running faster than it had ever run since the beginning of the journey.

She looked down to see Ulanni staring up at her again. Ulanni had complained to her of thirst and headache some minutes ago, but there was nothing she could do except tell her to rest her head on her bent knee.

Which also proved impossible due to her swollen head.

"Flint, are we all going to die?" Ulanni's soft tired voice drifted to Flint's ears. But before she could respond Sarah butted in.

"What are you talking about? We are all going to be fine." Sarah tried to reassure her as she moved to hold unto her hand.

"No! Stop telling me we are going to be fine and that everything is going to be alright!"

Ulanni threw back her eyes becoming misty in disarray as she jerked her hand out of Sarah's grasp.

"Don't think I don't see things. I can see them… dying one after the other just like you can Sarah!"

Ulanni said her voice breaking. She was terrified, that what befell the other children would soon happen to her.

Being locked up in a compartment with metals staged inside and being tossed around was not the way anyone would wish to die.

"Am sorry. It's just that I don't want you to feel down and sad." Sarah uttered as she tilted her head downwards to stare at her fingers.

Flint who was just beside Sarah didn't utter a word. She knew that if she spoke, she might just kill the only hope of Ulanni and Sarah.

But that would be the truth as there was not much chance of the three of them or the rest of the children surviving if the Mussel Mobile doesn't come to rest soon.

Just then the Mussel Mobile took on a rough turn and the children went tumbling again.

"Hummp…" Flint groaned as she held on to the handle in front of her to stop herself from also rolling out and to keep Sarah and Ulanni at bay.

A shrill cry was heard from amidst the children who had now been rolled over to the very front of the compartment.

On hearing the, cry some children who still had enough strength left in them turned their heads around and tried to locate where the cry out came from.

While others tried rolling off those who they had been sprawled out on, as the Mussel Mobile had sent them rolling and hipped them atop each other.

Soon enough a light-skinned boy with innocent black orbs for eyes and a small build came into view.

He held onto the side of his head with a pained expression, as deep red blood dripped from his elbows and dyed his brown clothes a deeper shade of brown.

His delicate head filled with a mass of dull white hat was now tinted the metallic red of fresh blood.

On sighting this, the children who had still been around him hurriedly crawled away as they distanced themselves from him as thou not wanting the dripping red splash of his blood staining them.

It didn't take long before the area around the boy had been vacated.

The injured boy tried stretching out his left hand forward in a silent plea for help.

As if knowing that no one was going to help him, he tried calling out this time for someone to help him.

"HELP…" He called out in desperation. His voice patched and scratched in agony.

He tried raising his hand again but it appeared that was too much of a task for him to perform.

Seeing as no one was coming to his aid, his shoulders dropped in resignation.

He sat alone with his legs stretched out Infront of him as his hand cradled ever so pitifully against his injured head as deep red blood slowly flowed from his elbow to the floor to coat it as those before him had done.

There was silence in the compartment as only the sound of the boy wheezing in pain could be heard.

Tears silently dropped and rolled down his cheeks before also mixing with the blood below.

Just behind where the boy was seated hopelessly was a raised platform just beside where the stairs were located.

This raised section was connected to the step. It now spotted splotches of blood on it and chunks of flesh and white strings of hair.

The three girls watched mutely at the occurrence in front of them. Ulanni moved to push against Sarah.

"Let me go help! Are we just all going to watch as another person dies again?!" Ulanni stated with her voice firm as she moved to stand up.

"That is a stupid thing to do Ulanni! We would have helped out, but it is too dangerous" Sarah forced out as she pushed her back, to sit down.

"Trying to help? Haha!" Flint let out a soft laugh.

"Before you help make sure you are in a favorable position, else it would be a stupid death when you die and the person you are trying to save lives."

Flint lectured the impulsive Ulanni who had her face in a half frown.

"You see Ulanni, Flint has a point. It is dangerous going out there to help and especially not with you going there on your feet." Sarah said to Ulanni, reinforcing Flint's claim.

"Now sit. I would try going over but I do not promise anything."

Saying this, Flint was about to move towards where the injured boy sat alone, but just then the Mussel was hit hard from behind.

This had the children rolling around once again as moans of pain together with the sickly metallic taste of blood filled the atmosphere again.

Wow, am almost nearly chapter 50, I didn't believe I could do this. I know it sounds small but it means a lot to me.
